"A friend, huh?" Lucy arched a brow, lips twitching into a grin like a shark that smelled blood in the water.

Aiden shot her a look. "Don't."

"Oh no, sweetie, I would never embarrass you," Lucy said, full of mock-innocence. She turned straight to Valeria and said, "So! How long have you been dating my son? Did he trip over his own feet when he saw you the first time, or was he too busy showing off and acting like he wasn't interested?"

"MOM!"

Jason, meanwhile, stood by watching the whole thing unfold with a proud little smirk. "He tried playing it cool," he said, clapping Aiden on the back. "But I saw the look. Total 'I'm doomed' face."

Valeria just laughed and teased, "Actually, he glared at me first. Then told me to shut up. Real romantic."

Lucy gasped. "Aiden Blake! You told her to shut up?"

"What! When did that happen!" Aiden protested, ears burning. "And I didn't mean it like that, I was trying to send you to safety..."

"Oh no, no, this makes sense," Lucy said with a laugh. "That's how I knew your dad liked me too. He told me to 'back off' when I tried to help him."

Jason raised his hands like guilty as charged.

Evelyn, arms crossed and smirking in that way only an 11-year-old sister can, walked up to Valeria and said, "So you're the girl who's gonna take my brother away from me huh...."

Valeria nodded with a smile. "Guess I am."

"Cool." Eve stepped a little closer, sizing her up. "Just so you know, if you hurt him… I'm not telling Mom. I'm handling it myself."

Valeria blinked—then laughed "Noted. I'll stay on your good side."

"You better," Eve said, then nudged her with a grin. "You like video games?"

Valeria tilted her head. "Depends. Is Aiden bad at them?"

"Terrible," Eve said immediately. "He rage-quits. Throws the controller like it's your fault."

"I do not!" Aiden cut in, completely red now.

"Yes, you do," Lucy, Jason, and Evelyn said in unison.

"It wasn't my fault....It was the lag...."

Valeria just leaned slightly toward Aiden, whispering loud enough for them all to hear, "This is the best welcoming committee ever."

Aiden threw his hands up. "I regret everything."

Jason just laughed and threw an arm around his son's shoulder. "Nah. You did good, kid. Damn good."

.....

Aiden made his way through the dim, bustling tunnels of the Morlock hideout, the cool underground air a sharp contrast to the chaos he'd just left above. Eventually, he spotted Callisto, arms crossed, barking orders as she coordinated supply drops and checked off names from a list of new mutant arrivals.

She looked up the moment she sensed him. "Well, look who decided to show his pretty face. Guess you found your old man?"

Aiden gave a half-smile, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah. Brought him back in one piece. Not exactly a pleasure cruise, though. That world was a mess… Anyway—I just wanted to say thanks. For keeping my mom and Eve safe while I was gone."

Callisto smirked. "No problem. But remember—you owe me. I could use you for intimidation runs next time some smug top-worlder decides to come down here with a clipboard and a fake smile."

"Done. I'll even wear a scary mask if it helps," Aiden joked, then his tone softened. "But seriously, I need another favor. Not a new one—just… keep them safe a bit longer."

"You don't even have to ask," she replied. "Your family's welcome here anytime. Your mom's been a huge help, actually—we found her a spot teaching the kids down here. Helpin' them adjust. She's good at it."

"Yeah, she's kind of amazing like that," Aiden said with a faint grin. "Good to know she's got something meaningful to do here."

He turned to leave, then paused.

"I gotta head back up. Got more stuff to deal with."

"Galactus, right?"

Aiden looked over his shoulder. "So you know?"

Callisto rolled her eye. "I live underground, not under a rock. Word travels. Big scary planet-eater tends to make waves."

She stepped closer, arms still folded. "Oh—and remember that person who was asking about you before?"

Aiden narrowed his eyes. "The Scarlet Witch?"

"Yeah. Her." Callisto nodded. "Well… she came back. Or rather, sent someone in her place."

"…Her brother?" Aiden guessed, already guessing where this was going.

"Quicksilver. Real twitchy guy. She wants to talk. With you."

Aiden exhaled slowly, brow furrowing. "That's interesting…"

"She didn't say much," Callisto continued. "But she left a way to contact her—only if you agreed. Said it was about Galactus."

With Aiden's quiet nod, Callisto activated the item Wanda had left behind—a small, rune-marked stone with a faint hum of magic. It wasn't a phone call or a communicator. All she had to do was press it, and a holographic projection shimmered into existence, marking a meeting location.

"Magic," Aiden muttered, his eyes narrowing as he watched the projection vanish. "Of course it is."

He left shortly after, choosing not to bring his father along. Jason needed time with Lucy and Eve, and Aiden figured it was better that way. He had his own business to handle.

...

The meeting spot wasn't anything fancy—just an old abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city, half-crumbling, forgotten by time. Aiden stepped inside, hands in his pockets, and waited.

The air shifted.

He sensed it before it even happened.

A pulse—an unnatural, magical fluctuation—rippled through the space in front of him. Reality twisted for a brief moment, like a page folding in a book. Then she stepped through.

Wanda Maximoff.

The Scarlet Witch.

She wore civilian clothes—a dark red coat over a plain outfit—but her aura still crackled faintly with power. Beside her stood Quicksilver, already in his iconic silver-and-blue suit, arms folded and tapping his foot like he couldn't wait to run off. Emma Frost stood behind them, dressed casually but with the unmistakable grace of someone who knew exactly how lethal she was. And finally… a man Aiden didn't recognize—at least, not at first glance.

Wanda tilted her head. "Confident, aren't you? Showing up here alone."

Aiden's eyes flicked across her group, unimpressed. "Let's see… a speedster, a mind-reader who's better at fashion than espionage…" He glanced at the man beside them. "…and you. Oh, come on. You really thought I wouldn't recognize you, Mystique?"

The man's face twisted, skin shifting into blue scales and yellow eyes as Mystique dropped the disguise with a sneer.

"Cute trick. Not a threatening team, though," Aiden said casually. "So unless you want this to turn ugly fast—start talking. What do you want?"

Emma rolled her eyes. "He's cocky."

Quicksilver blinked. "Did he just call me a boy?"

Wanda raised her hand, silencing both of them.

"We're not here to fight," she said evenly. "I don't pick losing battles."

Aiden raised an eyebrow. "Flattering. Go on."

"Galactus is coming," Wanda said bluntly. "I don't consider myself a protector of this world, but he's coming for our planet—and I don't plan on watching it get eaten."

Aiden crossed his arms. "So? It's not like you have a solution, do you?"

Wanda didn't flinch. "No. Not a complete one. But I do have a warning: Galactus isn't something you beat, Aiden Blake. Not with strength. Not with clever tricks. He's not a villain. He's not even a god. He's a force—a walking cosmic extinction."

"Yeah… not exactly news," Aiden replied. "If you're just here to tell me we're screwed, I could've stayed home."

She smirked. "I said I don't have a solution. I didn't say I don't have a countermeasure."

That got Aiden's attention.

"It's not foolproof," Wanda continued. "But it could keep Earth safe. Maybe even redirect him."

"Well?" Aiden said. "Let's hear it."

"Not yet. Not until I have your cooperation."

Aiden's eyes narrowed. "This better not be another mutant war pitch."

"I want a pardon," she said. "For me and my allies. If I'm going to work with the heroes of Earth, I want assurance we won't be hunted down the second this is over. No more ambushes. No more being treated like fugitives."

Aiden laughed softly. "Do I look like I run the government to you?"

"No," Wanda replied coolly. "But you're powerful. and could easily gain, or Earn their respect.... The Avengers WILL listen to you. So will the Fantastic Four. And the X-Men. If you stand behind me, they'll consider it. SHIELD will follow suit. The world will listen."

Aiden thought for a moment, then asked, "And then what?"

"Then we start the plan," Wanda said. "But first—you'll need to catch the Silver Surfer."

Aiden blinked. "Excuse me?"

"He's the key," she said. "To everything. You want to stop Galactus? You start with his herald."

"…And what exactly is your plan?"

Wanda took a breath, her expression darkening with purpose.

"Well, you see—"
