Later that evening, Eveline visited Sherlyn's clinic just as she finished attending to a patient.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting. Come, have a seat," Sherlyn apologized politely, gesturing toward the chair.
"It's okay, Aunt Sherlyn. I know you're busy with your patients," Eveline replied, unfazed. She understood that Sherlyn wasn't an ordinary person.
Sherlyn smiled knowingly and looked at Eveline.
"You know, your words really got to your uncle. He was sulking on the phone after I declined him because of you," Sherlyn said with an amused smile.
"He shouldn't be. I already warned him that tonight was mine, and he should find something else to do in the meantime," Eveline replied with a nonchalant shrug.
"Still, I doubt he'll let us be, especially since I've been neglecting him for a while," Sherlyn added matter-of-factly.
Eveline glanced around for a few seconds before Sherlyn's voice drew her attention back.
"So, what brings you here?" Sherlyn asked, seizing Eveline's focus.
