The next morning, Kaden's unexpected visit to the Miller mansion raised quite a few eyebrows. A man who had barely remembered his family since getting engaged, it was surprising to see him finding his way back to them.
"Uncle, did you lose your memory or something?" Eveline teased, giving Kaden a playful smirk.
He furrowed his brows at her remark, but before he could respond, she continued with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"You must have lost your way here."
Laughter erupted around the dining table as the rest of the family joined in on the joke.
Erna, just as surprised as the others by her brother's sudden appearance, decided to prod further.
"Tell me, Kaden, what brings you here?" She asked, playing along with her daughter's teasing, making sure her brother didn't get too comfortable.
Kaden sighed. "Do you want me to leave? Because I'm really not liking these weird looks you're all giving me."
