"Hmm," Qiao Xiguan said.
Wa Da looked at her but didn't utter a word.
Qiao Xiguan's lips curved into a slight smile, "I'll be waiting for you in Shanghai."
Wa Da laughed, though his smile was somewhat sarcastic.
It scoffed at her naivety.
Biting her lip, Qiao Xiguan ignored Wa Da's expression and said, "I'm leaving now, take care of yourselves."
Wa Da nodded slightly and took the lead down the stairs.
Gu Zichen held onto Qiao Xiguan's hand, unconsciously tightening his grip, leading her downstairs. Then everyone in the living room watched with ceremonial attention as Gu Zichen and Qiao Xiguan left, exiting the hall and passing through the elegant garden path, where several sentries stood guard, meticulous and orderly.
Gao Song was already waiting at the entrance.
A military off-road vehicle was parked at the door, and Gao Song gestured for Qiao Xiguan to get in.
"Gu Zichen, I'm leaving first," Qiao Xiguan said, and then she let go of his hand.
