The oak desk was well organised, with files stacked neatly on top of each other, along with pens and papers.
The office was filled with luxuriously designed vases and ornamental pieces. The walls were painted a light blue colour, and there was a large window on one of the walls.
It was very open and spacious, with a lot of natural light coming in through the windows.
There were two leather chairs in front of the desk as well as a couch along one wall. At the left side of his office was an adjoining parlour.
The office was a perfect place for a boss to work.
Everything seemed to be in its place in this room, which was good for someone who had so much on their mind.
Aaron continued working on his laptop when suddenly he heard the sound of his phone ringing. He tilted his head to the side and looked at his phone screen.
'Really now! can't a man ask for a little peace during his work time?' he sighed and finally picked up his phone
Aaron groaned as he gazed at the number, knowing his mother had something to ask him or make him do.
She had never bothered him before, but if she calls at this hour, it will be for something really serious.
"Mrs. Moore?" Aaron greeted.
"Where are you?"
"Me? At the African ocean. Why?" He asked and could sense her mother's eyes narrowing at nothing in particular. He heard her say.
"Shut up! And listen." Aaron looked at the door and focused his attention towards her mother. "Hannah is in front of the reception. Go and take her to Allen."
"What is she doing here? I clearly said that the girl should not come agai-"
"Shut up and do what exactly I say. How can you address your biological mother in such a way? I didn't grow you up only to hear from you."
There was a pause and he thought why she even stop shouting for a brief second before she continued again.
"Go down and speak to her politely. Don't you even think about sending your useless assistant there and also alert your so-called workers about her. How dare they stop-" he grumbled as he hung up the call.
Face flushed with rage and disbelief, fists clenched. Aaron massaged his hands together to ease the strain and worry on his face.
"What she did to my mom... So-called and useless? My workers? This is unbelievable." Aaron rose up and took his coat, which was on the rack. He sighed, examined himself in the mirror, and went out.
He would definitely send his assistant to accompany her to his father's office, but here, his mother was acting like a mother-in-law.
Aaron wasn't her husband; he should have to go down to welcome her to his company. She really accepted the offer after what happened last night, he thought, and shook his head.
He thought that the girl would let go of the opportunity to work with Moore just because of him.
She was smart and cunning at the same time. She didn't have shame and accepted their offer to work with them.
Not just this, but she made his mother dance all over her and made his brother and father stand by her too.
He had no idea what was so special about her that his entire family was so happy to have her.
And here he was getting angry and jealous over a mere girl like her, wasting his precious time to go and welcome her to the company. Unbelievable.
Aaron walked out of his office with his hands in his pockets and his hair perfectly set. Even his attire made him appear more handsome than he was.
His steps were slow, and he intentionally walked slowly so that she had to wait more for him. He nodded at the heads that bowed to him.
A few female workers did stop their work and jerk their heads to look at him as if they hadn't seen him before.
Aaron didn't notice their reaction, as his mind was on the girl who was waiting for him on floor 1.
They watched as he walked towards the elevator, still looking around at all of the people in this building.
Some were talking on their phones, some were typing away on computers, and others were just walking back and forth like they had somewhere important to be.
It was a very rare occasion to see Aaron leave his office looking like that. The place was buzzing with excitement, and everyone wanted to know what had happened.
He pressed the button of his private elevator, and when the lift came, he stepped inside alone. Pushing the button for Floor 1.
He checked his watch, which indicated 1 p.m., and then looked ahead of him.
He shook his head and grinned alone. "She is fucked up." He murmured to himself.
He looked at the walls and bit his lip to laugh out loud. Aaron didn't know, but this situation was so funny for him.
First, he didn't expect her to accept the offer, and second, if she were here, no one would have let her in. He chuckled this time, genuinely.
The elevator door opened, and his smile vanished. He put a blank and cold expression on his face again, as if he hadn't been grinning a moment ago. . .
Aaron walked out and was again greeted by some workers who were passing by. He looked around, but she wasn't there, so he walked towards the reception area. Hands were in pockets, and hair was pulled back.
He stopped near the reception, and the receptionist, the same girl, looked at him attentively.
"Sir!" She bowed. "Do you need anything?" She blinked her eyes purposefully trying to look cute.
But Aaron didn't look at her more than a second before he glanced around to spt her but she was nowhere near the reception.
The girl was surprised and shocked to see the Vice President down there, standing near her.
"There's a girl. Her name is..." he said, looking at the wall and then thinking about what her real name was.
He had called her with different types of names in his mind and didn't know her actual name. Although, his mother said her name, he didn't remember it.
"She has long hair and... height nea..rr this." he gestured thinking about the difference between his and her height. "Have you?" The receptionist looked perplexed at Aaron, as if she had been asked difficult questions in viva.
She didn't know how to answer his question. She had even forgotten about Hannah to think about the girl he was probably asking about.
"Are you looking for me? Vice President, Aaron Moore?"
Both of them looked towards the source of voice and saw Hannah standing there.
Hands cross on the chest and bag hanging on her shoulder. His eyes got softer looking at her wrapped in a barbie dress. She looked like a real Barbie to him.
He stared at her from head to toe, observing every inch of her body in his view.
The reception girl's eyes widened; she stared at Aaron and then at Hannah with a nervous and anxious gaze.
She felt jealous of the girl all of a sudden.
When she saw Aaron didn't say anything to the girl. She collected her courage and spoke.
"What are you still doing here? I told you to get out. Senior Moore will never meet you. Go away." She tried to shoo Hannah away as if she was a fly she was irritated by.
At this point, she even forgot that she was standing in front of the vice president. Instead of talking with politeness, she was rude to the visitors.
Aaron Moore's head snapped at her voice. He narrowed his gaze at her, whose eyes were fixed on the girl standing opposite to him.
He never knew his workers were this rude to their clients. No wonder his mother referred to them as "so-called" and "useless" workers.
