"What the hell did I just go through?!" Drevan shouted, riding alongside Morwen as they passed through the gates of Orleth Fortress.
He guided his stallion with a steady hand and moved closer to Morwen, who kept her eyes fixed on the horizon.
"Hey, Morwen, I still can't believe it. I was sitting at the same table as the Scourges… and the Cursed Serpent! Do you realize that? That guy we've heard about for generations… and when we saw him, he didn't even look older than us!"
Morwen let out a loud sigh, seemingly annoyed at being pulled from her thoughts, and gave Drevan a weary look.
"I'm sure that with evolution, all creatures see their lifespan increase. So, it makes sense that a Calamity-class creature would still be young after a century."
Drevan nodded, lifting his gaze to the sun already high in the sky. Around them, the landscape was nothing but ruins, ashes, and scorched earth.
