As Hannah shouted, Lucas opened his eyes, on the ground in front of Estrella, just as the same sensation Hannah and Jack Schneider had felt arrived. His expression was calm, as he let the membrane that felt like water touch him. He let It kiss his exposed skin, but that was all. The membrane couldn't go beyond, as if he was a monolithic block.
Lucas looked from side to side, tracing the directions the membrane came from as if he could see the aliens serving as the nodes for it over in the distance beyond all obstacles. He closed his eyes back, and suddenly his muscles tightened for a split-second. It was like a spring that coiled then snapped back.
A subtle hum left his body, and the air shook, twisting and distorting all over the warehouse. The membrane that just left Lucas' body suddenly snapped and turned into light, almost weightless drops of water that dispersed, like vapor, and melted away.
