"Miss Hannah, I don't think I am that old, please don't insult me."
Hannah raised an eyebrow with a hint of indifferent mockery, adding a silent arrow to Jack's heart, an arrow he could only grit his teeth on, before defending himself:
"Ahem… Anyway, we are in a new era now, and age is not valued the same way as before…"
Hannah's calm gaze made the man's voice weaken until he could not go on with the arguments he had come up with. The woman said nothing, and simply turned away. Jack let out a silent exhale of relief from surviving the last wish he had made a little too soon, only to choke midway because of what Hannah said.
