Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Escape

The door was locked, his feet had blisters, and worst of all, he was sore all over. He had not thought this through. If he were to try and break down the door, he would be heard, and he would have to pay dearly for it.

He could not scream for help for obvious reasons. And he sure as hell couldn't wait for help.

'Bloody hell Harry, you should have waited a bit longer,' He thought to himself with distain. Then again, if he waited longer, who knows what would have happened to him once those two got back. They could have decided to actually kill him.

Harry looked around the room in desperation, with the goal of finding a way out. He searched frantically for a way out, until it came to him like a miracle. A small piece of wire lying uselessly on the floor by the corner of the room.

It must have broken off of the rod they had used to hit him with. Finally, Pain solved his problem. He took the small thin wire, and twisted the end until it looked like a hook. He was going to pick the lock. He thanked all the gods above that they used a key-in-hole type lock .

They had underestimated him. Either that, or there were guards at the other end of the door. He slid the wire through the key hole to make sure there was no key on the other side stopping him from picking the lock. Luckily it went straight through.

He jiggled and twisted the wire until he heard the familiar sound of the door clicking open. Something he dreaded until now. Harry opened the door slightly enough to see the other side, before peeking through the small slit. The coast was clear.

He slipped out of the room, before shutting the door gently behind him. The hallway was empty, but there seemed to be only one way out, and that was through the living room. He was too weak to fight back. What now? It's time to Wing it. He survived this far on pure luck, it's now or never. He limped toward the large oak wood door.

He pushed open the door, that let out an infuriating creak, before peeking in...Empty?! Now this was way too easy, it had to be a trap. He looked around 5 times, still nothing. 'What is going on?'

Then it hit him. The pungent smell of gasoline. It was so strong that he could not ignore it. A wave of nausea overcame him, but that wasn't the worst feeling as of now; with the missing fingernails, 3 broken ribs and shattered knee cap this was paradise. He limped forward to the front door to find it covered with a wet substance. Gasoline. It slid to the floor and unto the mat underneath. It didn't take a genius to figure out what was going on...they were going to burn the house down...with him in it.

Was all this necessary? They could have drowned him, tie him to a car and drag him along the streets, literally stab him to death. But nooooo, burning him alive along with the house (Manor in this case) was much better.

Harry looked around frantically for an escape route, but all the other doors were boarded up along with all the windows. Well, not all of them. There was a window at the far end of the room. But that was far to easy. It could be locked.

Plus, what kind of idiot tries to burn down a house with someone in it (on purpose, mind you), locks every exit, except for the window? Harry would be a fool to try and open it, but it wouldn't hurt to make an effort. He limped toward the window with his strength. With a deep breath he lifted the window...'It Opened?! What kind of dumbass would...not now Harry.' It didn't matter, he had an escape, so there was no time to waste.

"I really lucked out on that one." He muttered. He used his arms to pull himself up and out of the window. Resulting in a mouth of full of leaves and a stiff back.He was so glad that he was on the ground floor. He looked around, but nothing was familiar. All he saw was trees, trees and more trees. The manor was built in the middle of a forest.

Guess they weren't that dumb. They were planning on this happening. If Harry was able to somehow escape, he wouldn't get far with his injuries. Even if he did, the wild animals would get to him first, so it's either him or them.

The sun was about to set so it wasn't that hard to navigate around the area. The manor was fixated on top of a hill, with a fence surrounding it, and a mechanical gate placed in the middle.

Every step he took felt like torture. His feet were bare, so he kept stepping on small pieces of gravel and stones. The massive headache was not helping his case either. Once Infront of the gate, he took hold of the opening and forced it open. Not even 3 minutes in, the building exploded. The shockwave sent Harry tumbling down the steep and rocky hill.

He didn't know what to be afraid of the most; the fact that he would live to see another day, or the fact that this could happen all over again. What he wouldn't give to walk away from all the troubles of the world in just one go. He contemplated offing himself multiple times but that was of no use.

He finally came to stop before a smirk overtook his features, "I wonder if Dumbledore will let him of the hook for that one."
