Viola Harris's weak voice came through, "Amelia, I'm feeling terrible..."
Amelia Clarke was startled, "Viola? Where are you?"
"Hotel..." The voice so weak it seemed it could cut off at any moment, "I want some water..."
Amelia knew Viola had booked a room at the hotel she had been married in and planned to stay there until school started. Hearing her voice, which was as frail as a thread, she might be sick.
Owen Moreland had gone to Time Enchantment City for lunch to meet with his friends from abroad.
Amelia dialed his number.
As far as she knew, the hotel where she was married was owned by Bowe, but she didn't have the hotel's number and would need some time to get there.
The call rang twice before it was picked up.
"Amelia." A voice, deep and slightly warm.
"Viola seems to be sick in her hotel room. Can you have the hotel's waiter check on her?" Amelia got straight to the point, her voice filled with worry.
Owen Moreland didn't delay, saying, "Don't worry," then hung up.
