Kaito Akaden Chapter 155
The ground cratered violently, red lightning arcing wildly as it charred everything in its path—including Orochimaru's body.
As the dust settled, Kaito stood over the scorched remains of the Sannin, watching as they slowly melted into mud.
A few meters away, Orochimaru reappeared, his golden eyes narrowing as he clutched a bleeding hand.
Licking his lips, he chuckled. "You've gotten quite strong, Kaito-kun."
Kaito scoffed, crossing his arms. "Nah. You guys are just weak." He tilted his head slightly, eyes sharp. "I thought the Sannin were supposed to be strong, but so far, you've all been disappointing. What can I expect, though? You only got the title Sannin after losing to Hanzo. Weaklings."
Orochimaru's smirk faltered for the briefest moment before returning.
He began sinking into the ground, the earth swallowing him like a living swamp.
"You can keep Kimimaro if you want," he said, his voice still carrying that unsettling amusement. "I'll find other amusements."
With one last eerie chuckle, he vanished beneath the ground, leaving nothing behind.
Kaito exhaled, shaking his head. "Man, that guy is creepy as hell."
….
The moonlight softly illuminated the snow-covered landscape, casting a pale glow over the Village Hidden in the Mist and its surroundings.
A thick mist rolled through the land, cloaking the area in an eerie, suffocating veil—the very mist that had given Kirigakure its name.
On a hill overlooking the village, hidden behind a genjutsu, a lone Kiri shinobi sat atop a thick tree branch. His back rested lazily against the tree trunk, his left leg swinging idly in the cold night air.
This was Kaito, still disguised as a Kiri ninja.
His eyes were closed, head tilted back against the bark, but he wasn't sleeping. Instead, he was using his Mind's Eye of Kagura, quietly observing everything happening within the village below.
It had been two days since the Kaguya clan's attack.
After taking Kimimaro to the original Kaito, the clone had returned to monitor the aftermath of the Kaguya clan's attempted coup d'état.
What he discovered was worse than he had expected.
The situation in Kirigakure had deteriorated even further.
By the time Kaito's clone returned, Yagura had already issued orders—his men were to hunt down and kill any remaining Kaguya clan members, including women and children who had not been involved in the rebellion.
When Kaito's clone had sensed what was happening, he rushed over, hoping to save at least a few.
But by the time he arrived—
It was already over.
The entire Kaguya clan compound had been set ablaze.
The women and children—innocent people who had never fought—were all dead.
Later that day, Yagura convened a meeting, publicly declaring that he had wiped out the Kaguya Clan in its entirety as punishment for their treason.
Kaito infiltrated the meeting, blending in with the crowd to hear what Yagura would say.
Inside the council chambers, Yagura sat at the head of the room, his elbows resting on the table, fingers steepled together as the room settled into tense silence.
Murmurs and hushed conversations filled the space—whispers of fear, uncertainty, and disbelief.
Finally, Yagura spoke, his voice calm, yet ice-cold.
"As you all know, earlier today, the Kaguya clan launched an attack against us. As a result, all members of their clan have been dealt with."
His expression remained blank, emotionless.
"That includes their women and children."
The room fell deathly silent.
Not a single person dared to speak.
Yagura's gaze slowly swept over the gathered officials, his piercing red eyes holding them all in place.
"Let this serve as a warning to everyone present."
His voice carried a dangerous finality—an unspoken threat that settled deep in the bones of everyone in the room.
"If any of you dare to oppose my rule as the Fourth Mizukage…"
He let the words hang in the air before finishing,
"The same fate awaits you."
Yagura's voice remained calm, yet chillingly firm as he continued,
"Let this serve as a warning to everyone present. If any of you wish to oppose my rule as the Fourth Mizukage… the same fate awaits you."
A tense silence filled the room.
The clan heads and high-ranking jonin clenched their fists at Yagura's declaration, their expressions dark.
Kaito, hidden among them, gritted his teeth.
'What the fuck is wrong with Obito? He just goes around committing genocide like it's nothing… just because Rin died?'
His fists tightened at the sheer senselessness of it all.
Yagura leaned back in his chair, as if completely unbothered by the heavy atmosphere.
"As a result of today's events, I am also revoking all rights bestowed upon the clans."
The room erupted.
Clan leaders and high-ranking shinobi stood up in outrage, their voices rising in protest.
"You can't do that!"
"This is madness!"
"The village was built by our clans!"
The anger in the chamber swelled until Yagura released a wave of bijū chakra.
The room froze.
A suffocating, crushing pressure filled the air, forcing everyone into silent submission.
Yagura's eyes bore into them, his voice sharp as a blade. "That includes all the clans." Each word was deliberate. Final.
With that, he stood and left the room without another word.
The moment the meeting ended, the clan heads rushed back to their respective homes to discuss Yagura's decree.
It didn't take long for them to reach a conclusion.
Yagura had to be removed.
That very night, the leaders of the clans held a secret meeting with high-ranking Mist shinobi—those who had grown tired of Yagura's rule.
Kaito had no need to infiltrate this meeting directly. Instead, he observed from a distance, using his Mind's Eye of Kagura to watch everything.
Among the gathered shinobi, Kaito recognized several familiar figures. One of them was Mei Terumi, whom he had met during the Chunin Exams. Another was Mangetsu Hozuki, who wielded the Hiramekarei. Then there was Zabuza Momochi, currently without the Kubikiribōchō and instead carrying dual katana, which made Kaito think, 'Huh, I thought he'd have the sword by now. I recall him having it when he recruited Haku.'
Also present were Kurosuki Raiga, who wielded the Kiba Blades, and Fuguki Suikazan, the man who had possessed Samehada before Kisame.
From what Kaito could gather, the clan leaders and Kiri rebels were done with Yagura.
They had decided.
The assassination of the Fourth Mizukage would happen.
The plan was set. Each group had its role to play.
Now, Kaito sat perched on his high vantage point, using his Kagura's Mind Eye to watch everything unfold in the village below.
Kaito watched as Zabuza, Mangetsu, and the various clan heads gathered at the far eastern side of the village.
After a brief discussion, they silently made their way toward the Mizukage's residence.
At the same time, Kaito sensed a large force of clan shinobi positioned outside the village.
He narrowed his eyes. 'So that's their plan, huh? The clan forces would create multiple distractions around Kirigakure, forcing Yagura's loyalists to respond. This would leave Yagura himself vulnerable, allowing Zabuza's team to infiltrate and assassinate him.'
Kaito sighed. 'It's a good plan… but it's doomed to fail.'
He already knew that Zetsu had most likely overheard everything and relayed their plans to Obito. The rebels had no idea they were walking straight into a trap.
Kaito was pulled from his thoughts when multiple explosions erupted at the village walls.
....
moments before, Mangetsu, Zabuza, and the clan heads surrounded the Mizukage's residence.
Zabuza raised his hand, signaling the group.
The moment his hand dropped, they all performed the Hidden Mist Jutsu in unison.
A thick, suffocating mist rapidly blanketed the entire village, reducing visibility.
Just then, explosions rang out from multiple points along the village walls, shaking Kirigakure to its core.
Shinobi throughout the village immediately rushed toward the explosions, believing the village was under external attack.
With the Mizukage's elite forces drawn away, Zabuza led his assassination squad into the Mizukage's residence, moving like silent phantoms through the mist.
They cut down the stationed guards effortlessly, their bodies falling without a sound.
Mangetsu glided through the compound, his Hiramekarei carving through enemies with precise, fluid strikes.
The other clan heads followed suit, eliminating any remaining guards as they searched for Yagura.
They reached the top of the Mizukage's residence. Only to find Yagura already waiting for them.
The Fourth Mizukage stood calmly, his arms folded behind his back. His gaze, however, wasn't on them, He was still looking in the direction of the explosions.
Zabuza didn't hesitate. he appeared behind Yagura, his katana slashing toward the Mizukage's neck, aiming to bisect him in one strike.
SHINK!
Yagura didn't even flinch. With ease, he blocked the attack with his staff, still staring at the distance.
Then, he spoke without turning his head. "I was beginning to think you wouldn't show up." His voice was calm, as if he had been expecting them all along. Slowly, he glanced at Zabuza from the corner of his eye.
The room froze. The Terumi Clan Head was the first to react. His voice was shaky as he muttered, "You… you planned for this?"
"Damn it!" Zabuza growled, gritting his teeth as he pushed against Yagura with all his strength but it didn't even budge the Mizukage.
Mangetsu didn't wait for them to finish talking. he appeared above Yagura and swung Hiramekarei while it glowed with chakra, releasing multiple chakra-infused slashes aimed straight at Yagura.
Zabuza quickly jumped away.
Yagura, however, effortlessly blocked each and every chakra blade with his staff, the attacks bouncing off harmlessly.
He let out a disappointed sigh.
"You'll need to do more than that if you want to kill me." he formed a single hand seal. "Wind Release: Passing Typhoon."
A strong gust of wind roared through the surroundings and blew away the thick mist that had covered the area.
Yagura rolled his shoulders and smirked. "Well, that's a lot better." His gaze flickered between Zabuza, Mangetsu, and the various clan heads who had gathered to kill him.
He tilted his head slightly, completely unfazed.
"Now then... shall we begin?"
One of the clan heads immediately ran through a series of hand signs, "Water Release: Water Dragon Jutsu!"
A massive water dragon surged forward, twisting and roaring as it charged at Yagura.
But Yagura didn't even move. Instead, he raised his palm, and in an instant, *a mirror-like wall of water formed in front of him. *With his staff, Yagura pulled the mirror downward, and from within it An identical Water Dragon emerged, perfectly copying the first one.
Both jutsu clashed mid-air, exploding into a spray of water, canceling each other out.
Above the water dragon, the Terumi Clan Head appeared in the air, his chest swelling as he spewed a."Lava Release: Melting Apparition Technique!"
A huge torrent of molten lava spewed down toward Yagura, threatening to engulf him completely.
Yagura merely gestured with his hand as the surrounding water formed into a water dragon coiling upward in defense.
The two techniques collided, steam hissing violently as the lava was rapidly cooled, turning into hardened stone mid-air before it could reach him.
the other clan head appeared beside Yagura, swinging his sword down in a desperate attempt to cleave the Mizukage in half.
Yagura blocked it effortlessly, his staff meeting the blade.
With a flick of his wrist, he knocked the sword aside, unbalancing the attacker.
Before the man could recover
**SHLKT!
Yagura formed a water blade and sliced clean through the man, splitting him in half.
The lifeless body crumpled to the ground.
Mangetsu reappeared behind Yagura, his Hiramekarei raised for a vertical slash, aiming to cleave the Mizukage.
But just as his sword came down Yagura simply sidestepped, dodging the attack effortlessly.
With a single palm strike to Mangetsu's back, he sent him flying across the battlefield.
The moment Mangetsu crashed into the ground, coral rapidly began to grow along his back, binding him in place.
But instead of struggling, Mangetsu's body liquefied, shifting into a watery form and reforming a short distance away—completely free of the coral.
Yagura sighed, shaking his head.
"I was expecting more from you." His eyes narrowed, disappointment flashing across his face. "You're all so... weak."
Yagura's eyes gleamed coldly as he shifted his stance.
"Now, it's my turn."
Without a warning, he rushed forward, closing the distance between himself and the Terumi Clan Head in an instant.
With a single strike of his staff, he slammed the ground in front of the man, sending a wave of water rushing toward him.
The Terumi Clan Head barely managed to leap to the side, avoiding the rushing tide only to come face to face with Yagura.
'Too fast.' he thought but Before he could react, Yagura spun, delivering a brutal kick to his ribs and slamming him into the floor.
Before he could recover Yagura slammed his staff once more into the ground, and from beneath him, massive coral spikes erupted upward.
One of them pierced straight through his chest.
The Terumi Clan Head coughed up blood, his eyes wide in shock.
The battle was over for him.
Zabuza, seeing the assassination attempt had failed, gritted his teeth.
"Tch. This isn't gonna work."
Without hesitation, he body flickered away, vanishing. leaving Mangetsu alone.
Mangetsu reappeared above Yagura, swinging Hiramekarei in a wide arc.
CLANG!
Yagura blocked it effortlessly with his staff, not even turning his head.
But Mangetsu had planned for that.
A clone of Mangetsu suddenly appeared beside Yagura, its hands forming a gun-like shape.
"Mizudeppō no Jutsu!"
A compressed blast of water shot out from the clone's fingertips, striking Yagura directly in the head.
The impact sent Yagura flying, his body crashing into the ground.
Mangetsu sighed, panting slightly. "Did I get him?"
For a moment, there was only silence.
Then A low chuckle."That was a really powerful attack."
The dust cleared, revealing Yagura slowly standing up, wiping a shattered coral fragment from his cheek.
He looked at Mangetsu, his expression unreadable.
"It almost got me."
Then, his chakra surged violently.
A dark red aura erupted around him, the oppressive presence of his bijū chakra filling the air.
A translucent red chakra cloak began to form around his body.
Mangetsu's eyes narrowed. "He's using his Bijū mode… I can't win this." He could already sense Mist shinobi approaching from the distance—loyalists answering their Mizukage's call.
Mangetsu made his decision.
But before he could act, he was suddenly bisected in two—only for both halves to turn into water.
Yagura scoffed. "A water clone, huh?"
Taking advantage of the distraction, the real Mangetsu darted through the forest surrounding the Hidden Mist Village. However, he didn't get far. Just as he reached the treeline, he was forced to dodge a circular blade of water.
He barely twisted out of the way, but not fast enough—the blade cleanly severed his left arm. Mangetsu gritted his teeth, clutching the dripping remains of his limb as water pooled on the ground.
Looking up, he saw Yagura standing atop a tree, still cloaked in his bijū chakra. Yagura's voice echoed through the mist, cold and taunting. "You think you can get away from me that easily?"
