Chapter 75 - Chapter 75 - One year later 02.

[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]

Third Person POV.

Westeros.

...

...

"I think you're ready for anything..." Daenerys commented as she saw Jon well-dressed with his cloak.

"I think so..." Jon replied, looking at his clothes while nodding, sensing Val approaching with Ygritte.

"So you're here then..." Val commented as she approached with Ygritte, entering their tent. "What are all those giant wolves at the door? Did you bring them with Lucis? They're in the middle of the tent entrance, we could barely get in," she asked, curious and somewhat indignant.

"Yes... and how did Ghost react to them?" Jon had ordered through his bond that none of them attack each other, but still, he asked curiously, sending a direct look at the rather large animal. Jon had helped with some potions to enhance his growth over the past year, so much so that the wolf was nearly two meters tall, bigger than any other wolf he had bonded with.

"He passed by calmly, but knowing these animals, he will clearly fight to be the alpha," Ygritte answered Jon.

The dragonborn let his aunt approach his wolf, running her hand through its fur, stroking it under the neck while rubbing it slightly.

"And so he will be. There is no wolf stronger or faster than this one, I made sure of it," Jon said with a smile, while the wolf gave him a somewhat indignant look. After all, Jon had asked him to stay with his women while he headed south alone with Lucis, without him—especially since he had returned with 18 other giant wolves.

"They are yours to command, buddy," Jon said as he stepped aside from the wolf and turned back to the women. "We have some time. How about we eat something? I bet you already know about the meeting I'm calling," Jon said as he approached the table, with Daenerys being the first to come closer.

"What will you say at this meeting? You're going south again, aren't you?" Ygritte accused him with an intense look. She seemed to hate the idea.

"Yes, and before you say anything, I can't take anyone with me. I'll be going alone this time," Jon said in a serious tone.

"That is kind of frustrating, you know?" She didn't hold back a growl, as always, the most intense. While Daenerys was calm but at the same time somewhat hesitant, Val seemed to have the best reasoning with her emotional control.

"How long? You know we could be attacked by monsters, right?" Val asked.

"I know that very well, and I will be here—just not physically," Jon said, looking at Ghost, who was resting in a corner, his size comparable to the bed they slept in. "Also..." Jon continued. "I'll be with Winter. If I detect any major danger around the camp, I'll be back within a day—the same time it takes to fly to King's Landing."

"I believe in you, Jon," Val said, accepting Jon's plans. After all, he always knew what to do.

"Damn..." Ygritte still seemed dissatisfied.

"I'll be back before you even notice," Jon said calmly to her, placing a hand on her thigh while she pouted.

"Anyway, let's eat. I still have some things I brought from the south when I went to Winterfell," he said, placing well-preserved food on the table, stored with his magic in his dimensional space. They wouldn't find anything similar for the next 1,500 kilometers—after all, only the Starks had the privilege of having such things in Winterfell. Not that they truly lived in luxury, but they kept a stock for when the king visited.

Without saying anything, Daenerys drank the wine. Jon raised an eyebrow at her.

"I'm thirsty," she replied, while he shrugged and they ate and drank for a while.

"Jon..." Daenerys murmured, slightly unsteady. After hours, she was drunk.

"Why did she drink so much..." Ygritte couldn't help but complain as Daenerys tried to hug Jon, drunk.

"You overdid it a little if you were this weak for it, Dany..." Jon murmured, watching her trying to reach him while Ygritte held her back with a frustrated look.

"She's not the only one," Val murmured, while on the bed, someone else was also sprawled when Lucis joined them.

"Where's my husband..." she mumbled, burping, not seeming shy at all.

The only ones who drank in moderation were Jon, Val, and Ygritte, precisely because of the upcoming meeting. But in the end, it seemed Ygritte would have to stay behind, and that irritated her.

"You called me Dany, are you going to steal me?" she said, looking at him, slightly dizzy, after leaving Ygritte behind.

"..." Jon didn't answer her. After all, it was obvious that she wanted that, but he had never given her an opening or shown interest.

"Sorry, aunt. But I need you intact for something else, no matter how hot you are," Jon replied calmly, touching his aunt's head, making her pass out the next moment. He had to set her aside—she was drunk, and he wanted her to remain a virgin.

He picked her up and asked Ygritte to lay her on the bed, along with a drunken Lucis.

"You really don't want to take her as yours? It's obvious she wants you... And even if she's your aunt, is it really that strange? I heard your family married brother to sister..." Val said, approaching him.

"I need to put someone back on the throne, and since I will play the role of the demon when I invade the South, I'll place Daenerys there to reconcile all the kingdoms I will destroy," Jon said, watching Ygritte place his aunt next to Lucis, who was also asleep.

"Jon..." Daenerys murmured, drooling on the pillows.

"She will be the queen of the South?" Val looked somewhat surprised while making a slight grimace at Daenerys.

"It's the only way I can achieve my revenge and restore our family to power. After all, if I take the throne myself, I will be an eternal demon to all the Seven Kingdoms. Not that it truly threatens me, but I must be careful for those who will come after me. I will make everyone understand what happens when someone raises a sword against House Targaryen. This is my role, and they will all remember me this way..." Jon said.

Besides, he had no interest in the bureaucracy of being a king. His free lifestyle was far better than dealing with nobles constantly making demands while he had to care for all the kingdoms. To Jon, only a fool would want that when he had the power to live as he pleased. He never cared about ruling over people; it was irritating for the dragonborn, and his aunt would play the role much better than he would.

"Anyway." He saw Val nodding in agreement with his reasoning and then turned back to Ygritte. "You'll stay with them. I'll leave the 18 wolves at the tent while I go speak with the leaders. I'll take only Ghost—and Val, of course," Jon said.

"This is unfair... but I'll stay..." Ygritte murmured.

Jon just winked at her and walked out, followed by Val and Ghost right behind him. He could feel Winter watching him as the darkness consumed the sky. She was in her nest, staring at him, already sensing his presence after days away. He had ordered her not to follow him, as he didn't want her to scare the wolves again.

They then walked past the tribe's fires, already lit, as the people watched Jon with interest. There wasn't another meeting like the one he had held when he took control of the entire tribal camp, but they knew tonight's meeting was important—after all, their king only called them together to discuss serious matters.

Jon had trained each of them personally over the past year. Everyone had direct contact with him and respected him for it. He may not have spoken to every single person, but he had certainly spoken to most—and surprisingly, he knew everyone's name. This shocked the Free Folk, as he never once got a name wrong after learning it.

He had been personally training the army, using the open field to forge formations and ensure they could follow commands in the midst of battle so they would be prepared to face the South. Of course, an army from this people, trained for only a year, wouldn't stand a chance in a battle against an equal number of trained southern soldiers. But Jon only needed to keep them united and focused. No matter what crisis they faced, as long as the army stood together, he had a way to lead them to victory. After all, battles weren't won by numbers alone, and Jon was an experienced general. He would conquer all of Westeros with these men—whom no one considered a great threat to the kingdoms.

It didn't take long for him to reach a large tent. It wasn't Mance's, but one Jon had set up for them to meet when necessary. After all, he didn't want them entering the place where he lived with four women.

"Let's go," Jon commented as he approached the tent. The guards greeted him—both those stationed at the tent and those accompanying the leaders—out of the deep respect they held for him.

"I see everyone is already here..." Jon said, looking around at all the leaders present: Mance, Tormund, Karsi, Harma, Sixskins, Mag, and Styr. There was no new leader for the Bone Men tribes, as they had all left the camp after witnessing Jon consume a soul. No one wanted to be near him after that, and most others feared him even more than before—though some had grown rather comfortable with the soul-taker.

"We're waiting... It seems you have something for us. Did you find anything in the South besides bringing back an entire pack of giant wolves?" Mance asked as Jon positioned himself within the circle, with Val at his side.

"Not about my trip with my wife to get the wolves, but I do have something to announce. I'll leave that for later, though. First, I want to hear about what you've discovered over the past few days while I was away from the camp," Jon said.

"Well..." Mance was the one to speak. After all, he was Jon's spokesperson for news whenever he left, which was fairly often—about once or twice a month—handling matters and even fighting White Walkers while scouting the region with his warg powers. He had found tribes, even groups being pursued, and brought thousands of people into the camp this way.

Mance continued. "We have patrols in the North, since there have been sightings of suspicious activity and some storms. Our patrol in the West has disappeared... and we've come back with nothing from the East. There doesn't seem to be anything along the coast... Maybe we should move downward."

"We lost some of your fire swords in the West, then..." Tormund murmured.

Jon had created swords imbued with fire runes and given them to reconnaissance groups. He had forged more than 800 rune-inscribed swords, which had made the patrols much more prepared for the undead. But still, only Jon could truly defeat a White Walker—anyone else facing one meant certain death.

"I see... We need to strengthen the northern front, then. I'll leave that to you, Mance. You will take charge of the camp," Jon said, making everyone immediately look at him in surprise.

"What do you mean by that?" Mance asked—the same question on everyone's mind. Even Sixskins and Styr, who disliked Jon and likely always would, felt a certain respect for him through fear. They could recognize that he had transformed the Free Folk in just one year. After all, they themselves had fought in numerous battles against the White Walkers, with Jon leading them personally to train battle formations. It had become much easier to defeat the undead now that they all wielded fire rune swords, capable of holding back any enemy advance.

"Well, I'm heading south. To King's Landing," Jon said, making Mance raise an eyebrow even higher, the question practically written in his eyes: 'What are you planning to do there?!'

"I have a feeling something is about to happen—something that will change everything. I need to see it for myself. But I'll be only a day away if that worries you. I don't think we'll have problems with the army of the dead just yet. They're still hiding within the northern storms... I can't see exactly what's there, but they haven't moved... which is strange. It's almost as if they're waiting for something to happen..." Jon commented, thoughtful.

"You're planning to kill the fat king before we even head south? That sounds a bit disappointing..." Tormund remarked, looking at Jon.

"I don't know what's happening, but it's very likely he'll die anyway. My uncle seems to be in trouble. His wife isn't helping much and has put him in a bad situation. That would be disappointing for me—after all, you all know how much I love my dear uncle. I had hoped to meet him on the battlefield. And now he's become a crippled man," Jon said, unable to hide the hint of anger in his voice. But he continued.

"In any case, if they're going to die there, I will be there to witness it. I'll return after that—if something like that is truly going to happen..."

Jon would never let them die without him watching. But it would be interesting to see them perish at the hands of their own allies. He would make sure they saw him as they took their last breaths.

Raccoon here:

There is a possible Jonerys in the future, but at the moment, Jon doesn't see his aunt that way. I want to build a slow-burning romance, and Jon is being very rational in preserving Daenerys so she can take the throne and marry an ally to secure her power—even though she is visibly in love. But we'll see what happens. After all, he will be seen as a monster by all the lords of Westeros with his army devastating everything. Conspiracies will be constant, not just against him, but against his children and grandchildren. And Jon doesn't even want the throne. After all, with the power he has, would he really need to prove anything?

it's taking me 2 hours to finish the images...
