Trishanna rubbed her belly and back at the same time, before taking another sip of her tea. The head Omeaga and head cook, Mrs. Shine of Goldmoon, swore by this tea of lavender and camomile mix, and Trishanna agreed. It was soothing, and she always had one in the morning and one before bed. Her stomach grew in the past days, both Lorenzo and El saying that everything was fine, better than expected. El simply assured her that her pup was reacting well to her powers, and even though they haven't manifested outwardly, she felt the difference inside. El was sure that thanks to that, there was a high possibility that the pup would be an Alpha, and Trishanna hoped so, the memories of her omega state and treatment floating through her mind, but she shook her head. That was then, however, she's seen how much James has changed, and she knows that no matter what level her babe is, both James and Bradley will love him or her fiercely.
There was a knock and Lorenzo poked his head in, Nicole behind, her cute baby bump noticeable under her new uniform. Bradley shared that ever since he found her, pregnancy rates have almost doubled in the pack. She waved them in and awkwardly stood, shuffling her way to the bed. After the morning's routine exam, Lorenzo declared all is well, reminding her that she only has a few more weeks to go. With a smile at Nicloe, the two women rubbed their bumps at the same time, causing everyone to laugh. A quick knock and Bradley poked his head in, "What's so funny?" He walked in, heading straight for Trishanna, helping her to sit. She shook her head and smiled at him. "Just happy to know that everything is okay."
He looked at the doctor for confirmation, and at his nod, his shoulders relaxed. "That's always good to hear. I'm gonna take a shower and then we can go for our morning walk." He kissed his mate on her head, as Lorenzo and his left. Trishanna wriggled off the bed and headed to the closet for a light scarf to wrap around her. As she sifted through the new clothes both Bradley and James insisted on buying, she felt her pup stir, and there was a small whisper in her mind, a faint call that made her heart pound. The sound came again, a little clearer, and she swore it sounded like "Mommy". Her hands shaking, she held on to the wall, bent over as her pup seemed to grow more excited. She reached out to El, but even she was a bit confused. Her wolf heard the sound, but couldn't confirm if it was the unborn child reaching out to her. Bradley came in, his face tensed as he smelled a mixture of fear and concern coming from her. Before he could ask, his phone rang. He picked it up without looking at the caller ID, knowing who it would be. James' worried voice came over the line, so he put him on speaker.
"Trish, what's going on? I can feel something is happening. Is it time?" James asked, already putting on his jacket before deciding to remove it so he could shift and run to his mate. As her due date came near, both he and Bradley were beginning to take their protectiveness to a whole new level. "I'm fine, you guys", she shook her head, looking at Bradley's scowl, knowing James had a matching one. "It's just..." she paused and bit her lip. It was crazy to think that she could hear her pup, yet at Bradley's urging, she sighed and continued. "I'm not sure and neither is El, but I swear I heard the pup call me 'Mommy'."
James's shocked voice was so loud, it made her pup jump, and Trishanna instinctively stepped back from the phone. Bradley told him to calm down, and she could feel him trying to rein in his feelings. Bradley shook his head, "Hon, that can't be possible." Trishanna pouted, wanting it to be true. "I know it's not usually what happens, but what if in my homeland, this was common? What if wolves could communicate with their pups in the womb? I mean, who thought that I would be a princess from another realm and have a wolf?" Bradley shook his head, trying to wrap his mind around the possibilities. James, however, was much more open. "You're right, my love. Knowing what we do now, it is a possibility since we don't know what your powers may be." He muted the call for a few seconds before returning. "What I want to know is if everything else is fine?" Bradley answered, "Yes, Lorenzo was just here, and he said everything looks good. Our mate should be ready to give birth within the next two to three weeks. The pup is healthy, so is Trishanna".
James sighed, leaning back in his office chair. He rubbed his eyes as he hadn't been getting much sleep. He's been back for a few days, sorting out things he'd left undone and putting things in place, just in case. As if reading his mind, Trishanna asks, "James, have you told the pack yet about me being your mate?" James rubbed the back of his neck this time. "Not as yet. I wanted to get my stuff in order. A lot of things kinda fell behind after you came back and stole my heart and attention." He chuckled, "Besides, I haven't found the words to tell everyone that I share my mate with my sworn enemy." At his words, they all laughed. Trishanna took the phone from Bradley and walked away, taking him off speaker and putting it to her ears. "I know it's a lot, but I want you to know that I will be here, by your side." James' head sank into his chest, which felt close to bursting. He closed his eyes against the tears he felt, feeling her love wash over him, taking away all traces of loneliness he felt even as a child. "I swear, Trishanna, I will give you no reason to regret giving me this chance and accepting me as your mate." Trishanna smiled and blew him a kiss through the receiver. She encouraged him to get back to work so he could return.
Turning, she blinked back tears, not sure why, but was glad when Bradley enveloped her in his arms. She sniffed, looking up at him, thankful that she had these two amazing men in her life. Bradley rocked her gently, and after she stopped sniffing, he leaned back, wiping the few tears that escaped. "How about you wash your face and we go for our walk, hmmm?" Trishanna nodded, and after freshening up, they held hands and headed out. As they descended the stairs, Bruno passed by, seeming to head to the training grounds. His appearance gave Bradley an idea. Linking Sam, he asked for a meeting with his Beta and his mate Trixy. He also linked his aunt Cynthia. Maybe between all of them, they can figure out if this was even possible.
They made their way to the training grounds, where Trishanna saw Sammy doing drills with the warriors. She called to him, and Sammy turned, running to his best friend and little sister. Trishanna tried to move quickly, but her stomach made her look like a waddling duck, which Bradley simply thought was cute. They embraced like they hadn't seen each other in months, when they all had dinner together the night before. Sammy rubbed her stomach, the pup kicking as "Uncle Sammy" talked to him. He bragged about how he would teach the pup everything he knows, and when his "cousin", the pup, his mate Alexis, was carrying, how much fun the two of them would have. The warriors joked about him being whipped by his mate and the future Luna, but that just made a devilish smile spread across his face. He turned and ordered them to do thirty laps around the field, and if anyone else spoke, it would double. The men groaned, and he changed it to fifty. He arched a brow, and with one look, they all began to run. Trishanna laughed and lightly punched him in his arm. "You're being too hard on them", but Sammy shook his head. "They need to respect you, Luna, no matter what, isn't that right, Alpha?" Bradley his his smile and nodded solemnly. You are right, and they also need to listen to their new Delta. Sammy's eyes grew wide. "Me?" he squeaked. Bradley just nodded. "Not only have you been an asset in training my men when we were gone, you basically held down the fort, settled grievances and have a fair judgment no matter what. I want you to be my Delta, but we won't say anything until we gather the two packs together. It's going to be a time for surprises, and I think it's better to just get everything out. After that, we'll have our bonding ceremony, and I hope you and Alexis will have yours as well." He grabbed Trishanna and, looking down, he saw the smile of pure joy for her friend. "Besides, I would do anything to keep my mate here and happy, and what better way than to ensure you are part of my pack." Trishanna elbowed him in his ribs, and he feigned pain. "Owww... I need to ask Dr. Lorenzo if violent outbursts are a part of the late stages of pregnancy?" They laughed and, turning Trishanna around, they left the training grounds, heading to the path that takes them on the scenic route through their pack.
Trishanna felt her heart grow light at the thought of her friend being promoted. She was giddy with excitement and wished Rosie were here to see it. That thought made her a bit sad, and Bradley, sensing her mood, stopped walking, lifting her face to his. "What's wrong, love? I thought you would be happy for Sammy?" "I am", she whispered, "it's just that I wish Rosie were here to see it?" At Bradley's enquiry, Trishanna told him all about the woman you raised her at Bloodmoon and all that she did for her and Sammy. Bradley held her hand, squeezing when he felt she needed a bit of support to continue. They sat on one of the benches, and she finished telling her tale. Bradley hugged her. "She sounds like a remarkable woman. I wish I could have met her." Trishanna sniffed and looked up at her mate, marvelling at how much her life had changed. "Me too, she would have loved you." Bradley leaned back, pulling his mate with him. She snuggled into his shoulder, as the two sat there, soaking in the mid-morning sun filtering through the trees. It wasn't long before Bradley felt her body relax and soon a tiny snore drifted through her slightly parted lips. Bradley smiled, kissing her head. He reflected on all that she shared, wondering what he could do to honour the woman who raised his mate. As his eyes grew heavy with the gentle breeze, a small idea took root, beging to grow as he drifted off into a peaceful doze.
