Chapter 1 - the unwanted tutor

Sofia slouched at her desk, chin resting on her palm, eyes glaring at the account textbook in front of her. Numbers and symbols blurred together into an incomprehensible mess. She sighed dramatically.

"Why do I even need account? It's not like I'm going to become a accountant," she muttered.

Her mother, Aisha, appeared in the doorway, arms crossed. "Sofia, your tutor will be here in five minutes. Try to have a good attitude, okay?"

Sofia's head snapped up. "Tutor? What tutor?"who and why ?

"The one I hired because your last test score looked like you guessed every answer."

Sofia sat up straighter. "That's an exaggeration

Sofia sat at the back of the classroom her arms crossed tightly over her chest as her eyes darted to the clock on the wall. The seconds ticked by, each one slower than the last. She had been dreading this moment all week her mother's insistence on hiring a tutor for her, of all things, when she was perfectly capable of managing her studies on her own.

He probably would be bald and fatt and definitely gonna smell like an walking fat chalk

The door creaked open, and in walked the tutor. Sofia's gaze immediately fixed on him. Who are you?

Daelen.

He looked nothing like she imagined. His dark brown hair was slightly tousled, his eyes the color of warm amber, and he had a boyish charm to him. His casual black hoodie and jeans made him appear more like a college student than the serious academic she had been expecting. His expression was relaxed, confident, but not cocky—an aura of someone who knew their worth but didn't need to flaunt it.

Sofia rolled her eyes. A guy like him was the last person she wanted teaching her.

You're my senior how can you came up to teach me duh Sofia spoke

He made his way to the desk at the front of the room and gave a brief, easy smile to the class. "Hey everyone, I'm Daelen. I'll be helping out with the subjects you're struggling with. Don't worry, we'll keep things light and easy, and I'll do my best to make it as interesting as possible."

Sofia scoffed under her breath. Interesting? He looked like someone who would rather be anywhere but here.

The other students were buzzing with excitement. They were all enthralled by Daelen's easygoing nature, and Sofia could feel the sharp pang of jealousy rise in her chest. Why couldn't anyone see that he was the wrong choice for the job?

Her mother had explained to her over and over again that it was for her own good. She needed to improve her grades, especially in subjects like account and business study , where she just wasn't getting the hang of it. But Sofia didn't need a tutor. She didn't need anyone telling her what to do.

When Daelen turned toward the board to write something down, Sofia shot a quick glance at him. He was calm, collected, and seemed to have an effortless way of explaining things. It irritated her even more. She wasn't used to this. No one had ever taken the time to explain things to her in this way, so easy, so patient.

"You're Sofia, right?" His voice pulled her from her thoughts. He was looking at her now, those amber eyes not full of judgment but of curiosity.

She tried to hide her irritation behind a fake smile. "Yeah, that's me."

"Well, if you ever need help with anything," he said, flashing her that same soft smile, "I'm here."

She wanted to snap at him, tell him she didn't need his help, but something in his tone made her hesitate. Why was he being so kind?ew gross

The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and everyone gathered their things to leave. But Sofia stayed seated, unwilling to leave just yet. Daelen made his way over to her desk, his hands resting on the back of the chair as he looked down at her.

"I know it's a bit awkward," he said, his voice gentle, "but if you ever want to talk about anything, I'm here."

Sofia felt a stir of something in her chest. It wasn't gratitude. It wasn't even respect. But it was something she hadn't expected. "I don't need a tutor," she muttered.

He nodded, his expression softening. "I know, but sometimes we all need a little extra help. It's not a bad thing."

Sofia turned away, refusing to acknowledge the flicker of doubt creeping in. "I hummed ." And realised I was being mean but it wasn't like i behave always idk just after seeing him maybe because the way he was introduced to me I start hating him

As Daelen walked away, Sofia stared at the floor, her mind racing. She hated the way he made her feel. Weak. Vulnerable. She didn't want to admit it, but there was something about him, his kindness, that tugged at her, despite herself.

Excuse me! *I spoke softly*

He turned and said yeah

Actually I forgot my phone at home can I make call to my dad from your phone please he'll come to pick me up

I dialed dada's no.

After few minutes or so he came

I ran to hug him

Yes he was great model of his time but he quit it

Daelen saw his father and greeted him

Emris smiled and greeted back and left with Sofia

I looked outside the window of car he looked at
