It started silent, before her mother finally had enough of it and started talking.
"You girls have certainly been busy. Did you not miss me at all?"
As much as Leah wanted to share a look with Lucy, she refrained from it. She just looked up to her mother. "Of course, I missed you but it is not easy."
"A phone call in just three days? What is wrong with you? We texted every hour and now we have gone into a phone call once every three days? I expected that when you had your own family, but it's just too soon for that."
"I know, mum. I'm sorry. I promise I'll do better." it was sincere and I promise that it followed from her heart. Whatever ever happened, Emily did not accept that. Not her at least.
But on the other hand, she did not look entirely convinced. Yet, her mother in name did not hold onto it. "Well you apologized, I will let it go just once." She raised her upper finger, signing the situation. "Remember, no next time."
