"All warriors are the same," Aya sighed, watching me pace across her garden. She lived outside but had all the comforts of being indoors. "You lack the temperament to stay still when you're waiting for the fight."
"No, I have that," I glare at her, still running the perimeter of what you'd call her living room. "This isn't a fight though. I'm waiting around for something, and I don't know what it is. I'm in the... house of the most powerful witch in our universe, and the love of my life and mother of my children is in danger, and you've told me I could potentially lose her with a choice. Tell me one warrior who'd be calm."
The wolf whined beside one of the couches, but Aya said nothing.
