Nefretiri
I blinked, staring around the hall and realizing I was sitting in Van's chair.
The vibrance and life I'd seen were gone, leaving behind the darkness and shadow ghosts of the past. Somehow, it made everything seem suffocating and sad. This palace had been full of parties and laughter and represented the unity of something beautiful. Sadly, now it was a shell of what it was, and you felt the loss of my family who'd lived here.
I had difficulty processing everything I'd seen because it wasn't as if I looked at it from the outside. I'd lived that moment like it had just happened, and all the emotions were still raw. As a goddess, I'd been so protective of my family, and watching my baby sister suffer was something I hadn't been willing to do. Yet, in the end, it's been a beautiful moment. However, it was also a foreshadowing of the future.
My future.
"I'm dying," I whispered, accepting the truth with less conflict than I'd expected.
