I walked out and laughed merrily as I imprinted this moment to mind. Suddenly Brody came out of nowhere and asked to talk to me privately. The captain approved and we stepped aside. He looked annoyed, "That man you saw me talking to. You said you thought you were hallucinating. Did you kill him? We talk about this. You can't kill people in my hospital." I pretended to look shocked, "He's dead. What happened?" He growled, "You know what happened. You killed him somehow." I turned around and asked the nearest nurse where the security monitors were. I said to Brody, "If the recording shows I was near what's his name I apologize profusely but if it proves I wasn't. We let this paranoia go ok" he agreed to my terms. We observed the footage and Brody apologized to me.
I got out of the booth to see a few uniform cops huddling together. I ignored them as I walked past them. They gave me a bright smile. I was told to go home. I told the captain that I want to say goodnight before I go. I walked in and my uncle was unconscious so I walked out annoyed. One of the uniform cops wished me goodnight as the doors closed. I huffed and puffed as the elevator descended to the ground floor. Henry was waiting for me and he seemed amused.
He waited till we were close to home before he burst out laughing. He coughed, "That recording had him panicking. Not so tough now is he?" I laughed with him as well. I intend to torture him till he is gets the death sentence. Henry advised against that saying he could escape the punishment saying he is insane. I actually kicked the door out of annoyance. I took a deep breath and resolved to keep an eye on him. Henry concurred. DD was waiting for me and so was the ward. They seemed surprised that I had the nerve to do that. I told them to discreetly remove the camera otherwise we might land ourselves in trouble. They assured
me that all is good. The ward reminded me that tomorrow is the hearing for the appeal so I need to get my A game. I kissed her on the head as I walked upstairs to change my clothes so I could strategize.
The next day everyone wished me well and we went our separate ways. I sat in the court house wishing that something would happen. I was amongst those that were with him. I bumped into him intentionally. His pen fell and I quietly swapped it with one I poisoned. I gave him his pen. He flicked it and then he chewed on it. I walked with him on the alert for trouble while he seems to think today is the day he earns his freedom. He made it to the courtroom. He started to feel light headed and soon he got up and started to walk. The judge ordered him to sit down but he ignored her. He finally keeled over.
I got up pretending to look perplexed as the women surrounded him. He was still as a corpse. The medic was quick to get him on a gurney. He was taken to the nearest hospital but the thing is he was declared dead on arrival. The groupies were not pleased while the rest of the crowd cheered. People were jumping in jubilation. A few even threw stuff into the air. I quietly switched the pens and walked away. I waited till the coast is clear. I changed my looks and walked into the morgue. I switched documents to have him cremated. I watched with a smile as he was burnt to a crisp. I snuck out and had my disguise destroyed. I wished everyone a good evening. I switched six cars before I made it home.
DD asked me what I did when I came home. I told that I poisoned him. I just want to take a shower before I tell the details. After the shower I gave a blow by blow of the events that took place. I didn't tell them the name of the poison for some reason and they seemed to be ok about it. Some wished his death was more painful but given the circumstances they let it go. I got rid of the pen that I nicked from him. I helped the ward with her homework. I sat down with a glass of strawberry soda.
The morning my uncle's groupies came demanding a complete and thorough murder investigation. They were sure he was poisoned. The chief tried to reassure them that he wasn't poisoned. They demanded to see his body. They even got a court order. So we went downstairs and found that his corpse was missing. They searched the entire locker then they checked the security cameras. They found a video of him being taken to the basement where he was cremated. The recording after that was scrubbed for some reason. The techs tried very hard to recover it but they failed. The officers hid their delight while the women intended to sue the department for negligence. To which the officer reminded them that relatives of his victims are most likely to exact revenge so the suspect pool is huge. The women put all of that into consideration but warned that they might come after these women considering how they seemed to have a vested interest in his release. The women requested police protection. They were redirected to another department.
As I drove home I got to see a few dozen parties celebrating my uncle's death. When I got home the place was desolate. I had a feeling that someone might have snuck in. I pulled out my gun and walked in to see DD on the living room floor. Cheryl was tied up while the entire security was zip tied up. A man was hovering over asking about Apple. He wanted to know how Apple was killed. He asked how Apple would even think of killing herself when she was in recovery. He was wondering if I had a hand killing her so he is here for answers. I simply struck the back of his head. "Ask me yourself" I snarled as he hit the floor. The others cheered as I cut them loose. When he came to he was behind bars. The man demanded an explanation to which he was told to think twice before he breaks into a police officer's home. Van Pelt was writing the report while the chief came to escort me to a lie detector. After an hour of Q&A he felt that I was honest so he sent me back to work.
The groupies were waiting outside wanting an audience with me. The headless woman wearing a Victorian era outfit was back and she was a skull this time. I happily spoke to them and sent them on their way. Soon the headless woman turned to a mound of rats and reformed into a group of spiders. They danced forming different geometric shapes for a few minutes. I kept them in my peripheral vision as I typed my report. Soon they got bored so they fused together to form a skeletal hand. This then proceeded to make its way to my table. Once it was near my laptop it raised phalanges as though asking for a high five. It wriggled its skeletal form as though it was impatient. I just rolled my eyes as I finished my report. I did see a black figure not far from Vance's desk. It is about four desks away. It was wearing a cloak with a hoodie that covered its face. Soon the incredible hulk walked past with a smirk and I gave him my toothiest smile. He realized that it was me not HER. So he gave me a look that made me want to take a dozen showers. I yawned as I completed the spell check and email to my boss and walked to the bathroom.
After I was done the mirror contorted to show me an underwater scenery. Then the pane of glass cracked and water started to pour into the bathroom floor. It slowly started to flood the place as the crack grew wider allowing more seawater to pour in. I ignored it as I washed my hands. It is just a hallucination. I am going to get Dimbo for this. He has spiked my beverages long enough. I walked out to see him leaning calmly against a wall but I paid no attention. He can see that I noticed these things but what frustrated him was my lack of reaction. I saw the computers pop off everyone's desk and fused to become a makeshift spider. The metal clanged as it ran helter skelter. Soon it lost momentum and fell apart. The thing smoked for a moment before melting into a pool. The liquid metal boiled till it was red hot and it transformed into a spear gun. It started shooting harpoons at me but I ignored it as a rule. Then the harpoons were dragged back to the gun and it transformed into a sort of machine and started shooting shurikens at me. Finally a sword swung at me before the ground swallowed the metal. A young boy who looked like a patchwork quilt walked in with his mother who looked identical. The woman looked around and lit a match. But she turned into smoke the moment I walked through her. Dimbo wanted to say something but his lawyer dragged him out of the office.
