Chapter 14 - Electric Thunder Bull

Over an hour had passed since Tang San had started absorbing the romanti snake and he still had not finished yet.

Wu Yu had been talking a lot with grandmaster during this time about spirits, his spirits to be exact. Most of the conversations had been hovering over the topic of his Qilin spirit, Wu Ji.

The Qilin was an incredibly rare spirit to have and according to grandmaster, only one ever appears in a lifetime, at least that's what he knows going by old records.

Apparently not much is really known about the Qilin and records can only go off of what the previous two predecessor's of the spirit had achieved with it.

One of the predecessor's was of royal decent in the heaven dou empire and was the bastard son of the current king of the era.

He was said to have an unknown spirit since it was the first time ever the people had ever seen such a spirit.

Anyway, that very person rose up to become one of the few powerhouses of the time, a titled Douluo and was given the special title, Flaming Qilin Douluo because of the intense flames his Qilin spirit produced.

Strangely though, after he had killed the king of that time he suddenly vanished from the face of the Earth. It would be as if he never existed at all if it wasn't for the many stories told about him and all the books written, telling his story.

The other predecessor actually turned up 5,000 years after the first and was a talented individual from birth. He was born in a well off family of veteran soldiers, each one of his family members had served in the army before.

When he had awoken his spirit, huge waves were set off as he had the same spirit as the man of legends, only, he didn't take the same path as the one before him and made one of his own.

Unlike the previous Qilin user, he had opted to go the path of speed and agility which worked out incredibly well for him as his Qilin spirit utilized the lightning element which was known for its speed and power.

He had also become a powerhouse in his time and also achieved the title of, Flashing Qilin Douluo for his blinding speed, no one was faster than him.

Surprisingly he had also suddenly vanished, just like the previous user of the spirit, apparently it was also during the exact same time of the year causing many conspiracy theories about their disappearances.

Hearing about these stories from grandmaster really got Wu Yu's blood pumping as the previous two had become incredibly powerful but he was also a little worried about the vanishing part.

What if the same thing happened to him? he rises up and become powerful in the future but then just disappears? what happened to them, did they die? if they did then what or who killed them?

So many thoughts were flooding Wu Yu's mind right now and honestly he was right to be worried, who wouldn't be scarred of the unknown?

Seeing the worried look on Wu Yu's face, grandmaster ruffled his hair and said, "don't worry too much about it, if it comes down to it, we just have to make you as powerful as possible so you can fight back, then we'll at least know that if you disappear, it wasn't by force."

Wu Yu just smiled and nodded his head, what grandmaster said was true or at least somewhat true, he just had to become the most powerful person there is, simple as that.

"Well, it seems Tang San is done." grandmaster said as he walked over to where Tang San was, followed by Wu Yu.

Opening his eyes, Tang San launched a palm attack at a nearby tree that left a deep hole in it's trunk. He then looked at his hand and smiled.

Grandmaster who saw this was a little surprised but then smiled knowing absorption was successful. "Tang San, it seems your strength has increased but that's not all right?" grandmaster asked.

Tang San nodded, he then summoned his blue silver grass that looked completely different now. It was longer, thicker, and it also seemed to have gotten a little shine to it now.

He started speaking, "my blue silver grass has gotten a lot tougher now, and has a skill called bind that does exactly what it sounds like, bind people. It also has a weak paralysis poison now."

Grandmaster nodded and said, "perfect, we seemed to have gotten everything we were searching for from the romanti snake."

Tang San agreed then turned to Wu Yu, "senior brother Yu, we should find you a spirit ring and now, I finally have the power to help."

Wu Yu smiled then nodded and said, "well then junior brother San, I'll be requesting for your help when the time comes."

Though Wu Yu didn't really think he would need help in getting his first spirit ring, it's the thought that counts, right?

When they were all ready, grandmaster took the lead again and took them a little deeper into the forest where less and less spirit beasts could be seen roaming around.

When they reached a certain area, grandmaster stopped them and started informing them, "the spirit beast we're looking for is called the electrical thunder bull, its very rare to see one in a forest but they appear around here sometimes."

"They are very dangerous but luckily they don't travel herds and prefer to be independent. Don't be fooled though, although they aren't in a herd dosn't make them easy to hunt, in fact it's one of the hardest spirit beasts to kill."

"They are extremely fast and aggressive, once it has you in it's sight it'll never let you go until you're dead under it's hooves."

"The most dangerous skill it has is called, charged up, once it uses this, its speed and power is boosted 2 fold."

"Along with this skill it will use another skilled called, electric charge that wraps it's body in electricity and rams itself into it's enemy causing enormous damage, so be careful."

Wu Yu and Tang San both nodded seriously and with grandmasters description of the beast, he might really need Tang San's help this time.

The three of them patiently hid in the bushes waiting for the bull to show itself but after half an hour of nothing, they all seemed to have somewhat given up.

They decided to wait a little longer in hopes of it showing up but it didn't seem like luck was on their side as nothing showed even after 2 hours of waiting.

Just as they were about to give up, Tang San used his purple demon eyes to take one last look in case they missed anything.

To his surprise, he saw minor movements in a large bush far away from where they were hiding so he focused a little more on the bush till he could make out a small part of what was in the bush.

Tang San then asked grandmaster, "master, is the bull by chance black with a few yellow highlights? also does its horns take the shape of yellow lightning?"

"Hm? yes the bull does look a lot like what you depicted but it doesn't have the type of horns you're describing, wait, how did you..."

Before grandmaster could ask, Tang San pointed in the bush he was looking at previously causing grandmaster and Wu Yu to look over.

They couldn't see it very clealy but it it looked a lot like what Tang San was describing so they all got out of hiding and moved towards the unknown spirit beast.

Luckily it seemed like it was busy with something so it didn't even realize the three of them getting closer to it allowing Tang San to make the first move.

Using his blue silver grass, he sneakily sent it towards the beasts hind legs. He made sure not to start attacking yet and instead put them in a position that was ready to bind the beast instantly.

Tang San then looked at Wu Yu as if to tell him that everything was ready, the last thing they needed was for Wu Yu to summon Wu Ji.

"Wu Ji." Wu Yu quietly summoned. Once Wu Ji appeared, Wu Yu immediately got on then gave Tang San the okay.

As soon as he got the okay, Tang San quickly started to bind the spirit beast, starting from it's hind legs, he binded them together so that it lost it's balance and fell over.

Next he started to wrap together it's two other legs as well before restraining its head and body to the ground as well.

While he was doing this he also released the poison from his grass to paralyze the poor beast, it had no chance to fight back at all.

The only thing it could do right now was release small amounts of electricity to try and burn the blue silver grass off itself.

It did seem to be working as the grass was quickly being charred off but unfortunately for itself, by the time it had almost been freed, a pair of hooves came down on its head, completely shattering it's skull.

It didn't even know how or why it died, one moment it was just munching on a few herbs, the next second it was bound up and stomped to death.

Even the three who were all prepared for a big fight didn't expect things to go so smoothly and were all stuck in an akward silence.

"Master, are you sure this is the right spirit beast? wasn't this a little to easy?" Wu Yu suddenly spoke up feeling uncomfortable about the silence.

Grandmaster shook his head, "I'm not sure, but I do know it was around 453 to 459 years of age so it shouldn't have been too easy of a fight."

Wu Yu nodded but then he furrowed his brows as he smelt something strange lingering in the air. He recognized the smell but couldn't exact pinpoint where he had smelt it before.

He looked around everywhere trying to find the source of the smell and finally stopped when his eyes landed on a small half eaten green herb.

Immediately he jumped off of Wu Ji and rushed over to it. Sticking his head near the herb, he sniffed it then, just to make sure, he tore off a small portion of it and ate it.

"This..." Wu Yu looked at the green herb with wide eyes and was pleasantly surprised. This was a herb he recognized, it was an important ingredient in a certain elixir he had planned on making.

Grandmaster and Tang San were a little weirded out by Wu Yu's sudden behavior so grandmaster asked, "little Yu, what is it?"

As he carefully picked the herb from the ground, Wu Yu spoke, "master, I think I know why it was so easy to take down the bull."

Grandmaster and Tang San were both curious about this so the both asked at the same time, "you do? what was the reason?"

Wu Yu stood up with the herb carefully held in his hand, "it's because of this herb, it's called green wonder herb because of its special properties."

"When inhaled, it doesn't do much but it smells really nice however when it's consumed, it causes whoever that consumes to be in a special state of mind."

"To be exact it's a hallucinogen that causes the consumer to feel incredibly good and see many hallucinations, in this case the consumer was the bull."

Both grandmaster and Tang San looked at the herb then at the bull, they somehow felt bad for ruining the bulls "happy" time.

"Master, can you hold on to this herb while I absorb the ring?" Wu Yu asked as he brought the herb to grandmaster.

"You can try some if you want but don't consume all of it, there's an elixir I want to make with this." Wu Yu kindly offered to both Tang San and grandmaster but they both just shook their heads

Wu Yu chuckled a little when he saw their reaction then sat down near the bull so he could begin absorbing his first spirit ring.

Closing his eyes he copied exactly what Tang San did and brought the spirit ring towards himself and began the absorption process.

Unknowingly to him, grandmaster and Tang San were both looking at the wonder herb curiously, although they said they didn't want to try it, curiosity got the best of them.

Tearing a small piece off, they both split it to one another and consumed it at the same time then waited.

At first nothing seemed to have happened but by the time they were half a minute in their vision started getting blurry and their bodies started to feel comfortably warm.

It was as if they were in a dream but unfortunately the effect didn't last very long and a few minutes later they were completely back to normal.

They both then looked at the herb in a daze and thought to themselves, 'what a wonderful herb.'
