Dark spirit masters, everyone knows them. Spirit masters that have spirits that contain the dark element.
Of course this didn't automatically make them evil per say but the sheer amount of those turning to the dark side way out numbered the ones willing to steer clear from such a path.
Unfortunately for those few dark spirit masters that wished to stay away from the evil path, the world had already branded all of them as evil and started to purge them indiscriminately.
Unknown to most people of the world, those dark spirit masters had started to split into two different factions, the grey and the pure evil.
No matter how much dark spirit masters want to be seen as on the side of good, they would never truly be seen that way so they decided to live in the grey, where they'll do anything for their peace.
Unfortunately for them, because they weren't purely on one side, they were sandwiched between two powerful factions and became outcasts to everyone of the world.
On one side, they were rejected and on the other side were the ones they hated to the core, the cause of the bad reputations for dark spirit masters and causing their pain and misery.
Not all hope was lost for them though as one clan, namely the Lin clan opened their arms to them, willing to shelter and protect them.
It wasn't only the Lin clan, there were also the Ming, Feng, and Zhu clan who were willing to shelter them from the world.
Finally, they could see hope, people were starting to open up to them, accept them and differentiate them from those that walk the evil path.
However, they realized the harsh truth rather fast. As soon as they took a step into those 3 clans, they were surrounded on all sides before being brutally tortured and killed.
No matter how many times they said they had nothing to do with the evil dark spirit masters, no matter if they were elderly or newborn, they were all butchered, no exceptions.
The only clan that had stayed true to their words however were the Lin clan, they truly did as they promised and protected them.
Unfortunately, the Lin clan was branded with the title traitors before being attack on all sides for supporting the dark spirit masters.
The entire clan was wiped out that night and razed to the ground, no one knows if there were any survivors but at the same time, no one cared if there were, after all they'll just be hunted down for all eternity.
...
"On the left, we have the beautiful Qing Qing! facing off against on the right, the demon from hell, Lin Feng!"
The crowed erupted into cheers as the men furiously whistled at Qing Guanyu while the women were urging Lin Feng to rip her to shreds.
Wu Yu and the twins were taken aback by how extreme the women here were causing them to shiver a little as they prayed for Qing Guanyu.
Qing Guanyu, like the cheerful girl she was started waving and blowing kisses at everyone only inciting the crowd even further.
Wu slapped his forehead and looked down while shaking his head, 'this girl... she's gonna be the end of me."
On the other side was a teenager, judging by his physique and stature. Unfortunately there was no way to truly know for sure as an iron mask covered in blood was nailed into his face.
Yes, nailed, and going by how secure the the mask was, it seems like the nails went in pretty deep.
No matter who saw this, it caused them to shiver. What kind of person would do such a horrible thing to themselves?
Other than that mask, he had long, dirty black hair and was wearing huge cuffs on each of his limbs that was attached to long iron chains.
In the stands, Wu Yu frowned as he looked at the boy Qing Guanyu was about to face, for some reason he had a bad feeling about all of this.
As soon as the announcer gave the go, Lin Feng launched himself like a wild animal towards Qing Guanyu at a speed that surprised even Wu Yu causing him to tense up as he continued watching.
The way Lin Feng was fighting completely caught Qing Guanyu off guard as she managed to dodge his first punch but didn't anticipate him to use that momentum to suddenly launch a back heel kick towards her left shoulder.
Having no choice but to block the attack, she leaned back and blocked the kick just barely. Pulling back to gain some distance, Qing Guanyu immediately used her spirit.
A pure white mask appeared before her, the mask was pretty simplistic as it only had two eye holes and a the basic shape of a face.
However once she yelled out, "wind!" a yellow spirit ring appeared and surrounded her mask changing the simplistic looking mask earlier into a better designed green mask.
The mask had two short and yellow horns with a demonic looking green face. It had four widely spaced out big teeth on the top while two even bigger ones were on its lower jaw.
"Equip!" Qing Guanyu shouted causing the mask to plant itself on her face, effectively also changing some of her features.
Her hair now turned a ghastly white while he nails became sharp and deadly. It was almost as if she became the demon on the mask herself.
Curling up her fingers, she swiped her hand at Lin Feng causing the surrounding air to surround her fingers before she launched it towards Lin Feng.
Five blades of wind were quickly flying towards Lin Feng at a speed he wasn't able to keep up with causing all five of them to land on his body.
Sent flying by the force of the wind blades, Lin Feng held his bloody chest as he was sent rolling to the other side of the arena.
"Graaaah!" immediately an inhuman roar sounded before Lin Feng shot back up and started running towards Qing Guanyu again.
As he sprinted toward Qing Guanyu, he also activated his spirit causing pitch black fur to sprout from various parts of his body.
Not ending there, a long black tail sprouted from his rear end with a red flame running on the top of his tail.
His nails also got sharper as his speed got faster and faster. Qing Guanyu wasn't just watching the entire process and was constantly on edge as she sent wind blade after wind blade while creating distance between them.
After activating his spirit, Lin Feng could now keep up with the wind blades somewhat as he countered them by destroying the blades with a swipe of his hand.
Unfortunately he couldn't stop all of them as a few of them got past his defense and hit him a few times causing him to slow down.
Slowly anger was taking over Lin Feng's reasonings as he started to wildly chase after maniacly not caring for that damage he was taking.
This only made the fight easier for Qing Guanyu as all she had to do was keep her distance while sending out attacks to slow Lin Feng down.
Unexpectedly, as Lin Feng got hurt more and more, the crowd started to chant the same thing all at once.
"Burn her up! burn her up! burn her up!"
As the chanting got fiercer and fiercer, Wu Yu and the twins got a really bad feeling in their guts as they looked worriedly at Qing Guanyu.
Lin Yuhan on the other hand was on the verge of tears when she saw the transformation of Lin Feng.
It was him, even with the iron mask, Lin Yuhan knew who the boy was. No matter what, there was no way she could forget him, the one that gave his live for her, her one and only, "big brother!"
Without any hesitation, Lin Yuhan started running towards the arena causing Wu Yu and the twins to immediately become alarmed.
Immediately, they started running after Lin Yuhan as the bad premonition got worse and worse as they closely followed behind her.
"Yuhan! what's wrong? why are you acting like this?" Wu Yu questioned as he closed in on her before pining her against a nearby wall.
However, just as Lin Yuhan was about to answer, a loud explosion was heard before the crowd started getting riled up again and started cheering.
Startled by the sudden change, Wu Yu got anxious then asked the brothers to check on the situation in the arena.
The two nodded and ran back up the stairs where they could see the arena set aflame by a raging red fire.
Worried, the two brothers tried to find Qing Guanyu through the fire but were unable to see anything beyond the fire.
Running back down the exclaimed, "brother Yu! the arena, it's on fire! we can't see sister Yu through the fire!"
Hearing this, both Wu Yu and Lin Yuhan's face paled. Lin Yuhan quickly pushed Wu Yu off of her before once again running towards the arena.
"Huang Da, Huang Bo, follow Yuhan, I'll go to sister Yu!" Wu Yu shouted as he started running towards the arena while the two brothers followed after Yuhan.
Back in the arena, the red fire was blazing uncontrollably, the heat of the flames were so intense, those in the audience started to sweat profusely.
*Cough, cough!*
"What was that?" in the flames, the body frame of a girl could be made out as she was violently coughing due to the smoke.
Qing Guanyu had no idea what happened, one moment she was winning the battle and was slowly wearing out Lin Feng.
Then before she knew it, a yellow ring enveloped Lin Feng before a blast of fire erupted from him, setting the entire arena ablaze.
Unable to avoid the flames, Qing Guanyu was caught by it, setting her clothes on fire as she also suffered some major burns on her shoulders and arms.
She was a quick thinker and immediately removed her clothes knowing how dangerous the flames were.
Unfortunately for her, the flames surrounding her were extremely hot and being so close to them, she started to suffer some minor burns all over her body.
Seeing as she was trapped, Qing Guanyu started to panic as she thought to herself, 'Is this were I die? no I can't, I don't want to, no!'
As she was thinking this, slowly but surely she was starting to lose consciousness, the heat was getting to her.
Collapsing on the ground, Qing Guanyu's eyes started watering as they slowly closed to the sight of a hoof standing in front of her.
Jumping down from Wu Ji, Wu Yu looked at the badly burnt body of Qing Guanyu and felt anger rising from within him but this wasn't the time to let anger envelope him so he immediately picked her up and got back onto Wu Ji.
"Let's go! we need to leave!" after he said that a purple ring enveloped Wu Ji causing flames to ignite on it's hooves before it started running towards the wall of fire.
As Wu Ji got closer and closer to the fire, the clanking sound of his hooves on the hard surface of the arena started to go quiet until eventually no sound could be heard at all.
In the audience a bunch of people who were cheering started to notice a figure emerging from the fire.
To be exact the figure was running over there fire in circles as it got higher and higher above the raging fire below.
"Wu Ji! get us out of here!" following Wu Yu's instructions, Wu Ji sped up and galloped over the colosseum and started running towards a nearby alleyway.
When Wu Yu was trying to get into the arena earlier, he ended up alerting the guards. Having no choice he had to attack them so now he was a wanted by the colosseum.
Fortunately he was able to get to Qing Guanyu on time otherwise there was no telling what he might end up doing.
Sitting Qing Guanyu against the wall of a secluded alleyway, Wu Yu ordered Wu Ji to stand guard while he took out a strange green bottle and a clean white cloth.
He then uncorked the green bottle before spilling out it's contents onto the piece of cloth, completely soaking it in green liquid.
Gently, he took hold of Qing Guanyu's arm and started wiping her burns with the cloth before moving onto other parts of her body that were burnt.
Slowly, the parts that Wu Yu had wiped with the cloth started to magically heal. The burned skin slowly started to flake and fall off, revealing a new layer of smooth and untainted skin.
This was an elixir Wu Yu had managed to create rather easily, only the materials needed were rare to come by and he only got super lucky to find the ingredients so early on so he had a very limited stock.
The elixir was called, healing dew and he only had 5 bottles of it, now 4 since he used one on Qing Guanyu.
The elixir could cure any external and internal wounds as long as the person was still alive. Drinking it would cure internal injuries while physically applying it could cure external injuries.
The only limitation to this god sent elixir however was the fact that it couldn't cure old age and mental disorders. Other than that, the elixir can pretty much bring you back from the brink of death.
After Wu Yu managed to get all the burns, he put the cloth back into his belt as it could still be used a little longer.
Taking out a blanket from his belt, Wu Yu wrapped Qing Guanyu tightly into it before he carried her on to Wu Ji's back again with a look of determination.
"Wait for me guys, I'll be right there!"
