The prison had turned into a bustling construction site, and even after dark, the intense work didn't stop. Without any machinery, the prison guards and a group of prisoners deemed reliable had to work as quickly as possible to plug up the large and small breaches anew.
The collapsed sections couldn't possibly be restored to their previous state, but it was still possible to pile up stones and blasted materials to build a high wall that personnel could not cross. As long as it prevented the Rebel Army's infantry from entering smoothly, that would be sufficient.
The guards had suffered significant casualties, but there were still over two hundred people available for construction, plus more than three hundred prisoners providing labor. Although there were many breaches in the wall, restoring the most basic defense overnight should still be no problem.
