Synopsis
Growing up alone in the mountains, Rain was optimistic but never expected too much from his life. Hearing about the Soul Signs, magically abilities that vary from person to person, that are nigh-limitless in possibilities. Rain obviously doesn't expect to get one, however when he was for one instead of obtaining one naturally was gifted one, and the Soul Sign he obtained was that of Aquarius, one of the legendary greek zodiac at that, it was the beginning of something Rain would've never expected in his wildest of dreams. *I hope you enjoy reading this, really do and also hope the only inconsistent thing about this is the release times since I'll have life and school, I won't be writing chapters 24/7, apologies in advance if that happens. (If you ever think release times take too long and there are no holidays or I'm not doing something else, it's because it does take too long, seriously, try writing a novel yourself and you'll get it). Anyway I wish you all have a good day and take care :)

Chapter 1 - Impending Storm

A young boy, living over by the mountains of a remote country, With short light blue hair and pinkish eyes, relatively pinkish skin colour as well, the boy began his day via farming over at the farm he owned.

The boys name was Rain, his parents named him that because they quite enjoyed poesy and thought that it was a nice name. Despite both his parents being dead, Rain wasn't nearly as pessimistic as you'd think and was instead rather positive, humble and optimistic.

Despite being that, Rain couldn't ever imagine himself with anything that was above what he could currently afford.

The number one thing he was always thinking of however was the Soul Signs, magical abilities that differ from person to person, with almost no limit to how strong or weak it could become.

Of course, Rain never ever would be so arrogant as to think he would ever be able to obtain a Soul Sign, since he always believed that a Soul Sign was too much for a backwater nobody like him to ever obtain.

After a long day, Rain decided to go pray at a temple that lies deep in the forest near his house, since he did it so often, it became a routine for him.

Rain threw in some coins and clapped his hands together, praying for a Soul Sign, with little to no hope of actually getting one via this method.

"Mhm... No luck today either, Wonder if God hates me?"

Rain decided to sit for a little while in the grass, since he was tired from work and thought it was relaxing enough to lie down in the grass and doze off.

Then a strange sensation hit Rain, he sat up, thinking it was just static electricity and went back to sleep.

Rain dozed off for not even a full hour before the weather turned sour and woke him up.

"Wha?! Great... Just my luck today, I was just trying to get some sleep here!"

Rain scurried over to his house, looking angered but mostly just disappointed that he couldn't even catch an hour of sleep before being interrupted. He tried to make some kind of coffee mixture with the ingredients he had at home, safe to say it didn't go great.

After staying inside with almost nothing to do, Rain quickly grew bored and restless, he then decided to cook up some food despite not being all too hungry for some reason.

Then suddenly, his hand began to ache, he accidently dropped the cooking utensils he was holding just now and accidently got the food too burnt.

After cleaning up the mess he made in the kitchen, Rain then had to stomach the monstrosity he had just created. It looked not only burned, but also had some uncooked parts, Rain thought that since he made he might as well eat it to not waste ingredients. Needless to say, it wasn't good in any stretch of the imagination.

Rain then took a good look at his hand, with a first aid kit just in case something bad caused the aching.

But to his utter disbelief, a Soul Signs mark had appeared, resembling the constellation of Aquarius.

Rain, thinking he's actually in a dream tried to punch himself to wake himself up, after all, there was no way someone like him could possible get a Soul Sign, a zodiac one nonetheless!

"This is going to hurt just a bit..."

He braced himself and hit his stomach as hard as possible, to his dismay, he felt every last sensation of pain imaginable.

"Fine... this... isn't... a... dre..."

Having felt incredible pain somehow made Rain drowsy and he quickly collapsed, not waking up for a while.

After Rain finally woke up, he noticed a young boy, with golden brown hair and blue eyes standing besides him.

"I assume... that you are my summoner, yes?"

Rain was extremely confused and didn't understand what he meant, therefore Rain replied with a simple:

"Who're you and what're you doing in my house?"

"That's a little rude, wouldn't you say? Though I guess it is partly my fault, since I didn't give you an explanation, I am Aquarius, the spirit residing within that special Soul Sign of yours, called a Summon Sign"

Rain, surprisingly quick to believe most of it, especially the part where the boy said Rain didn't actually get a Soul Sign, However, among the hundreds of questions he was thinking of asking, only one slipped through to his mouth at the moment:

"Isn't... Aquarius a woman?"

"W-what kind of question is that... But no, You can very clearly see that I am a man"

Aquarius, very obviously confused by the incredibly strange question responded similarly:

"Do... A lot of present day folk believe that?"

Rain, giving Aquarius a strange look of uncertainty then smirked.

"Not sure about that..."

Aquarius breathed a sigh of relief but then realized that was the only question Rain had.

"Your... not going to ask about anything else? Like... the Summon Signs for example?"

Aquarius, confident that he had reminded Rain to ask when needed about such things was met a simplistic answer.

"Nope, I'm not"

Extremely confused Aquarius continued to question.

"And why is that? Do you already know about the Summon Signs or... are you only interested in asking me about that?"

"Again... I am only interested in asking about that, Whatever Summon Signs are, it must have been a mistake that I was chosen for this"

Rain was fully confident that him being chosen for some "Summon Sign" was a complete and utter mistake.

"I... I can confirm that it was no mistake that you were chosen! Ask away all you want! I am bound by the will of Zeus to answer honestly so that there is no need to worry about lying!"

Rain grimaced with an uncertain expression as he asked Aquarius about what he meant.

"Zeus? What does he have to do with this?"

Aquarius, more annoyed than ever attempted to lecture Rain once again.

"Mister Rain... Please, I beg of you, do not fixate on lowly details! And the answer to that question... or rather remark is my prior history with Zeus"

As Rain and Aquarius continued to bicker about utter nonsense, a loud quaking noise was heard before one of Rains walls were destroyed.

Covered in dust was the giant silhouette of a humanoid monster with fur and horns growing out of its head, boasting a bull like head shape, when the dust cleared it became obvious who that was to resemble.

...

It was a minotaur.
