Chapter 25 - What No One Saw

"I saved them… and they'll never know. Maybe it's better that way. Because if they saw what I became… they'd fear me too."

The beasts are all dead. The forest is ruined. The land is scorched.

But his parents and sister are unconscious — they didn't witness what he became.

The MC stands alone, the only one awake.

His body is steaming, his aura still active, but he feels cold and hollow.

He looks at his hands — not with pride. But with fear.

"If they had seen it… would they still smile at me?"

🌌 The World Reacts:

The sky had turned black. A massive pulse of unnatural mana surged out when he awakened.

Everyone in the region felt it.

A shockwave was detected in nearby towns and cities.

The Kingdom's Mage Council or Magic Authority (depending on your naming) reacts swiftly.

Forbidden magic is strictly outlawed here — especially dark or demonic signatures.

A report is filed. Scouts are sent to investigate. Some suspect a dungeon beast escaped.

If they discover it came from a child… that child could be executed.

🤫 The Secret Burden:

When his family awakens, they don't know what happened.

They remember the S-rank beast approaching… then nothing.

They assume a miracle occurred — or a passing high-rank saved them.

The MC says nothing.

"I didn't lie. I just… said nothing."

He watches them recover.

His sister, weak but alive, rests beside him.

His mother strokes his hair.

His father places a hand on his shoulder with pride.

And he says in his heart:

"I can never let them see that side of me.""They finally smiled at me… I won't let the truth steal that."

🌒 Opening: After the Storm

The air was still thick with ash.

Burnt trees. Cracked earth. Blood and bones scattered where monsters had once stood.

The S-rank beast's corpse lay half-buried in the crater — its massive body scorched and lifeless.

The other A-rank beasts were torn apart. Nothing remained.

The battlefield was silent now.

And at the center of it all, a child sat on the ground, too small to stand, too tired to cry.

His body trembled.

His mana was gone.

His breathing was shallow.

"I can't… move."

His skin steamed from the aftermath of demonic power. His heart pounded too fast. His soul — too large for this fragile body — was flickering, trying not to shatter.

In his last life, his body was built to contain this power.

But in this world…

This body was too weak.

Too human.

🛡️ Arrival of the Royal Forces

The next day — they came.

Soldiers. Mages. Knights in armor bearing the crest of the kingdom.

The mana pulse had shaken half the region. The sky had turned black. Animals had fled from ten miles around. And now — they stood before the corpse of a slain S-rank monster.

An event like this… should be impossible.

Even royal grandmasters struggled to kill S-rank beasts alone.

Yet here it was — surrounded by dozens of A-rank corpses — all dead, cleanly, violently.

The scouts searched the area.

They found the house. Burnt, half-destroyed.

They found the family.

Alive.

"Bring them all," the captain ordered."We're taking them to the capital. The king demands answers."

🧬 The Weak Mortal Body

The MC lay limp in his mother's arms as they rode toward the palace.

He could barely open his eyes.

His power was sealed again. Not by magic — but by exhaustion.

His body couldn't hold that form again. Not soon. Maybe not ever without training.

He hated how weak this body was.

The people of this world were slow. Their spells were simple. Their mana — diluted.

He felt like a god stuffed into a cracked shell.

"I was at the peak… and now I'm a child again. Again."

But worse than the weakness…

…was the fear.

Not of dying.

But of being seen.

"If they find out it was me… I'll be executed. No trial. No mercy."

This world forbade dark powers.

And what he had used… was darker than anything they'd ever seen.

👑 In the King's Presence

The throne room was silent when they arrived.

The king — tall, armored, cold-eyed — stood from his seat.

Behind him, nobles, generals, scholars. All focused on the broken family.

"Speak," the king commanded. "Which one of you did this?"

No one answered.

His father, still wrapped in bandages, bowed deeply.

"Your Majesty… we don't know."

"You expect me to believe that?" the king barked."A miracle happens. An S-rank beast is killed. And no one knows how?"

His mother held the MC tightly. His sister stood, silent, eyes fixed on the ground.

The captain stepped forward.

"We found no magical residue consistent with known spells. No battlefield signatures. Nothing natural."

"Then it was forbidden magic," one noble hissed."A dark practitioner. A heretic!"

"Your family will be searched. Examined. Interrogated."

The guards moved forward.

The MC's vision blurred. His heart raced.

He tried to move. Tried to speak. But nothing came.

His body wouldn't listen.

"If they test me… they'll know. They'll see it."

"If they find out, they'll kill them. Not just me… all of them."

🤐 The Lie That Saves

Before they could reach him, his sister stepped forward.

"I saw it," she said softly.

The room froze.

"A silver light came from the forest. Someone strong passed by. They killed the monsters and vanished."

Lies.

But the perfect kind.

A silent force. A passing stranger. A plausible myth.

"I… I remember the shape. But not the face."

The king stared at her. Long and hard.

Then… waved his hand.

"Release them."

"If this is divine intervention… then so be it."

"But if we learn otherwise…" His eyes locked onto the MC's limp form.

"There will be no mercy."

🌑 The Weight of Power

Back home, he lay in bed.

His mother stroked his hair, humming softly.

His father poured tea. His sister cleaned her sword in silence.

No one asked him what had happened.

No one said thank you.

No one said anything.

And that… was the kindest thing they could have done.

"They don't know."

"They can't know."

"Because if they knew… they'd be afraid of me too."

He closed his eyes.

And made a promise.

"I won't ever lose control again."

"If I want to keep them… I'll have to protect them without being seen."
