Ezra
"Prince the attackers have killed all the Elders," DEMIR hurriedly shouts, I could hear pants escaping his lips as he talked from the door outside guarding it for me and my little sister to be safe.
If he says all the elders have been killed then this means- This means the King and Queen of this Isoria Kingdom, our parents have died… then it means all my people will die.
The children… I can't let it happen.
I must do something other than panic and wait in my secret chamber, as I've never been trained for this before.
I must protect everyone.
I must protect my people.
I must protect these children.
And I must protect my little sister.
Gripping my sword on its hilt tightly, I walk to the door and with one last glance at my little trembling sister, I unlock this door, but Sky stops me by saying, "Be careful, you're the only one I'm left with if our parents are dead." In her shivering tone.
With an assurance tone, I say, "I will, and never open this door for anyone."
She nods and I get out.
Demir, as my protector and my guidance, his eyes, painted with fear bolted to mine. "Wait, Prince…. What are you doing?"
"One needs to fight these rouges before they kill all of us," I sneer at him for trying to stop me with his hand on my forearm.
He removes his hand swiftly, stands still and upright like he's supposed to be and says, "But they're so many and we can't fight them alone."
"Then what are we supposed to do, just sit and watch them take over?" I ask firmly at him with my brows met.
"I understand but once you leave this room, then you'll be dead."
I don't care.
"Where's Arlo, Romy and the guards?"
"They're outside your room, my Prince," Demir answers holding his silver black sword by his hip.
I nod and walk to the door.
Demir follows me.
Arlo flashes before my eyes with a chest rising and falling as he breathes loudly, eyes out evidencing fear and mouth a bit dry from breathing heavily. "All of the rouges have left the kingdom but-," he cuts and gulps dryly. "They took our King and Queen's heads with them."
"Shit..." I aggressively cuss and push Arlo out of the way and hurry out of the door.
Fuck… fuck… fuck…
What are these rouges planning to do with my parents' heads?
Are they planning to do some dark rituals?
They've killed all the elders…
My mind reels while I run in the hallway, down the stairs and the lobby that is so huge and finally reach the door and immediately after opening the door, my nose gets hit by the thick air of blood. It's dark outside. It's midnight and probably our elders' bloods spilt on the oil lamps.
Demir is already beside me, both of us breathing thickly. "Tell the guards to light the lamps and remove all the dead bodies and burn all of them before sunrise," I order him.
I can't let the children watch this tremendous experience, seeing their parents on the ground, dead with their blood everywhere on them and on the floor.
Since they've killed only the elders, then it means I'm left with 30 guards.
"Arlo…" Shouting for Arlo.
"Prince?" he came fast with two lamps in his hands.
"Help me find Queen and King," I order him.
Arlo is my confidant also lost his parents… I mean everyone except for Demir who lost his parents years ago during the attack before I was born.
Now, Demir he's our elder in the Kingdom. He's 30 years old and I'm 25 years while Sky she's 19 years.
The rouges didn't negotiate with anyone when they came. I was there before I was rushed to the secret chamber with my little sister to hide in.
They just came and started attacking the specifics – the elders, but next time, they might come back and attack all of us and we don't know when that will be.
The children are safe, also in their secret chambers only for them.
A loud gasp escaped my lips the moment the dead bodies were cast by the light on them. Blood is everywhere, making my shoes make a squelch sound from walking on them. The air gets thicker and thicker with time.
Suppressing tears from falling out of my eyes. "Let's hurry," I tell Arlo.
We search for our King and Queen's bodies.
Arlo went to my left side but not far from me and shouted, "Prince…"
I hurry to him leaping on the dead bodies and finally reach.
My eyes swiftly dimmed and swallowed something huge and lumpy in my throat the moment I reached and saw my parents' bodies having no heads with blood bathed their robes next to each other.
"We have to hurry before Sky sees them like this."
Arlo helps by trying to lift the King but he's too heavy, so he shouts for help.
10 guards come running and help us lift the King to the large and deep pit.
That's how the King ordered us. He told us to burn all the bodies together in the pit if anything happened to them and so we did as we were ordered to do.
I thought it was going to be easy but as I carry my mother, seeing her with no face, it feels like my heart is being slit by a sharp sword deeply, but I must be strong. I am the prince after all, and my people can't have a weak Prince who keeps on crying as I'm not the only one who lost the parents, but everyone.
The sun is coming out while we are done burning the bodies and now finishing washing away the blood from the surface.

"I think it's time I cross that border and seek help," I tell Demir in the board meeting room.
Demir seems like he doesn't like my idea with his expression.
I stand up from my chair and he does too along with Sky.
I watch as his lips slowly separate but before he gets to say anything from trying to stop me, I raise my hand at him, turn and walk to the door.
"But you know that we are forbidden from crossing that border, Ezra." The words won to escape his lips.
Without turning, I say, "The people who forbade us are now dead, if we don't seek help, we are as good as dead, and I can't let that happen and no one should dare to stop me." In a growling tone and furrowed brows.
"Then I'll go with you."
I glance him over my shoulder with slightly furrowed brows. "No, at least one of us should stay alive and protect these children and ladies. But don't worry, I'll come as I'm Prince Ezra Damon, the untouchable prince of Isoria Kingdom."
Demir let out a defeated breath before I walked out of the door.
We grew up knowing the only close Kingdom to us was the Kingdom of evils. We were taught about the King being a vampire, with a face like a sin splattered with permanent human blood, fangs out and red lips as if he paints them with blood.
They said his hair was as black as midnight, thick and dry and had never been cut off just flowing and dragging down the surface as he walked with the skin so pale since vampires are allergic to the sun and only wear dark red–black robes on his broader tall body.
I pause in the middle of the palace, turn and look at everyone – my little sister, my protector, my confidant, my guards and my people having the slightest hope that I will come back alive but we all know that it was not the Vampires who attacked the kingdom – the attackers were so mundane but with elite fighting skill.
Take in a deep breath, maybe my last breath before I turn away and walk out of the palace's gates.
The gates close after me, I walk with my pride high because it's the only thing I can afford at this time since heat overcame my body, in my robe and caused sweat to slither down my spine with the hand that is gripping my sword by its hilt sweating.
Imagining the Bloodspire kingdom's thorn roof, the walls gnarled with scary mythical creatures, painted with black and blood-red and grass, trees and flowers dark and dried while the whole palace decorated with spider webs, human skulls and skeletons and bats flying everywhere.
The elders mentioned that the Vampires sleep during the day and inside the coffin but now, it's evening – dark outside but I can see the way.
I reach the border, with the evening mist so cold and seeping through my robe brushing away the sweat on my body.
We are separated by a very slim clear river that we never got a chance to come near till now.
The Bloodspire Kingdom's gates make a creaking sound as they open the moment, I reach them, and my body slims from fear with the eerie feeling leaving my body covered with goosebumps and taking in slim air into my lungs.
My hand holds my sword it is strapped by my hip.
Everything suddenly feels heavy and numb as I enter the only Kingdom, I've been taught to be the Kingdom that is owned by the devil and feeds on human blood only.
And here I am, going to make a bargain with the very same devil.
