Chapter 20 - Into Across The Spider-Verse

The portal's blue light swallowed Peter Parker, Mad Spider, and Gwen Stacy, pulling them from Earth-731's burning slums into the Spider-Verse, a kaleidoscope of realities where infinite New Yorks collided in 2030's multiversal war. Peter's blood-red costume glowed, his spider-powers—strength, agility, regeneration—thrumming, the pain from electroshock torture a faint pulse drowned by his Joker-like madness. He laughed, a wild, unhinged sound, as he swung through a city of floating skyscrapers, Gwen webbed to his side. "This is nuts, Gwenny!" he quipped, his Deadpool-like humor sharp. Gwen's blue eyes sparkled, her love a quiet anchor, her blonde hair whipping in the cosmic wind. "We're free, Peter," she said, her voice fierce. "Let's make it count."

Flashback: At 14, Peter and Gwen danced in a school gym, her laughter a melody. "We're unstoppable," he said, his smile pure. That defiance carried them now, their bond a light in the multiverse's chaos.

Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O'Hara, led them to the Spider-Society's hub, a citadel of Spiders—Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Punk—united against anomalies tearing the multiverse apart. "You're a glitch, Parker," Miguel said, his visor glinting. "But a useful one." Peter's grin was sharp. "Glitch? I'm the main event!" The Spiders eyed him warily, his villainy on Earth-731 a warning. Gwen's presence steadied them, her tech skills and resolve earning respect. "We fight for each other," she said, her hand in Peter's, their ritual a private vow.

The war was brutal—Peter swung through collapsing realities, battling anomalies like mutated symbiotes and rogue Spiders. His regeneration healed wounds, his madness a weapon, his laughter chilling foes. "Bad day to mess with me!" he taunted, webbing a beast into a portal. Gwen hacked multiversal tech, her tablet replaced by Spider-Society gear, her love grounding Peter's chaos. Flashback: At 21, Gwen freed Peter from Oscorp, her heart racing as he laughed, madness born but love intact. Now, she fought beside him, their bond unshakable.

The Spiders clashed over Peter's role—some saw him as a liability, his violence teetering into villainy. Miles argued for redemption, while Spider-Punk cheered his chaos. Miguel mediated: "He's ours, like it or not." Peter's pain flared mid-battle, his laughter broken. Gwen's ritual calmed him, their intimacy a beacon. "We're enough," she whispered, tears falling. Peter's eyes softened. "Always were."

The war's climax loomed—an anomaly king threatening the Spider-Verse's core. Peter led the charge, his madness and powers a storm, Gwen at his side. "Let's end this party!" he roared, his webbing and strength shattering defenses. The Spiders won, the multiverse stabilized, but Peter's laughter echoed, balancing redemption and chaos. Gwen's love kept him grounded, their fate a new beginning.

They stood on a cosmic rooftop, infinite cities below. "We're home," Gwen said, her hand in his. Peter laughed, free. "Nah, Gwenny. We're the stars."
