Serena kept staring at the house. She saw Jace's father bringing the wine. He poured it into a glass and sat down. He said, "I really love you, and I would love you to marry me. We already talked about this, but I just want to say it again because I know I may be a bit old for you. Do you think I'm okay?"
Jace's father said, "Yes, you're definitely good-looking. Look, there's no problem with you."
She grabbed his hand and kissed him on the cheek. "Don't worry about that, darling. Just focus on me. Focus on our relationship," Serena said.
He was really happy about the marriage, really happy about getting married to Serena. But Serena and the other aunt didn't care. She was just using an old man.
He said, "Mr. Ethan, can you direct me to your bathroom?"
"You can use the staircase. Just go straight and turn left. You'll see the visitor's bedroom, and my son's bedroom is also there. His room is near that place," Jace's father said.
"Thanks, darling," Serena said. She stood up and walked toward the staircase.
She was still angry about the fact that Jace ignored her. She had tried to be polite, but he had disgraced her, and she was annoyed.
As she walked toward the bedroom, she glanced to her left and saw Jace's door open. She walked in and saw him. Jace didn't notice.
At that moment, he was lying on his bed. Then he heard footsteps approaching. When he turned, he was shocked to see Serena.
Serena put a big smile on her face.
He said, "Hey, you fool. You lucky bastard. How dare you do what you did? You look scared. Don't worry, you look about the same age as me. When I marry your dad, I'm going to make you suffer. Do you know that?"
Serena walked closer with a big grin on her face.
Jace was really shocked because he didn't expect this. On the first day, she was supposed to pretend she liked him because she was supposed to be his stepmom. But she didn't.
"What the fuck? What are you doing in my room? You don't have fear—I don't know what God gave you. But don't try me. Don't mess with me. You might be pretty. I don't care. You're pretty, beautiful, everything. But I know you only want my father's money. So now leave my room. Why would you enter my room without permission?" Jace said.
"Hey, don't you dare talk when I'm talking, you bastard. I'm going to suck your dad's money like a mosquito sucks blood from a human. Just watch. I know you won't be able to do anything because your father is in love. Nothing you say will make him stop," Serena said.
Who the hell is this witch? Jace said to himself. Who is this woman who just came into my house for the first time and is trying to insult me—or actually insulting me? She's just around my age. What gives her the guts? Even if she is young, why is she actually intimidating? he wondered as Serena was talking.
"You are so, so, so crazy. A mere idiot like you has the guts? I tried to be nice to you even though it's the first time I'm meeting you. You didn't have any fear, and you ignored me. I'm going to tell you one thing: see, you men are so foolish. I know what's on your mind. You know, I'm a sexy girl, and I know I'm beautiful. I'm the most charming girl you'll ever see in your life. And I know what men want—because all you men are the same. So don't you try to act cocky with me. Do you understand?" Serena said.
Immediately after Serena said that, her father—Jace's father—who was downstairs in the living room shouted, "Serena, are you done using the bathroom? Or should I come get you?"
Then Serena shouted back, "Darling, I'm coming!"
As she tried to walk away from Jace's room, she told him, "Darling, I'm telling you, you're so stupid. Don't you try that again, and don't talk to me—or else you might die."
Serena said this as she walked away from Jace's room.
Jace was shocked. What did she mean by that? Or else I might die? Who is this woman? Who is this lady? I expected many things, but this was the least of all. I never expected it to be some young bitch running her mouth. This is a fucking bitch. This is a fucking bitch! Look at how she talks. How did she manage to pull my father that easily just because of her looks? Because she's really, really charming. And even though she insulted me, I kept staring at her—I don't know why. Because of her attractive green eyes. Her hair is green, too. Her hair is beautiful. She's beautiful, sexy, hot. That's the only reason she managed to pull my father. But in a way, this is really, really annoying.
Jace said he was frustrated sitting in his room. He stood up from his bed and took out the clothes he planned to wear to go to the organization his friend had directed him to join—the organization that might have a lead on who killed his mother. Because it was the time his father got involved with the mafia, Jace wanted to find out the truth.
Meanwhile, Serena walked down the stairs to meet Jace's father.
"Why did it take you so long?" he asked.
"Baby, don't worry about that. It looks like I missed my way. Instead of going straight, I followed another corner in the staircase. That's the only reason," Serena said.
"Oh, but I directed you. You still missed the way?" Jace's father said.
"I'm sorry. I should have followed you," Serena said.
"No, no, no. It's fine, it's fine," he reassured her.
Serena walked to the living room, sat down on the couch, and just sipped her wine.
"I think it's already getting late, so I should go," Serena told Jace's father.
"Oh, you don't want to stay? You could stay over for the night if you want to," he said.
"No, no, no. It's fine. I think I need to go," Serena repeated.
"Should I drop you off?" Jace's father asked.
"Don't worry about that. I don't want to stress you. You've done enough for me," Serena said as she stood up and walked majestically like she owned the place. Jace's father escorted her to the gate.
As he reached the gate, he said goodbye. Jace was watching Serena from the window as she left the house.
After the father went inside, Jace kept watching from the window.
He immediately saw a big, expensive vehicle—a very expensive SUV—arrive to pick Serena up. He was shocked.
