"We'll take him back to Valerie and have him access this unkempt boy" one of the men said.
"What if Valerie rejects him??" the other asked,
"We paid good money for him, if Valerie doesn't accept him, we're doomed"
I was at the back of the van, while they discussed, I listened carefully to what they were saying and then, slowly I couldn't hear what they were saying anymore.
I woke up...
♥︎♡♥︎
That was when I realised that I had fallen asleep because the awkward position I was in wore me out.
I looked around, suddenly aware of my environment and trying to pinpoint where I was in.
Thankfully, I was still in the van but I figured it was already night because it was dark in the van.
Where they were taking me to, was the distance that long?
I quickly found something sharp to cut the ropes binding my wrists with.
This was my chance to escape because it was dark and they won't see me trying to free myself.
I began cutting furiously at the ropes, careful enough not to arouse any suspicion.
When I finally felt the blood rush back to my wrists, I heaved with relief....I had successfully cut the ropes.
Then without any suspicion, I quietly rose to my feet and the next thing my brain told me to do, I was gonna regret it.
I kicked the doors at the back of the van leading outside and to my surprise, it opened.
I was really thankful....
But immediately, the men turned and as I was about to jump out, the one driving, steered the wheel to the side roughly and I fell out of the van and rolled on the road till I stopped.
"Stop the car!!" the other man hollered
"I'm trying!!!"
"The brake has failed," the one driving said
"Not now, not now," the other groaned and took out a gun.
I stood up from the ground, and I was lucky enough to find out that the van's brakes had failed.
So I used that opportunity to run away and I was on my heels, running as fast as I could when a bullet pierced my right arm, and I fell down and winced in pain.
"Fuckkk," I shouted, gripping my injured arm while trying to get back on my feet.
"There he is, the bullet got him" one of the men said.
They had jumped out of the van before it crashed into a nearby tree.
I stood up, gritting my teeth at the excruciating pain and I continued running.
I couldn't let them catch me.
If they did, I was dead meat.
I ran, but then I noticed the blood dripping from my arm left a trail and they could use it to find me, so I misled them.
Since they were still somewhat far away from me, I let some of my blood drip in a particular direction then I followed the opposite direction and since it was getting really dark, they wouldn't be able to find me easily.
As planned, they followed the fake blood trail with their torches and I continued to run in the opposite direction.
