The next morning, Andrew drove himself to the company.
Assistant Ryan went to pick him up at the usual time, but there was no sign of Andrew at home.
A bit puzzled, Assistant Ryan quickly took out his phone and called Andrew, learning that his boss had already arrived at the company.
Assistant Ryan murmured, "Something's wrong, really wrong. The boss has been acting strange these past two days."
He looked at the time on his phone. It was only 7:20 a.m., but the boss was already at the office?
This was completely against Andrew's usual schedule.
Not daring to delay, Assistant Ryan rushed to the company.
When he arrived, he walked straight to Andrew's office. After taking a deep breath, he gently pushed open the door.
"Boss, here are the files you need to sign," Assistant Ryan said while quietly watching Andrew's reaction.
His eyes were sharp, not missing a single detail.
Sure enough, he quickly noticed something unusual.
Their boss, who always cared about his appearance, now had two obvious dark circles under his eyes.
The heavy black rings looked very out of place on his face.
Andrew noticed Assistant Ryan's strange look and frowned slightly, a flash of impatience in his eyes. "Did you take the wrong medicine this morning?"
Assistant Ryan pouted, worried. "Boss, what's wrong? Did you stay up all night?"
Andrew stopped signing and memories of tossing and turning last night flashed through his mind.
He had planned to sleep well but ended up with insomnia.
He turned and twisted in bed, trying every method but couldn't fall asleep.
Helpless, he finally got up to watch two movies and came straight to work when it was still dawn.
"If I didn't sleep, why would I have dark circles?" Andrew said.
Assistant Ryan was surprised. "But you look like you didn't sleep. Why do you have those panda eyes then?"
His eyes were full of confusion and worry. He knew his boss was usually disciplined, so this was rare.
He looked at Andrew, guessing what could have caused this strange behavior.
Andrew definitely wouldn't tell him that Katherine had blocked all his contacts, which made him so angry he couldn't sleep.
"I drank with Ethan last night. Didn't sleep well," Andrew gave a quick excuse. If he didn't say something, Assistant Ryan might imagine all kinds of reasons.
"Oh, so that's why."
Assistant Ryan put away his curiosity and cautiously said, "Boss, I copied the hospital surveillance video of Mrs. Katherine onto this USB."
"Mrs. Katherine really was framed. Should we give this to her?"
Andrew felt annoyed inside. "Leave it there. You go follow up on the cooperation with Feng Tai."
Assistant Ryan picked up the files Andrew had signed, hugging them to his chest. "Uh, okay."
"Boss, about Mrs. Katherine…"
Andrew looked up coldly. "Assistant Ryan, do you work for me or for Katherine?"
"Also, we're divorced now. Don't call her Mrs. anymore."
"Uh, got it, boss. I'll get to work."
After Assistant Ryan left, Andrew looked at the USB on his desk.
He picked it up and threw it into the trash can.
After hesitating for a moment, he took the USB back out of the trash and put it in his pocket.
After the morning meeting, Andrew took his car keys and left the company.
When he drove to Katherine's place, he looked up and saw a man getting out of Katherine's car not far away.
He recognized the man—Joshua, the second son of the Jiang family.
The Jiang family had two sons. The eldest, Jiang Yumin, was in poor health, so Joshua was now managing the family business.
Why is Andrew with Katherine?
Andrew watched them laughing and talking, feeling a sudden heat rise inside him.
"Senior Brother, thank you for taking me to see such beautiful scenery on Wutong Mountain and treating me to special morning tea."
"When you're free, I'll treat you."
Joshua smiled, "Great, should we exchange contact information then?"
"My old contacts don't work anymore."
Katherine nodded with a smile, "Yes, we must exchange."
"Senior Brother, what's your phone number? I'll call you."
"173..."
Joshua took out his phone from his pocket, "Got it. I'll sync it to WeChat. Add me when you're free."
"Okay."
"Then go home and rest. See you next time."
Katherine waved and smiled, "Bye."
Andrew only turned to leave after Joshua and Katherine had completely gone.
His hand on the steering wheel clenched tightly, veins bulging on the back of his hand as a raging anger surged inside him.
"Katherine, you really are something!"
He gritted his teeth and said those words with a low voice full of endless resentment.
Andrew suddenly opened the car door and got out, slamming the door with full force as his anger poured out.
His steps were hurried and messy, anyone could tell he was holding back a boiling rage.
That anger seemed to want to consume him, making him lose his usual calm and reason.
Katherine just stepped into her home and was about to close the door when a strong force violently pushed it open.
Andrew stormed in like a fierce wind and slammed the door behind him with a loud bang. The sound made the whole house feel tense instantly.
Katherine saw Andrew and her already tired eyes turned cold like winter ice. "What are you doing here?"
Her voice was full of obvious impatience and disgust, like she was driving away an unwelcome stranger.
Andrew's lips curled into a mocking smile, but it didn't reach his eyes, which were filled only with deep coldness. "Katherine, are you really that desperate?"
His words were like a sharp knife stabbing straight at Katherine.
"We just divorced and you're already throwing yourself at other men."
His eyes were full of contempt, as if trying to hurt Katherine through this, like a wounded beast fighting back crazily.
Katherine understood immediately he must have just seen Joshua.
"Andrew, what madness are you on now?"
"If you want to go crazy, go find your Charlotte. She'll be happy to see you."
"Don't bother me. I don't have time for you."
She didn't want to get tangled with Andrew anymore. Every conversation with him was like a war, draining her energy.
After saying this, Katherine tried to open the door to let Andrew leave. She wanted to end this suffocating situation quickly.
But before she could reach the door, her left hand was tightly grabbed.
Andrew pulled hard. Caught off guard, Katherine's back slammed into the wall. The sharp pain made her gasp.
Andrew's eyes looked like they were about to burn, bloodshot and fierce. His hands held Katherine's wrists like iron clamps, stopping her from escaping.
"Katherine, you were so eager to divorce me just to be with Joshua?"
Katherine looked at him coldly, without any fear. "So what? Andrew, don't forget, we're already divorced."
"I have the freedom to be with whoever I want."
