"Reject me," Seraphina repeated, clutching the sheets to her naked body, her eyes burning with determination.
The word hit me like a physical blow. My wolf snarled, lurching against my control with such force I nearly staggered.
"No." The word tore from my throat, primal and raw.
Her chin lifted in defiance. "Why not? You hate me. I hate you. This bond has brought nothing but misery."
Something snapped inside me. I lunged forward, pinning her to the bed with my body. My hands captured her wrists, pressing them into the mattress above her head. The sheet slipped, exposing her bare skin to my hungry gaze.
"You want rejection?" I growled, my face hovering inches from hers. "Let me show you exactly why that's never going to happen."
I crashed my lips against hers, swallowing her gasp of protest. She fought against my grip, twisting beneath me, but I held firm. Her resistance only fueled the fire raging through my veins.
