Kaelen's lips hovered inches above mine, his breath warm against my skin. My heart hammered in my chest, a war raging inside me. I should hate this man. I should push him away. I should remember all the hurt he'd caused.
But my body betrayed me, arching slightly toward him.
"Tell me to stop," he whispered, his voice rough with desire. "Tell me you don't want this."
I opened my mouth but no words came out. My brain screamed to fight, but my body, my treacherous body, remained pliant beneath him.
With a growl that vibrated through his chest, Kaelen dipped his head lower. But instead of claiming my lips as I expected, he trailed kisses down my jaw, my neck, lingering at the pulse point that betrayed my racing heart.
"Someone might see," I managed to gasp, suddenly aware of our exposed position in the forest.
His chuckle was dark, possessive. "Let them. Let them all see who you belong to."
