He opened his eyes slowly. The ground beneath him felt smooth but didn't seem real. It was like he was floating, but he wasn't. There were no walls, no ceiling—just an endless white space stretching forever in all directions.
"Am I… in heaven?" Kaito whispered to himself, barely able to hear his own voice.
He sat up slowly, confused, scared, and numb. That's when he heard a voice behind him:
"Are you bored?"
Kaito jumped and turned around. A strange creature stood there—humanoid, with glowing blue skin and smoke swirling gently around its body like it was breathing mist. Its eyes were like stars… wild, deep, ancient.
Kaito's mouth trembled. "W-Who are you?"
The creature chuckled, voice smooth but eerie. "Relax. You're already almost dead. Why panic now?"
Kaito took a shaky breath, calming himself. "Are… are you God?"
The creature burst into laughter. "Me? God?! Hahaha! No, no, I'm not a god. Just someone with an offer."
Kaito frowned, more confused than ever. "Offer?"
"I asked if you were bored," the creature said, stepping closer. "You jumped from a building. Were you that bored with life?"
Kaito's heart burned. His fists clenched. "No. My life was hell. I had nothing. No one. My only weapon was my brain… and even that failed me. So yeah, I jumped. What else was left?!"
The creature nodded, amused by the outburst. Then laughed again. Loud, echoing, endless.
And then, silence.
In a low voice, it said:
"Do you want everything?"
Kaito blinked. "What do you mean… everything?"
"I'll send you to another world. A new world. You'll get three wishes and a mission. Complete the mission… and you can ask for unlimited wishes."
"Wait, wait, what?" Kaito said, overwhelmed. "This sounds crazy—what mission? What world? What wishes?!"
The creature rolled its eyes. "Tch. Haven't you read a single light novel, kid? You get a new life, you get powers, and you live like a king—if you do what I ask. You won't be bored again. That I promise."
Kaito stood frozen. Part of him thought it was a dream. Another part knew… this was real. Whatever this was.
He slowly nodded. "...Okay."
The creature smirked. "Good. Now listen—only one wish can be used right now. The other two will unlock once you're deeper into your journey."
Kaito took a breath, ready to speak his wish…
But before he could, the creature suddenly turned back around, smacking his forehead like he forgot something.
"Oh! By the way!" the creature said. "One small detail I forgot to mention…"
Kaito stared at him.
"In this new world, one of the Seven Deadly Sins will grow stronger inside you. It's a side effect of crossing over. In your case, it's Lust."
Kaito's eyes widened. "L-Lust?! Why lust?!"
The creature shrugged. "It's not my choice. That's just how your soul tilted during your fall. It might make life more interesting though, right?" He winked.
Kaito just stood there, speechless again.
"Anyway, go on, make your wish," the creature said casually, like he hadn't just dropped a curse on him.
Kaito hesitated, then took a deep breath and said, "Alright. My first wish… I want the same power as a character I read in a novel. His name was Ren Takeda."
The creature grinned wide. "Ooh, great choice! You're going to shake the heavens and other things with that one haha . Wish granted."
The space around Kaito trembled. Smoke swirled into his chest. He felt a strange heat inside, like his soul had caught fire—but it didn't hurt. It felt… right. Powerful.
"You'll get your second wish after you make some progress on your goal," the creature added.
"Wait, what is the goal?" Kaito asked.
The creature leaned forward, voice turning serious. "You must find a rare herb. It's called the Soulbeet Herb. It only grows in Velmore—the land of magic and beauty, and also danger."
"You can live however you want," he continued. "Fight, learn, love, conquer… But don't forget your mission. You have until your 100th birthday."
Kaito blinked. "That's a long time."
"Not really," the creature replied. "Time moves fast when you're having thrills."
And then he clapped his hands.
"Alright! Time to go! Have fun, kid. Don't get too horny—hahhaha!" he laughed wildly as the white void began to crack around Kaito like glass breaking.
"Wait! HEY! WAIT!!" Kaito shouted.
But it was too late.
He was falling again—this time, not into death.
But into something crazier than life.
