Chapter 11 - Tian Tian is Shocked

After arriving at the library, Chen Mo found it starkly different from the deserted cafeteria—here it was packed with people. Crowds surged through the aisles, countless individuals striving to change their lives through knowledge.

He headed to the nuclear physics section, scanned the shelves with his eyes, and immediately pulled out a stack of books, organized according to his system's learning method.

Then he sat down at a table and began studying at a steady pace.

Chen Mo learned quickly—most of the time, one pass through the material was enough for him to grasp the concepts. If anything puzzled him, Red Queen, his super AI tutor, would step in to explain, helping him understand deeply and apply the knowledge flexibly.

He read at lightning speed—flipping a page every few seconds.

Rustle, rustle, rustle!

The library was usually so quiet that even page-flipping was rare, but now the constant rustling of pages filled the air, the rapid pace sounding particularly jarring in the silence. A girl seated across from him, deep in thought, was finally distracted by the sound.

The guy's good-looking, she thought, but how can anyone read that fast? Are you really absorbing anything?

Su Qin frowned slightly, unsure whether to remind him to keep it down, especially since he seemed so focused.

...

Two hours passed in the blink of an eye.

Chen Mo had devoured four nuclear physics books—truly comprehended them, not just skimmed through. Though he had only scratched the surface of the vast field of nuclear energy, he had already mastered the basic principles and mechanical operations.

A good haul.

He stood up, stretching his neck and back until his joints cracked.

Studying was exhausting—not just mentally, but physically. Many neck and lower back problems came from long-term intense study sessions.

Once Black Domain Tech was up and running...

He made a mental note: We must restart biochemical research—at the very least, develop a drug that boosts learning efficiency.

As he packed up, his eyes drifted across the table and landed on a girl. He was instantly stunned.

Sitting across from him was a girl as beautiful as Professor Tian Tian. She held a book on genetic recombination, her aura uniquely captivating—tinged with solitude.

She sat alone, like a serene painting. Her expression was calm and resolute, like a plum blossom blooming proudly in the winter frost. Her eyes were deep, filled with a hunger for knowledge, yet subtly tinged with loneliness. Her well-defined nose and fair, glowing skin gave her an air of quiet strength.

It was as if she was cut off from the world, engaged in silent conversation only with the book in her hands—a genius whom no one could understand.

"Master, are you interested in that girl?" Red Queen's chatter broke into Chen Mo's thoughts. "Let me tell you, she's your junior—and a true genius. If you win her over, you've got yourself the top biochemist for Black Domain!"

But Chen Mo ignored her.

Because he now remembered who the girl was.

Su Qin—the top-ranked beauty of Qingmu University. Her photo was still up on the campus forum. She had a mysterious background, no scandals, and was rumored to be a genius scholar. That's all anyone knew.

"Interesting."

Chen Mo chuckled and made a mental note of her, then got up and left.

At that moment, Su Qin looked up as if sensing something. Her gaze met his—her eyes as bright as stars, yet as distant as a lone star in the night, as if silently whispering, No one understands me.

She watched Chen Mo leave, curiosity flashing in her eyes.

She had been observing him for a while. His consistent, lightning-fast page-turning for two hours wasn't like someone skimming—it looked like focused reading. If he really had been reading...

Then his learning speed was terrifying.

Even she couldn't match that.

This...

This stirred her curiosity.

But as a proud genius with a cool personality, Su Qin would never initiate conversation.

So she simply watched him leave, not letting her interest show. Unless something unexpected happened, they likely wouldn't meet again.

Meanwhile, Chen Mo borrowed a few nuclear energy books at the front desk. As he took out his student ID, he checked his phone...

And was stunned to find over a dozen missed calls and multiple messages.

All from Tian Tian.

So eager?

Looks like she's really interested in the materials I sent her!

But why didn't Red Queen notify me?

"Red Queen, why didn't you alert me about the calls from Tian Tian?"

"Master, because you were studying. According to my neural network algorithm, Tian Tian's call wasn't urgent. You could return it later." Red Queen replied calmly.

Fair enough!

Chen Mo thought about it. He did want to recruit Tian Tian, but if things came too easily, people might not value them. Letting her wait a little wasn't a bad thing.

After checking out the books, he paused briefly and then tapped the call-back button on his phone.

Ring ring...

The phone barely rang for half a second before it was picked up.

"Chen Mo! You finally picked up—I've been trying to reach you all evening!" Tian Tian's anxious voice came through.

"Sorry, professor. I was studying at the library and didn't check my phone," Chen Mo replied steadily.

Tian Tian ignored the explanation and got straight to the point.

"Chen Mo, I received the materials you sent. Can you come to my place right away? I haven't even seen the core code, but I can feel it—once this Hatsune AI assistant is completed, it could revolutionize an entire industry."

Her voice grew louder with excitement.

She was overwhelmed.

She had spent her life researching AI, but never created anything successful—true AI was just that difficult.

And now, before her, might be a rudimentary, maybe even mid-level AI.

How could she not be excited?
