Gooood morning!" Yon chirped, his voice unnaturally bright as he breezed past his mother, a poorly suppressed grin tugging at his lips.
His mother squinted, spatula in hand. "What's with you? Did you win the lottery or something?"
"Nope! Just… y'know, vibing!" He snatched his backpack, already halfway out the door. "Byeeee!"
"YON! Your breakfast—!" She waved a sizzling plate of nasi goreng, its aroma rich with garlic and shrimp paste. "It'll get cold!" she continued
"Save it for lunch, mom! Teachers have meetings today—early dismissal at noon! I'll feast then!" The door slammed behind him.
"This kid… always up to something," she muttered, shaking her head as his motorcycle roared to life down the street.

Yon sped to school, the wind whipping through his hair. His stomach growled, but he didn't care—today was the school's 70th anniversary, and rumors of a legendary buffet had haunted the halls for weeks.
No way I'm filling up on rice when there's gonna be cake, satay, maybe even lobster—
He skidded into the parking lot and froze.
The courtyard had transformed overnight. A kaleidoscope of balloons arched over pathways lined with paper lanterns. Gold streamers shimmered like falling stars, and a stage towered at the center, draped in crimson velvet. Even the air smelled sweet—cotton candy?
"Whoa…" Yon whispered, eyes wide. "This is insane."
Yon followed the scent of butter and pandan to the class, where towers of kue lapis—the school's signature layered cake—gleamed under fairy lights.
"Whoa. They really went all out," he murmured, reaching for a slice.
"Obviously, dumbass. It's the 70th anniversary," Malina snipped, materializing beside him with a smirk.
"Says the Malina-dork," Yon shot back, grinning.
"Says the Yon-dork*m," she retorted, flicking flour at his shirt but not got in.
"Enough, you two!" Alice interjected, her clipboard in hand. "The three-meter cake's arriving in ten A. M. Yon, go change your shirt—you'll look like a walking doughnut with that school uniform if you not change"
"Yes, boss," Yon saluted, dodging another flour bomb.

The celebration erupted in chaos and sugar. Students hurled colored powder, launched water balloons, and smashed cream pies into unsuspecting faces. Yon laughed as a glob of frosting landed on Alice's nose, but his smile faltered when he realized—Alex wasn't here.
"Malina," he shouted over the noise, "have you seen Alex? I thought he'd come today!"
"Why you have to cares about him?" She rolled her eyes. "That guy's a lost cause. Focus on yourself, Yon."*m
"But—"
"Molina," she corrected icily, vanishing into the crowd.
Yon wove through the frenzy, cornering Daren, Alex's former lab partner. "Hey—where's Alex? Did you saw him around somewhere here? "
"Alex?" Daren snorted. "Dunno. Wouldn't waste my time."
What happened this week? Yon's chest tightened. The disdain felt… rehearsed, like everyone had agreed to erase Alex overnight.
He found Alice by the stage, her hair dusted with glitter.
"Hi Alice! You did a great job for all of this. You are amazing person that live in this world for arranging this school anniversary birthday today."
" but you are terrible in exam and all of school tasks, especially maths" he continued
" hehe thanks anyway. i just know like this, but yeah your right. I mean i can take your sheets and copying yours because you're smart hehe"
"and..... wait—why's your ear swollen? Did a balloon explode on you?" She continue that realize Yon's left ear swollen.
" ahh nothings, just you know..." he doesn't wanna say it
"sure, i guess because yesterday right? Because you late? Haha like i don't even know you nor your family. Don't worry, i got you"
"thanks anyway"
"sure bestie..." Alice said
"and by the way, what are you gonna do after this? I mean i have nothing to do and it's so boring. Can we do go somewhere else?" she said
" uhmm.... How about go to Lexana's house? I mean that's the place that we first met right? In the beach that so pretty cool. I mean, she already quit school months ago and i kinda miss her, wanna go? " Yon said happily
" uhmm, i mean yeah it's pretty cool to the beach but it's kinda... You know like pretty distance or really that far like we need use bus and train for it" Alice really not sure
" we can try... I mean it's free day right and soon we will move up to last class of high school and there will be a lot of tasks and exam that we cannot leave it. Are you sure?"
"ahh nooo, your words make me surpress. Whatever, i will go with you. So just us? Or there's other person?" he can't avoid it especially she hates tasks or exam
" yeayyy, thanks. I will invite Direnjie, Alex, Arli and Claudia, we need to remind what we do something fun " He mentions his friend from the beginning of school
" wow, that's kinda fun i guess. Oke, i will looking for Direnji, Arli & Claudia because they are the same class, what about Malina?"
" nahh, i don't think she want, especially she hates Arli and Claudia. Don't forget to invite, we will sleepover on Lexana's house, like before " he said with smile in his face
" wait a sec... So basically we don't attend schools tomorrow? "
" yapp, no worries, just one day. It will be fun, i'm really sure about it"
" i guess yeah even teacher will mad atbme but i guess your idea is really best."

After that conversation, Alice & Yon go to their friends or enemies(Alex), so they can do something good.
