Chapter 1 - An Unexpected Invitation

Boring.

Truly boring.

Sitting at my home, hand swiping the fanfic pages non-stop on my phone while lying on the couch all by myself, I silently let out a sigh…

School is boring, homework is soooo easy. In fact, I can even graduate early and go straight to college, but after some more though I'm ultimately going against that. I mean, who wanted to torture themself with "responsibility" this early?

I don't really have many hobbies, and my friends are still sticking with the final test. Not my problem though.

Hah… When will this end…

My parents have some "issues" abroad, and won't return for at least a month. Which means for a whole 30 days, the house is mine alone to care…

And it's only been 2 days since they leave, which i already finished almost half the content of those gacha games and started into some weird

Recently I tried some gacha games HI3rd something or AL, which in all honesty was pretty good despite my first doubtful impression on them.

It feels really good to have the whole thing for yourself, but then it soon starts to get uninteresting…

Dang, wish I had made more friends during earlier years… Oh well, not like i can relive the past or something.

[Ding!]

… Hm?

What the heck is that sound?

Hope I didn't imagine things…

[Would you like to join the Multiverse Chat Group.]

[N/Y]

A transparent screen suddenly showed up in front of me, writing in such weird characters yet I can easily read them like it's my own language.

… Ok, that kinda out of the blue. But a group chat?

What are the chances of this happening? Probably less than double jack-pot consecutively?

And this somehow coincidentally happened when I started to dive into this specific fanfic topic?

Seems like the divine being has some humor after all.

But, in this lonely situation, I frankly kinda excited about all of this.

Who knows, maybe I can get some crazy power-up or have a massive harem at the end of this day?

Although such things started to become a common trend of all the "group chat" fanfic, and personally I feel they're kinda bland, I still feel hype for this to happen.

I mean, who doesn't want a free fortune that lies just right before your eyes?

So without further ado, I accepted the invitation with grace.

[Starting the Multiverse Chat Group…]

[Please select your option.]

[Random][Pick-up]

Hm?

What is this option about?

What a shame, if only I can ask for more about this thing…

[This selection is for you to choose members for the Chat Group.]

[With Random, a total of 5 random people will be selected throughout the Multiverse to join, while Pick-up allows you to personally pick 5 people from the Multiverse to join.]

Oh my, this is new.

So I can pick any 5 persons that ever existed, be it nonfiction or fiction, to join the room? Seems decent enough…

Although, this feels pretty fishy. This may be just my over cautious though, but I rather don't pick any for my own sake.

Besides, after playing many gacha games throughout the months, and even before that, I still prefer to let my own luck decide the outcome.

The pick-up option is quite charming though, but I decided to go all out. After all, the chance of me getting this Multiverse Chat Group is non-existent for started, so why not risk it once more?

Random it is!

[Random options have been selected.]

[Begin selection…]

Lady Luck! Please look upon this common once more!

[Ding! Selection complete.]

["BashBrat" joins the group.]

["ClosestPervert" joins the group.]

["FailedBlade" joins the group.]

["JustSidekick" joins the group.]

Ah yes, the awkward nicknames. Such a familiar sight, and now it's happening before my very eyes. Although at the moment he can't really figure out which is which, it still quite intrigued me.

Well then, time to greet them with hospitality.

"System, how do I communicate?"

[To communicate, one simply thought of the command and thought of what to say to send in the chat.]

Niche. So we don't need to vocalize our thoughts to deliver a message, I would say it's pretty convenient for not attracting confusing looks.

I then started to try to type my message, and all the words I thought of then show up on the group.

[CommonMan: Welcome everyone, to the Chat Group.]

Huh… So my name is CommonMan here? Not as weird as I imagined, but still left me a bit curious there.

I then instruct everyone on how to communicate here, albeit only following system instruction earlier.

[BrashBrat: Um… hi?]

[ClosestPervert: Ok, who are you? Why does this "thing" suddenly appear out of nowhere, and why am I the only one who can see this?!]

[FailedBlade: Same here.]

[CommonMan: Well, to be honest not even I understand all this thing comes out from. It just sort of shows up to me too.]

[ClosestPervert: Huh… I see…]

[CommonMan: Believe it or not is your concern, I have no reason to lie though.]

I'm casually sent the message on the chat group, and no new messages show up for quite a while after my statement.

"What the heck is this…?"

Sitting at the edge of the living led to the garden, the young girl with short red hair staring confusingly at the chat table, which just so happened to show-up right when she finished her morning routine.

She initially that she somehow hallucinated and pinched herself real hard, only to find out that this is real, and it happen right in front oh her very bare eyes.

"Ugh…"

Over there, a young boy with messy spiky black hair frowned upon seeing the message, hand holding his reddened cheeks from getting slapped earlier.

After he gets beat up by some girls for peeking at them when their dress got blown up by the wind and is currently wandering aimlessly, a weird transparent screen suddenly shows up in his sight, and he gets pulled into this weird group chat.

He tries to ask others about the screen, but all of them just look at him like some maniac, and that's why he knows he's the only one that can see this screen.

(This doesn't seem like the work of some curse technique… Interesting…)

In the grand yard of the traditional-like high school, a certain blue-haired girl slightly frowned upon the message, head filled with countless thoughts. The message abrupt her quiet lunch time, and then dragged her into this chat thingy.

She tends to ask others about this phenomenon, but no one seems to understand what she's talking about, some even mock her for "making a joke". After many attempt, she comes to the conclusion that only she can see the group chat.

"I wonder what this is…?"

Leaning at the side of his car, a yound man mumbling about the weird screen. He doesn't show any particular emotions on his face, but he himself is quite curious about all this.

Just after he deliver a "special" girl to the apartment and was order to go back, a weird screen suddenly pop up in his vision. He secretly look around for more reaction, but no one seems to see the chat group before his very eyes.

[CommonMan: Well then, anyone have any questions?]

I then send another message after some times, and the response come almost instantly.

[ClosestPervert: Could you change the name of us here? I don't really fond of the nickname.]

[BrashBrat: Same here, something like "Red Justice" would be more than suffice.]

[ClosestPerver: Red Justice? Who wanted a name like that?]

[BrashBrat: I am! I wished to become a hero in the future, and that's the nickname i came up with.]

[ClosestPervert: What? Are you like, 9 years old?]

[BrashBrat: Sorry to disappointed you, but I'm 10.]

I slightly widen my eyes at the message, a bit surprising at this surprised revelation. Seems like this is odder than i initially though…
