Chapter 7 - 6

When I got home to the mansion, all I could think about were the things Sanny Bels said.

I exhaled deeply as I looked up and saw Zion sitting on the long sofa in the living room, looking in my direction.

He was only wearing casual clothes. He sat so elegantly on the sofa, as if he just came from a business meeting.

It made me nervous. His gaze made me uncomfortable. I felt like he could see through my soul.

I saw his mouth move, so I looked away.

"How was your shopping?" he suddenly asked, so I cleared my throat and looked at him.

"It was okay..."

"You spent too little," he replied.

I closed my eyes in frustration. What was I supposed to do? I'm not used to splurging money! Especially money I didn't work hard to earn.

"Didn't Butler Enrod tell you that you could spend a lot of money?" he sounded a little irritated, so I opened my eyes and stared at him.

That's when I noticed Butler Enrod was also in the living room, bowing not far from Zion.

"Don't you have anything to say to me, Butler Enrod?" Zion said coldly, making my heart pound harder. "Didn't you tell her about it?"

"It's my fault, Sire. I deeply apologize."

"Hey! It's not Butler Enrod's fault! Don't worry, I'll spend a lot of your money to buy expensive things just so you won't get mad, Your Majesty!" I said irritably, rolling my eyes.

"I heard someone came to you..." he said in a very cold tone, making my heart pound louder.

I muttered, "Yeah, someone did."

He didn't say anything, but I saw his eyes move before he suddenly stood up.

"Don't let people push you around. That would bring shame to our family name," he said before turning away and walking up the stairs.

I frowned as I looked where he went. I really don't understand this villain. What could Sanny have seen in him? He deserves to be the villain, psh!

I shook my head, and suddenly, Carlo Ville came back to mind—the male lead in My Lily, and apparently, my ex in this world.

What kind of crazy story have I gotten myself into!? How I wish I could remember Ally Cole's memories before she became Zion Cartridge's wife.

I didn't feel like going upstairs, so I headed straight to my room.

Of all the stories I've read, why did I end up in an unfinished online novel!? And it's all because I didn't want Sanny to worry about me going home alone.

I decided to soak in the bathtub. I just wanted to relax after everything that happened. I needed a break.

I didn't realize I had fallen asleep.

When I opened my eyes, I was surrounded by darkness. I walked through the darkness, trying to find a way out. I wasn't afraid of the dark.

While I walked, flashes of dreams—or maybe memories—appeared in front of me.

I tried to reach for them and was suddenly faced with an unconscious woman on the side of the road. No cars were passing by, so I slowly walked toward her.

She was lying on her side beside the street, blood all over her.

I approached her nervously, and when I saw her face, I froze.

"W-What—" I said in disbelief. "I-It's me?"

It was me, lying on the side of the road. Covered in blood.

I reached out to touch her, but my hand passed right through her body. I was confused. Am I a ghost? Is this a dream?

I looked around and saw my tote bag and broken phone not far from the body.

This was the outfit I wore before I died! What am I doing here?

My heart was pounding, my knees felt weak as I stared at my own face and touched the side of my stomach where the blood was still flowing. Is this really a dream? What's happening to me!?

I sensed a car approaching, so I turned and saw it stop a short distance away. The door opened, and someone rushed out.

"Butler Enrod?" My eyes widened as I stood up.

"Sire! The woman's bleeding everywhere here!" Butler Enrod shouted, and then the backseat door opened and Zion emerged.

With his usual cold expression, he walked toward us and looked down at the woman—me.

"Is she breathing?" was all he said as Butler Enrod checked my pulse.

"She's breathing weakly, Sire. Her blood is still flowing. If we don't take her to the nearest hospital soon, she might die," Butler Enrod said seriously.

"Leave her here then," Zion said and turned to leave, but stopped and looked back at Butler Enrod.

My blood boiled at what Zion said.

I gritted my teeth. "You deserve to be the heartless, ruthless villain I read about! How dare you! You should've just helped me!"

"Sire!?" Butler Enrod called out.

But Zion suddenly turned back to us and opened his mouth.

"Go to the nearby hospital," he said.

Butler Enrod picked up my body and rushed into the car. Zion didn't enter immediately; instead, he turned to look at my tote bag and broken phone.

I thought he was about to get in the car, but he picked up my tote bag and phone, turned his back to me, and walked toward the vehicle. My vision blurred as I heard the engine start.

I suddenly opened my eyes, gasping for breath. I looked around and realized I was still in the bathtub. I quickly got out, dried off, and changed into my pajamas while trying to process the dream.

"Or was it a nightmare?" I whispered.

I could feel tears rolling down my cheeks as I remembered my body. I guess I really am dead.

But what am I doing in this world? That body should've been the one I wore—not mine! I'm so confused. I want answers!
