The way to awaken the Giant...
Was to turn Su Mo into light.
At first glance, it sounded like a wild, delusional plan—but on closer thought, it wasn't as far-fetched as it seemed.
The "light" of the Tiga Universe might not be the same as the "light" in the Fairy Tail world.
But the Mist Space didn't care about such distinctions.
When it said "powersharing," it meant complete and absolute sharing.
If Su Mo from the Fairy Tail world could achieve elementalization and transform into light, then the other Su Mos across different universes would also, by extension, possess that same ability.
That's the kind of authority Mist Space had—transcendingallworldrules.
Having confirmed that the idea was truly feasible, the Su Mo from the Danmachi world asked:
"So then... is there anything I can help with in this plan?"
Sure, in the dungeon world, he'd played it safe like a salted fish hiding in a cave—but that was only because he had no cheat ability to rely on. Now that he did, he didn't want to sit back and let the others carry him.
He wanted to contribute—because even if no one would blame him for taking a free ride, self-reliance was a virtue!
But...
"Not at the moment," the Su Mo from the Campione world shook his head.
"The elementalization part is all on Fairy Tail-me. The rest of us just need to wait."
"When he returns, that's when the next stage begins."
Apparently, Fairy Tail Su Mo had been reincarnated as a child in that world.
He'd studied magic under Makarov for years now.
Although his magical talent was only average, thanks to his modern knowledge and unique way of thinking, he had made quite a name for himself. In fact, through relentless effort, he had broken records and become one of the youngest S-class mages in Fairy Tail history.
After the plan was laid out in Mist Space, that version of Su Mo had returned to his world and thrown himself into researching elementalization—specifically, how to become light.
And once he succeeded, the rest of the plan could be carried out step by step.
"I see," Danmachi Su Mo nodded.
He knew he couldn't help with elementalization. The dungeon world had magic, sure—but it was more like traditional fantasy magic. No one had ever heard of becoming literal light.
"Hopefully, Fairy Tail-me doesn't take too long..."
"Otherwise, if we all turn into old men before he shows up, we're screwed."
He was just about to crack another joke when—
Footsteps echoed clearly from the mist.
All three Su Mos turned toward the sound.
"Hahaha! Guess who's back?"
From the fog emerged a young man in a black cloak speckled with starlight, his demeanor confident and striking.
Danmachi Su Mo was just about to ask who he was—
But the other two beat him to it.
"You're finally here! Good thing I didn't give up!"
"Well?! Did it work? Did you succeed with elementalization?!"
The Su Mos from the Tiga and Campione universes rushed forward, eyes wide with anticipation.
The man flashed a proud smile.
"Of course."
"Do you even need to ask? I'm Su Mo—the magical genius!"
Clap! Clap! Clap!
The two Su Mos didn't hold back, applauding enthusiastically.
"Amazing! As expected from Su Mo—truly, I am a genius!"
"I knew it! I always knew I was a prodigy!"
They cheerfully patted themselves on the back by proxy.
Danmachi Su Mo stood silently, expressionless.
"...Are you guys seriously complimenting yourselves in such a roundabout way?"
Still, considering he was also Su Mo, wasn't that technically praise for him too?
...Oh, in that case—carry on.
Just then, the newly arrived Su Mo turned toward him and raised an eyebrow.
"And this guy—is he the newcomer?"
"That's right!" the others replied in unison.
Campione Su Mo gave a slight nod and began introducing the newcomer.
After giving a brief overview of DanMachi Su Mo's situation, the four versions of Su Mo exchanged glances—and smiled.
Then, without needing to say a word, they each raised their right hand and brought them together in the center.
In that moment, their powers completely merged.
DanMachi Su Mo closed his eyes and concentrated. As expected, he could immediately sense the surge of strength within him.
Though the overall amount of magical energy hadn't increased by much, his understanding of light-element magic had deepened significantly.
But more importantly—
"I've fully mastered Elementalization!"
The Diga Su Mo exclaimed in excitement.
Without delay, he activated his magic, and his body instantly transformed into a glowing orb of light.
DanMachi Su Mo, who had never cast magic before and was rather curious about the whole thing, followed suit—and turned into a ball of light as well.
Now, the two floating light-spheres hovered in front of each other, looking rather like... a pair of flying light bulbs.
Floating, glowing, magic-using light bulbs.
"..."
Campione Su Mo tried his best to suppress the urge to say something snarky. Choosing to ignore the two idiots zipping around like fireflies in a rave, he turned his gaze toward the Fairy Tail Su Mo.
"You've gained more than just Elementalization, haven't you? I haven't had a chance to examine it in detail, but I can already sense it... there's something else mixed into the power you just shared with us. Something strong."
"Hmph! I knew someone would notice!"
Fairy Tail Su Mo grinned smugly.
"At first, I was only planning to train until I mastered Elementalization. But then, for some reason, the Guild Master noticed how hard I was pushing myself. And—completely misunderstanding my intent—he got it in his head that I was preparing to face some unbeatable foe."
He rolled his eyes in amusement.
"So, before I could say anything, he went and handed me his most secret, treasured magic technique. Just shoved it into my hands like I was the next savior of the world."
