Chapter 3 - Letter

After stepping out of the tub, her body that once stained with blood now glistens with droplets of water, cascading down from her silverly white hair. Selena, now cleansed, examined her physique. A slender waist and voluptuous upper part, I'm afraid no individual would be able resist such an alluring body.

Noticing the tattered white shirt lying beneath the bathtub. Selena planned to discard it, along with the pants and undergarments left inside the basement, hoping to cover up evidences of her advancement. As for the stench, she planned to disguised it with a rotten meat, which would effectively mask the foul odor of blood.

Returning to the living room, Selena took a quick glance at the time. "12:50", It will be passed midnight, any vendors and street shops would soon be closed. Using Seth's memory, Selena, drenched in water, quickly returned to the hallway, leaving a trail of droplets, using the bathroom's white curtain in attempt to cover her body. Upon arriving at Seth's bedroom, Linda, became self-aware of what she might barge into.

It's fine, I'm him now... Or rather her. The door creaked open after Selena's gentle force, revealing a room noticeably in disarray, clothes scattered haphazardly as well as disoriented furnishing, The sight made Selena flinched of how unprecedented the room was. Seriously, do men not have a sense of cleanliness? Who live in such a hazardous environment?

Navigating through the pile of filthy clothes across the floor and stopping after facing Seth's closet. If I open this, would I be met with a mountainous of clothes? Although Selena is fused with Seth's memories, the ones Seth believed to be insignificant are difficult to retrieved, including his disorganized room.

Unexpectedly, the clothes inside are neatly arranged and hanged according to height and wideness. Selena, confused by the tidiness of the closet, questioned why the room is in chaos and the closet isn't. Nevertheless, she started to look for clothes suitable for her. Her browsing continued for minutes, but each clothes are either too loose or just completely unfit for her body proportion, in the end she settled for Seth's long-sleeve shirt which is a part of Seth's working outfit along with a black vest and trousers.

My next action would be to buy nearly expired meat from vendors. Would they still be present during this hour? Selena's head turned towards the window, the crimson moon, now at it's peak hour, fully covers the city in red moonlight. Causing Selena to reconsider her purchasing of meat tomorrow morning.

Let's clean up the remaining blood in the basement first, if left unattended, it result in the infestation of the house. Having said that, Selena returned to the hallway, with Seth's memories, she quickly found the storage room across Seth's bedroom. The thick layer of dust blanketed the arranged boxes, each named as tools, old toys, and old clothes, on the right side of the door are mop and wooden buckets, probably placed there intentionally for immediate access for cleaning.

After filling the wooden bucket with water from the bathroom, Selena returned to the basement's entrance once again. The foul stench of blood and rust permitted the entrance of the basement, one would quickly assume a corpse lays inside, bedridden with insects and rodents, feasting on the corpse, but fortunately, that corpse is standing right in front of it's grave. She didn't how long she'd been there unalive, but after being conscious, the odor isn't noticeable to her up to this moment.

As she descend through the trapdoor, she instinctively covered her nose. The foul stench hit her like a wave, thick and rotting, curling in her lungs and stirring a hint of nausea . "I'd rather be drowned in water than suffer from such smell" she muttered, voice muffled behind her sleeve. Eyes narrowing, she pressed on through the gloom. "Let's get this over with."

The trapdoor, opened from within. Selena, having done with cleaning the basement and holding a piece of blood stained cloth that seemed torned and withered, her next course of action would be to proceed with her intial plan, heading outside to buy an expired meat.

Although it's already midnight, there should still be vendors and streets shops open trying to make their last penny for the day...

According to Seth's memory, there should be a nearest street shop, selling muttons and beefs across Daffodil Street. Located at the Iron Cross Street, an unremarkable lane nestled within West Borough — a region populated mostly by the struggling working class. The Tingen City devised into four boroughs, South, West, and East. The Daffodil Street is situated in East Borough, where the avarage-class workers who earn five to six pounds a week could afford to live. The shop in Seth's memory is placed by the Iron Cross Street, intersecting the East Borough and North Borough named "Wilton's Meat Shop".

If I walked there by foot, I would arrive around 1:20, a ten minute walk from here, amounting to twenty minute walk returning back.. Selena deduce the time it takes for her to purchase a raw meat. If I took on a public carriage, it take less than five minutes, that is to say if there's still public carriages available in this hour. Public carriages costs around three to five pence depending on the amount of passengers it currently holds. Seth currently have pounds amounting to four-hundred pounds, equivalent to an avarage worker's three-year of service.

Thinking about it, Seth did earn quite an amount of money from his years as an Assasin, It would put him into an upper class neighborhood costing three-hundred pounds per year, but considering his method of income, which is unstable depending on circumstances, I would say that he made the right decision renting an apartment in an average class neighborhood.

After a long moment of contemplation, Selena came into conclusion. I'll just remain here until tomorrow, public carriages are much more convenient than walking a twenty minute trip.

Gathering her thoughts, she almost forgot the stained tattered shirt and the torned garments in her hand. Deciding that It would be best to discard this as quickly as possible before anyone could noticed.

Arriving at the living room, Selena glanced at the ticking grand clock. "1:15." I guess it's a good choice rescheduling it in the morning.

After retrieving the tattered shirt from the bathroom and the blood stained undergarments from the basement, her next destination would be to dispose of it on trash bin outside of the apartment, ridding any evidence that might point to her "former self's" advancement.

Just as she approached the door, a white-colored letter was lying innocently on the door mat, The content is neatly arrange inside while a red colored wax was stamped on the opening, revealing a single capital letter "I".
