Cherreads

Chapter 10 - THE PROPOSAL

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Henry prepared to make a moment he would cherish forever.

The gentle rustle of leaves in the evening breeze seemed to whisper encouragement, while the serene ambiance of the park provided the perfect backdrop for what was to come.

This was not just any evening; it was the evening Henry had been dreaming of for months. Tonight, he would propose to Lucy, the love of his life.

Lucy had always adored surprises, and Henry had taken great care to make this moment as magical as possible.

He chose their favorite spot, where they had spent countless evenings talking and laughing under the stars.

It was here, amidst nature's quiet beauty, that their love had blossomed. Tonight, it would reach a new pinnacle.

As Lucy approached, her smile brighter than the setting sun, Henry felt his heart race with anticipation.

She wore a flowing dress that swayed gently with the breeze, and her eyes sparkled with the same warmth that had captivated him from the very beginning.

She had no idea what Henry had planned, and that made the moment even more thrilling.

They walked hand in hand along the lakeside path, reminiscing about their journey together.

Henry's voice trembled slightly as he recounted their first meeting, their shared adventures, and the countless ways Lucy had brought light into his life.

She listened intently, her cheeks glowing with affection.

When they reached a secluded spot adorned with fairy lights and rose petals meticulously arranged by Henry earlier, Lucy gasped in awe.

"Henry," she whispered, her voice filled with wonder, "this is beautiful."

Henry took her hands in his and gazed into her eyes, his heart brimming with emotion.

"Lucy," he began softly, "from the moment I met you, my world has been brighter, my days have been sweeter, and my heart has been fuller.

You are my best friend, my greatest love, and my forever dream."

Tears glistened in Lucy's eyes as she held his gaze. She could feel the depth of his words resonating in her soul.

Taking a deep breath, Henry knelt down on one knee and pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket.

Inside was a delicate ring that sparkled like the stars above them.

"Lucy," he continued, his voice steady despite the flood of emotions within him, "will you marry me?

Will you let me spend every day of my life loving you, cherishing you, and making you happy?"

For a moment, time seemed to stand still.

Lucy's hands flew to her mouth as a wave of joy washed over her.

Her heart felt as though it might burst from the overwhelming love she felt for this man who had just poured his heart out to her.

"Yes," she finally whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "Yes, Henry! A thousand times, yes!"

Henry slipped the ring onto her finger as tears of happiness streamed down their faces.

Rising to his feet, he wrapped Lucy in a warm embrace, holding her as if he never wanted to let go.

The world around them faded away, leaving only the two of them in their perfect moment.

As they stood there by the lake under the starlit sky, their hearts intertwined and their futures forever bound.
