In the beginning… there was only the Samsara — the Great Wheel.
It turned endlessly, birthing realms, shaping stars, devouring time itself.
Across these boundless planes where gods had long perished and demons slumbered beneath aeons of silence, a single truth echoed louder than fate:
"To live… is to climb."
The world of Varunloka, vast and ancient, is layered not only by mountains and seas, but by realms of cultivation. At its heart lies a mysterious law — the Law of Ascension — where mortals carve their path to the divine, forging their essence against heavens that resist every step.
And every soul — be they beggar or prince — begins in the Mortal Realm.
Let the truth be known.
The Mortal Realm — the first gate on the path of eternity — is divided into seven arduous stages:
1. Qi Condensation — The breath of the world. The cultivator first learns to draw spiritual energy into their body. Their meridians awaken. It is like lighting a candle in an ancient cave.
2. Meridian Opening — The body must open its internal veins to flow the gathered Qi. One wrong path, and the cultivator's foundation shatters. It is the stage where more than half fail.
3. Foundation Establishment — Here, the cultivator roots their energy deeply, forming a spiritual core. Pillars of internal force begin to shape. They no longer rely on breath alone — they begin to walk with energy.
4. Core Formation — The spiritual energy condenses into a golden or elemental core inside the dantian. The body and soul begin to separate — they are no longer fully mortal.
5. Spirit Sea Realm — The cultivator's consciousness expands like a sea. They can manifest their inner spirit, communicate with lesser beasts, and wield Qi beyond the body.
6. Soul Manifestation — The soul becomes visible, the mind becomes a weapon. This is the realm where illusions and spirit techniques arise. The cultivator's will gains form.
7. Heaven Ascension — The final mortal stage. Here, one must challenge the heavens themselves — endure tribulation lightning, soul judgment, and karmic retribution. Many perish. Few ascend.
But beware…
Between Heaven Ascension and True Immortal lies a gulf that few survive. For in that chasm, the very world turns against you.
This… is merely the beginning.
And thus begins the tale of a child born beneath a shattered moon — in the ruins of an ancient sect, far from the eyes of kings and sages.
He does not yet know it — but fate has whispered his name into the Wheel of Samsara.
And the Wheel… has begun to turn again.
