Sendrick Reyley sat inside the adventurer's guild, listening to the chatter of mercenaries and warriors. The air was thick with the scent of ale and steel, but the room fell silent when the doors burst open. A little girl, barely ten years old, stumbled in, panting heavily. Her tattered dress was stained with dirt, her eyes wide with terror.
"Everyone! There's a man outside calling himself a god!" she screamed. "He says he's come to destroy this multiverse! He says humanity must pay for its sins, but first… he's looking for the strongest warrior on this planet to give us a fighting chance. He… he killed everyone in town like they were nothing! Please, somebody! Anybody! Help!" A tense silence gripped the guild before the panic set in. Then a man said "I'm not helping! I'm getting out of here!" another man then said "Yeah, dude, let's go!" The receptionist girl screamed "Everybody, run!!!" Chaos erupted. Adventurers scrambled for the exits, pushing past each other in a desperate attempt to escape. Amid the panic, Sendrick Reyley stood up from his seat. Without a word, he stepped outside.
A lone figure stood in the distance, his presence radiating an overwhelming aura of destruction. His golden hair shimmered in the sunlight, his piercing eyes filled with an ancient and unshakable power. His body emanated divine energy, shaking the very fabric of existence.
Reyley smirked. So, this is the so-called god?
"Hey, buddy," he called out. "I heard you were looking for me."
The man turned to face him and smirked. "So, the strongest warrior of this world finally steps forward."
He took a step closer. The ground beneath him cracked and crumbled.
"My name is Maane Chronick," he declared, his voice echoing through the heavens. "I am a god, and I will—"
"Blah, blah, blah," Reyley interrupted, rolling his eyes. "Destroy our multiverse and all that? Heard it all before."
Chronick's smirk widened. "You're acting cocky for a human. I have traveled the entire cosmos, destroying thousands upon thousands of multiverses. Not a single being has been able to best me… let alone scratch me."
He raised his hand, and the sky turned blood-red. Reality itself trembled at his presence. "I have deemed myself a deity," he continued. "I am All powerful and omnipotent. Soon, I will become the Celestial King."
Reyley chuckled. "The Celestial King? Nah, I'll be the one taking that title." His eyes gleamed with excitement. "And besides, I've heard enough of your crap. Let's fight."
The very fabric of time broke as Reyley vanished.
Huh!, — Chronick said as the expression in his face changed
The impact of Rey striking a deadly hit at chronick's guts sent shockwaves rippling across the multiverse. Half the stars in the sky flickered and died.
Chronick staggered, his divine form cracking. Blood spilled from his lips. His omnipresent essence was being erased.
His body crumbled. His last words whispered through the void.
"I… was… so close to become… a god"
The battlefield fell silent.
Reyley exhaled, crossing his arms. "Tch. I feel sorry for the multiverses he destroyed. I wonder how weak the people living in them must've been." He glanced at his hands, unimpressed. "And I don't even come close to people that are actually strong…"
