Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 2: "how to train you're hero ( poorly)

Page 1

Wide panel:

A forest trail bathed in sunlight. Birds chirp. Leon and Leo walk side-by-side. Leo's pack is crooked, and he's panting.

LEO:

"Are we there yet?"

LEON:

"Not Yet."

LEO:

"So, are we lost?"

LEON:

"I mean emotionally. Yes. But Physically? Ehh, Almost."

Page 2

They reach a cliffside that overlooks a ruined shrine nestled deep in the woods.

LEON (pointing):

"There. That's where the first Thread of Fate is hidden."

LEO:

"Cool! What's guarding it? A dragon? A giant? A cursed guardian with a tragic backstory?"

LEON:

"No, it's just…Bees."

Page 3

Cut to: a swarm of magical, glowing bees circling a pedestal inside the shrine.

Leo gulps.

LEO:

"I hate bees."

LEON:

"These shoot lightning. Have fun!"

Page 4

Training flashback panel montage:

Leon throws a rock and hits Leo in the forehead.

Leo swings a sword wildly and almost decapitates a tree (which falls on him).

Leon yawns during Leo's fireball attempt—gets singed anyway.

LEON (narration):

"He's got no talent. But he's got heart. And for some reason… that counts more than I want it to. But he is still far from being the perfect Hero."

Back to the shrine.

Leo stands nervously at the entrance. Leon hands him a small charm.

LEON:

"Use this when you're about to die. It'll rewind five seconds. One-time only."

LEO:

"That's… not super comforting."

LEON:

"You'll be fine... Probably."

Page 6

Action sequence:

Leo darts past the bees, dodging magical bolts. He fumbles, tumbles, screams, rolls, and somehow—miraculously—grabs the Thread of Fate from the pedestal.

LEO:

"I DID IT!"

*The panel cuts to Leon casually swatting a bee with a glowing hand.

LEON (deadpan):

"By the way, you also alerted the hive. We should run."

Page 7

Chase sequence: Leo running full-speed with bees behind him, Leon jogging lazily behind.

LEO:

"WHY ARE THEY SO FAST?!"

LEON:

"Last time I checked, time moves pretty fast. So, of course, they're fast."

Page 8

They dive into a river to escape. Splash!

The bees zap the water and give up.

Leo floats on his back, exhausted.

LEO:

"This hero stuff is awful."

LEON:

"You'll get used to it. Or won't. Which I hope won't happen."

Page 9

Back at camp. Campfire crackling. Leo holds the glowing Thread of Fate, amazed.

LEO:

"So… what is this thing?"

LEON:

"One of five Threads that keep fate stitched together. We gather them all, we can rewrite destiny. Or maybe make a decent sandwich. Depends on how you use it."

Page 10 (Final panel):

Leo stares at the Thread, serious for once.

LEO:

"…I want to do this. I want to be the one who finally saves it for good."

LEON (softly):

"Then let's hope this time sticks."
