Chapter 5 - Thank you

After a while, Eli stopped the car in front of C-Block.

Lily didn't get out of the car and kept fidgeting with her fingers. Eli looked at her and asked. "What?"

Lily didn't answer. She didn't really want to leave him. She didn't know why she wanted to spend some more time with him.

Eli asked again, "Do you want me to send you upstairs?"

Lily nodded vigorously. Eli chuckled and parked the car. They both got out of the car and went into the elevator. Lily pressed the button for the 23rd floor. They stood in silence and waited to go upstairs.

The elevator doors opened and they stepped out. Eli sent her to the front of her flat's doors and broke the silence, saying, "Go inside, I'll be leaving now."

"Don't" Lily blurted out and grabbed the hem of his shirt tightly and looked at him pitifully.

Eli took her hand and pulled her into his embrace and explained.

"Lily, my family doesn't know about my grandfather's condition yet. So I have to go back and see him. It's late and your family will be worried too. Listen to me, go inside and eat something first. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" He tightened his arms around her before releasing her.

Lily, who had been hugging him so tightly, finally looked at him, nodded, and said, "Hmm, take care," before leaving his embrace and going inside the house.

But before she could go inside, Eli grabbed her hand and hugged her again, he kissed her on the forehead before leaving.

Lily, who had gone into the house, stood by the door for a few minutes before going to her room. She sat on her bed and her mind was totally occupied by Eli. She didn't know why, but her eyes watered.

Eli arrived at the hospital and went to the VIP ward. He sat on the sofa opposite Felix's bed. There was another man there, he is his grandfather's butler. He was sitting next to the bed, peeling fruit for the old man to eat. He came here after Lily and Eli left the hospital. He greeted Eli and gave him a glass of water.

Eli accepted the glass and nodded at him.

"Why are you so late?" Grandpa Allen asked him.

"I don't want to leave my wife," Eli replied with his usual coldness.

The butler was very shocked by his young master's words.

Grandpa Allen snorted him "Wife?, you are already calling her wife, do you dare to register a marriage. Otherwise, you are unqualified to call her wife".

"You don't need to provoke me, Grandpa. She is still young. Let her take her time."

"Thank you" Eli uttered.

This time, not only the butler uncle, but also Grandpa Allen was surprised, "For what?"

"You liked her and wanted me to meet her. So you deliberately let me know about your accident and called me. But today, you really did a great favour to me grandpa. Eli revealed his grandfather's little scheme.

Grandpa Allen nodded, "Yes, because it is her. When I was losing consciousness, she kept telling me, 'Don't worry, Everything will be fine.' She's just like my wife, very kind."

"Is that why? you kept smiling at my wife" Eli replied sarcastically.

"Have you forgotten how you smiled at my wife?" Grandpa Allen retorted.

"My Grandmother is the one who took care of me the most. So I'll smile for her to make her happy". Eli replied.

"She's my Granddaughter in-law and my lifesaver. So I'll smile for her to make her happy too" Grandfather Allen countered his Grandson.

The butler choked up at the words of his master and young master.

Eli narrowed his eyes and chose to remain silent.

"I finally got you to shut up," Grandpa Allen commented, accepting his grandson's silence as defeat.

"Today, I'm really grateful to you, so you win" Eli replied, smiling sincerely.
