After buying a new set of clothes, Shajin suddenly appeared more mature.
He arrived at the casino and exchanged 50,000 Mora in chips.
"Big! Big! Big!"
"Small! Small! Small!"
The gamblers shouted excitedly as the dice rolled in the bowl, producing a crisp sound.
Just as Shajin was about to join the game, a man suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Hey, young sir, would you like to try our latest gambling game?"
The man asked mysteriously.
Curious, Shajin replied, "What game is that?"
The man smiled and lowered his voice, "It's an extremely exciting game that will make your heart race!"
He then pulled out a deck of playing cards, shuffled and cut the deck with skillful hands.
He placed the cards on the table and said to Shajin, "You just need to guess whether the next card will be red or black. If you guess correctly, you win double your bet! What do you think? Want to give it a try?"
Shajin, intrigued, looked at him and asked, "Is there an impartial witness?"
"Of course!"
After securing the deal, they signed a contract.
In this land of contracts, breaking a contract is an offense against the Geo Archon, Morax. Breaking one's word is not something to be taken lightly.
Shajin sat down and placed all his chips on the table.
"Let's begin."
'How foolishly brave.'
The man thought inwardly, as he began to deal the cards.
The first card landed on the table.
Without hesitation, Shajin chose black.
He won 100,000 chips and placed them all back on the table.
The second card landed. Shajin again chose black.
He won 300,000 chips and placed them all back on the table.
The third card landed. Shajin still chose black.
He won 900,000 chips.
The fourth card landed.
"Black," Shajin said, resting his chin on his hand, his tone calm.
The man's face twisted with displeasure, but he continued to deal the cards.
At this point, Shajin had accumulated a total of 4.05 million chips.
The onlookers were astonished. It was rare to see someone guess correctly four times in a row.
The man's expression turned a shade darker, but he continued dealing.
When the fourth card landed, Shajin leaned forward slightly and said with a faint smile,
"Black."
'Gotcha!'
The man thought, grinning inwardly, as he prepared to flip the card.
However, Shajin placed his hand on top of the card.
"Don't rush it. Let's reveal it together."
The man's expression faltered.
"Wait, don't—"
"Oh, it seems I won."
Shajin picked up the "Spades Ace" from the table.
He leaned closer to the man's ear and whispered,
"You wouldn't want your little trick to be exposed, would you?"
This meant the man would now owe Shajin 8.1 million chips.
The man's face turned white, his body trembling, his lips twitching.
"I… I don't have that much money now, but I'll gather it…"
Before he could finish, Shajin interrupted him impatiently.
"I'm not interested in hearing your sob story."
Shajin's gaze turned cold as he looked at the man, then shifted to the impartial witness beside him.
He asked flatly, "What should we do in this situation?"
The witness adjusted his glasses and calmly replied, "According to the contract, if one party fails to fulfill their obligations, we will enforce the terms of the contract, which may include confiscating all assets and freezing bank accounts, among other actions."
Upon hearing this, the man's face turned even paler, his eyes wide in disbelief.
"Well then, do you have the Mora now?"
The man stared at Shajin, his eyes widening in terror. He looked as though he had seen a devil.
"Well, I'm bankrupt, and you're not going to leave here alive!"
The man pulled out a dagger from his inner jacket pocket and stabbed it towards Shajin's heart.
Clang!
The man's eyes widened as the dagger bounced off a shield made of Geo energy.
"How boring…"
Shajin waved his hand, and the Geo energy enveloped the man entirely, leaving only a small hole for him to breathe through.
Shajin then sat down in an empty chair, turning to the impartial witness.
"Call the Millelith, and make sure his assets are transferred to me."
"Don't worry. Our casino has been running for so long thanks to our credibility."
As for whether it was true or not, Shajin didn't care to comment.
The witness nodded and left to handle the situation.
The previously noisy casino fell into an eerie silence.
A tense and uneasy atmosphere replaced the clamor, as if time itself had frozen.
The other gamblers, who had been immersed in their own games, now turned their attention to Shajin, their expressions mixed.
Some were shocked, others sneered, but all eyes were on the unfolding drama.
However, Shajin remained unaffected by the attention.
He sat calmly in his seat, his body slightly leaning forward, hands resting on the table. His eyes held an inscrutable expression.
His face was as cold as stone, without a flicker of emotion, as if he cared little for the world around him.
In fact, Shajin had noticed something unusual when the second card was dealt. He saw that the man could easily alter the color of the cards with a slight press.
This subtle technique had raised his suspicion, but he remained outwardly calm, keeping his thoughts to himself.
Moments later, the Millelith arrived in full force, their armor shining and spears ready. They surrounded the man, who was now trembling in fear.
"Sir, you've violated the contract. According to the decree of the Geo Archon, you are to be taken into custody and face punishment."
The leader of the Millelith spoke coldly.
The man looked at Shajin desperately, hoping for mercy, but Shajin merely gave him a brief glance before turning away, no longer interested.
"Take him away."
The leader of the Millelith commanded.
As the soldiers dragged the man away, the atmosphere in the casino began to return to normal.
The gamblers resumed their games, as if nothing had happened.
Shajin exchanged his chips for the equivalent Mora, and the witness returned shortly after.
"Sir, the man's name was on a property deed for a hotel valued at 8 million Mora, with contents worth an additional 10 million Mora."
"As compensation from our casino, you won't need to pay any extra Mora."
"Mm."
Shajin took the deed, stood up, and adjusted his clothes before heading for the exit.
His steps were leisurely, as if the events that had just transpired had no impact on him.
Stepping outside into the night, Shajin gazed up at the sky. The stars twinkled brightly, illuminating the night.
He took a deep breath, enjoying the cool, peaceful air.
"How interesting." Shajin muttered to himself.
'The entire clan is gone, and now life seems to be going smoothly for me. Could this be the [blessing] from the Mother Goddess?!'
He chuckled bitterly. Even though he had achieved what he had longed for, he felt no joy.
"Father…"
"Mother…"
"Sister…"
