Somwhere In a hotel room not far from the nearest prison, a middle aged woman was sitting on a chair while repeatedly taping his fingers on his knees. She had a long, wavy red hair, black eyes, and a bump on her left cheek. She was looking all around the room even at the smallest details, obvious sign that she was nervous in whoever she is supposed to meet.
Suddenly, the door to the hotel room opened and in came several police officers. In the middle was a young girl with the same hair and eye colour wearing a prisoner's uniform and cuffed on her arms, legs, and around her neck.
The woman was surprised at the girl's treatment, as she was wondering what happened to end her in that position. But neither less the reason, she was going to help her. After all, that's what a therapist like her do. They help people with their problems.
"Thank you for bringing her here. You can now uncuff her and leave." She told the guards. But after a while of them not doing anything, she got confused. "Is there a problem?" She asked.
"Forgive us mam, but we got a specific order to not leave her no matter what." One of the guards answered.
The woman could only sigh. "I understand your concern. But I can assure you that nothing wrong will happen." She tried to convince them.
"Then I don't see why we should leave you alone with that thing." Another guard arrogantly countered as he clearly wasn't buying it.
The woman took a deep breath, as she was trying to ignore the insult the second guard was giving. After her mind was cleared, she gave her reason "Just to clarify any disagreements and suspicions, my sessions with my clients are private. One of the reasons is to create trust, comfort, and sense of security, the conditions needed to connect to the client's inner self."
"Like that thing has a self." The second guard said which, unfortunately, was heard by the woman. Having enough, she packed up her things and prepared to leave.
"Ma'am please..." the first guard tried to convince her to stay but she will have none of it. "When I agreed to help your prisoner, I gave my conditions. That I treat her the same way as I treat my other clients, and that she doesn't receive any treatment that can affect this session negatively. I remember you were also there when I explained the reasons. Now Mr Turner, if you still doubt my methods, then I guess I'll pack up and leave since I have more important things to do than playing your useless game. Good luck theraping her in my absence.".
The first guard, known as Turner, finally gave in before she could leave. "Hold on ma'am, I believe there there was a misunderstanding. We'll remove the cuffs and give you two some privacy." He then went to remove the cuffs but the second guard will have none of it. "Hang on a sec. Are you disobeying an order because a useless bitch ask you to?".
Turner looked at him with an annoyed expression. "Jeff, you can treat your wife anyhow you like, I won't judge you till I'm involved. But I won't tolerate how you treat those around you during work. So shut the fuck up and wait outside."
"You're seriously asking me that because I just called her a bitch?"
"I didn't ask you. It's an order."
Jeff looked shocked at the reply but Turner didn't give him time to understand anything as he ordered again "GET OUT!".
After regaining his senses, Jeff just saluted before leaving the room, all while having a furious expression.
"Sorry about him ma'am, he never liked the prisoners. And I'm pretty sure the argument with his wife this morning kind of worsen his mood." He said as he removed the cuffs. "There you go. Little one." As soon as he was done, he ushered the others to wait outside. "We'll be right outside if you need us. Take as much time as you need." He made a greeting one more time before going out and closing the door behind him.
Once they were alone, the woman smile at the girl. "Hi." She greeted in a friendly manner but the girl neither talked nor did anything. The woman decided to try again "My name is Elizabeth but you can call me how you feel comfortable.". No response.
"Will you like to have a seat?". Nothing.
Elizabeth, however, sat down and looked at the girl as if the latter was the sweetest and innocent thing. "So, what will you like to talk about?"
"What?" The girl couldn't help but ask. As she had no clue as to why she was here.
"Is there anything you want to talk about?"
"Why should I tell you anything?"
"So that I can understand you better."
"You're lying."
"No I'm not. Because you want someone to understand you." Elizabeth answer took the girl by surprise. And after she recovered, the older woman continued "There's a time in life where one is willing to do anything to anything to gain attention and be understood. The reason why it's rare is, they mostly get sorounded by wrong people at the wrong time. And that's worse than being lonely. And that's where we come in. We represent the company those people need and help them understand themselves better."
"You don't have to worry about anything. Just sit down, relax, and talk about what's bothering you. I will be listening and giving you my honest opinions, despite how it will sound. After that, how you wish to deal that problem is all up to you." She explained.
Seeing the girl hesitant expression, Elizabeth further eased her worry "It's okay. It's just you and me. And nothing bad will happen to you while you're here. I promise.".
That seems to have done the trick, as the girl calmed down and sat on a couch opposite the woman. "I'm Sarah. Sarah Smith." She introduced herself.
Satisfied with the progress, Elizabeth shifted to a more friendly position before continuing the conversation "Hello Sarah. Nice to meet you. So, what do you want to talk about?"
