Chapter 1 - ch1.prologue

Legend says,

At the towering summit of Evercold Mountain, there lies the Gate of Heaven and and those who conquer the Trials of Gods are granted an audience with the supreme deities.

A man in his twenties, bearing a strikingly handsome face and a warrior's sculpted physique was climbing that very mountain.

"Close, I am very close"

Nyrix was clad in tattered black robes, shredded by battles and hardships. His hair was disheveled and his entire frame drenched in blood, a testament to the horrors he had faced.

He continued walking. His bloodied robes fluttered with haunting grace in the icy mountain breeze.

Then, The mountain quaked violently, mana began to freeze and and space itself shattered like shards of glasses. It was a terrifying spectacle, as if the apocalypse itself stood knocking at the door.

A colossal beast emerged from the ruptured fabric of space. A towering, blue-furred monster with four glowing red eyes and massive mouth that breathes freezing mist, large frost veined wings in it's back and a long tail With icicle barbs trail behind it.

Frostrend– S rank monster.

Wasting no time, he summoned a radiant golden sword in his right hand and a crackling orb of purple thunder in his left.

Nyr immediately threw the ball, Monster released a beam of ice from his mouth, both of them collided and destroyed each other.

The area already cold became even more cold resulting in ice storm, with black bolts.

Nyr moved with astonishing speed closed on monster and attacked left swung at monster's Leg.

Monster swung in sky, saving itself from danger and released big ice crystals with its tail. Nyr jumped and hurriedly moved away from sight of Monster.

The monster sensed danger approaching from its right and quickly turned, but not fast enough—a bolt of lightning pierced its wing, crippling its ability to fly high.

It swung a beam of ice to its left, shattering rocks and leveling mountains—but no human scream followed.

Seeing its attack bear no fruit, the monster let out a thunderous growl and released a beam of mana skyward. Unlike the first, this one wasn't blue—it was a brilliant, pure white.

The beam spread across the sky, forming a massive, circular shield-like structure that encompassed a vast area. Ice beams and all kinds of attacks began to rain down from above.

Sensing the shift, the hero charged his sword, which began to radiate golden energy. He ran forward, while dodging and taking attack which are unavoidable.

He swung his sword, and though the monster tried to block it with its claws, it failed. The golden lightning surged into its open mouth, killing it instantly.

With the monster dead, its magic faded, and the sky-cleaving attack dissolved into the environment.

Nyr collapsed into the snow beside the monster's lifeless body. His mana drained, stamina at its lowest and breath came in ragged gasps.

As he rested, the area around me began to repair itself, as if by magic. Within moments, the battlefield was restored—no sign remained that a fierce battle had taken place just moments before.

Slowly, pushed myself up with trembling hands and began walking toward the peak of the mountain.

Each step left a bloody trail behind me, but he didn't stop. He couldn't. He didn't have time for rest.

Still, he walked—calmly, steadily—until he reached the summit. It stood above the clouds, offering a view so breathtaking it seemed unreal.

Then, a golden energy descended from the sky above him, and he was teleported away from the summit of Evercold Mountain.

Nyr opened his eyes and found himself standing in a completely white dimension, stretching endlessly in every direction.

As he turned around, his gaze fell upon thirty-three humanoid entities. Their faces were obscured, their appearances indistinct—shrouded in mystery. Each one sat upon a black throne, silent and imposing.

Then, one of them spoke.

"Hero, you have passed the Trials of the Gods. Ask—ask for anything you desire."

Nyr responded in a calm but firm voice, "I wish to relinquish my position as the Hero of the World."

His words echoed through the space. At first, there was no reaction—only silence. Then, murmurs rose. Many of the entities began to jeer and scorn him.

"What?!"

"Hero, have you gone mad?"

"Do you even understand what you're saying?"

He stood his ground, expression unmoved, ignoring their outrage. At last, the first entity—the one who seemed to hold the highest authority—spoke again.

"Very well. Your wish shall be granted."

His voice was unlike anything Nyr had heard—resonant, divine, filled with ancient power.

"Hero, your blessings shall be stripped away, and you shall be forever cursed by the world for abandoning your duty."

"With every bond you form, a piece of you

Will fade~"

With those words, Nyr's vision faded into darkness—and he was teleported away from that realm.

Holy Empire — Ancient Temple of the Gods

A golden light descended from the sky, and with it came a sword that embedded itself into the heart of a stone. From that very stone, the hero once draw the legendary sword.

In that moment, a whisper echoed in the minds of all:

"Whoever draws the sword shall become the next Hero."

"Chosen by the gods, blessed by the world, and bound by fate—destined to slay the Demon King."
