Chapter 6 - 1

The day started as any other at U.A. High School, but for the students of Class 1-A, it would quickly turn out that today would be anything but ordinary. The events of the USJ incident had cast their long shadow over the school, underlining the need for more rigorous and realistic combat training. With the fresh memory of a security breach, the administration decided it was high time to make a big change.

Inside Classroom 1-A, the usual pre-class buzz was tinged with an undercurrent of excitement and apprehension. The students were all bunched together in their respective groups, discussing the latest details about the training sessions each of them had undergone and what new developments had been hinted at over the past few days. Midoriya Izuku, the ever-curious class hero-in-training, was deep in conversation with his friends.

You think this new teacher's gonna be like All Might?" Uraraka Ochaco was practically bursting with excitement. "Or is it gonna be totally different?"

Kirishima Eijiro pitched in, equally anxious. "I heard from a friend that they're supposed to be super intense. I bet we're in for some seriously hard training.

Students argued about theories, but the door burst open and in came Shota Aizawa. His normally sloppy appearance was even more unkempt than usual, directly telling of his stress levels since the USJ incident. The moment Aizawa stepped into the room, all eyes automatically fell upon him as he strode to the front to his usual spot behind the desk.

"Settle down," Aizawa's voice cut through the chatter, firm as ever. "I've got some important news to share before we start today's class."

The students fell silent in a heartbeat; their interest was piqued. By the serious tone in Aizawa's voice, whatever he was going to say was important. Midoriya's heart started beating faster as he wondered what it could be.

We had discussed the aftermath of the USJ case," Aizawa said, "and from this discussion came a reevaluation of the system regarding combat training. In line with that, an important change was made in the training program.

Whispers and exchanged glances filled the classroom. The seriousness in Aizawa's voice was a complete opposite to that which usually accompanied his classes, and it was more than obvious that whatever was to come next, it was going to be something out of the ordinary.

Aizawa cleared his throat and started once again, "Before I introduce you to our new teacher, take the opportunity now to ask me any questions you may have about this change. You can only ask what will happen, but keep in mind that not all your questions will be answered just yet."

Immediately hands shot up wanting answers. Aizawa scanned the room and picked several.

"Yaoyorozu," Aizawa called out, his voice pointing at the tall girl who already rose from her seat.

Momo Yaoyorozu stood up with an expression of calm composure. "Sensei, if you would explain to us in greater detail what sort of changes these training sessions will see, would that be all right? Will they be training sessions fundamentally different from those we have had up until now?

Aizawa nodded. "The new training course will consist of more realistic scenarios and high-stress situations. There is also going to be more sophisticated ways of fighting and crisis management. It's designed to prepare you for situations where things won't go according to plan and conventional methods might not work.

Yaoyorozu sat back down, her expression thoughtful as she processed the information. A murmur of agreement and interest swept over the room; the students were apparently ready for harder, more realistic training.

Kirishima Eijiro was the next to raise his hand, barely containing his excitement. "Will this new instructor be working with us directly in the training sessions or just overseeing the program?

Amusement danced in Aizawa's eyes. "The new instructor will be directly involved in your training. They'll be running the sessions, and pushing you to your limits. You can also expect them to be alongside you most of the time in combat training."

In that instant, the air was electric with excitement. Students nudged one another excitedly. The fact that direct involvement by a new instructor was something that heralded a whole new experience in their training regimen.

Uraraka Ochaco's hand shot up, serious and curious once more. "Will we learn some new techniques or strategy that's particular with this instructor?

Yes, the new instructor has different skills than what you have learned so far, and he also has another kind of technique and strategy to inculcate into you. That is one of the trainings to make you ready against a wider variety of situations and challenges."

The students nodded in understanding, and with each new phrase given by Aizawa, anticipation excited them even more. The new training sessions were to be challenging, yet enlightening at the same time.

The next to rise was Tokoyami Fumikage, whose dark face was stoic, though a surge of curiosity betrayed his calm. "How is this new teacher different from older methods we have become so used to? Are we to expect some major shift in the way we train?

Aizawa stared steadily back and replied, "Yes, you can expect much change. The new instructor is made to be more challenging and realistic. They are expected to question any assumption in you that needed testing and make you adapt in a way that your instructor could not.

The atmosphere was quiet, almost filled with apprehension and excitement alike, as the students digested this information. The idea of a great change in training was daunting yet exhilarating.

Finally, Mineta Minoru, his voice low and laced with a mix of nerves and determination, finally raised his hand. "Uh, is there anything we should specifically prepare for before the new instructor arrives? Any special equipment or mindset we need to adopt?

Aizawa's lips twitched with what might almost have been a smile. "Prepare yourselves for various quick turns in the training track. These new instructors have difficult methods, and you can bet that they will expect you to rise up to the standards of their training. For your equipment, we will give you any gear that might be needed additionally during the training process.

With the questions thus answered, Aizawa stepped backward, giving the signal that it was about time for the main course. Anticipation was continuing to build up in the students as they were finally going to meet their new instructor.

"Now, the time has come for me to introduce our new combat instructor," Aizawa said in his voice full of finality. "Please give a warm welcome and show respect to him."

The door to the classroom opened for the second time that morning, and the new teacher stepped inside. An impressive-looking man in stature and size, he had a ruggedness about him quite unlike any of the preceding classes of instructors at UA. His dark, battered leather jacket seemed almost like armor. His hair was mussed, partially covering his face. Below this disheveled mass of hair were two eyes of piercing blue, scanning the room with an intensity that made the students sit just a little bit straighter in their chairs.

Logan, as he had been introduced by Aizawa, moved to the front of the room at a measured, deliberate pace. All the presence he evoked was in his person, and students watched him with curiosity and apprehension alike: there was something palpably formidable about him, though what exactly made him so was yet to be revealed.

"Hello, Class 1-A," Logan rasped out, his voice gruff and with a gravely bottom that did much to instill respect. "I'm Logan. I'll be your new combat instructor."

The students took this in everything from surprise-wide eyes to more cautious curiosity. The room was electric, the students bursting with anticipation and curiosity about this man who would instruct them in their combat training.

"I'll make this short," Logan said, scanning the room with his eyes. "You've all gone through a living hell, and it's about to get worse. My job here is to prepare you for the worst-case scenarios and push you to be better than you ever thought possible."

The weight of Logan's words hung in the air as the students listened intently. It was commanding, and from his tone, it would be anything but ordinary training.

Aizawa moved a step closer, serious. "The methods Logan has in store will be intense and hard to bear. That's what he's here for-to make sure that in whatever situation, it'll be you who faces it. Approach this training as it ought to be.".

Logan gave a curt nod; his eyes lingered on each of the students as if to size up their potential. "You're going to face some things that are going to push your limits. If you're here to take it easy, you're in the wrong place. My goal is to make sure you're ready for anything."

With that, he turned to leave, his air still in the atmosphere, his presence lingering. The students uttered nothing but sat in silence, minds racing to cover all the importance. The introduction of Logan merely acted to set a new framework for their training-one bound by both challenge and growth.

At the sound of the period end bell, students rose slowly, their minds filled with thoughts of the exhaustive training ahead. The coming of Logan marked a change in their ways of education; now the promise of hard, realistic combat training finally became an actual fact.

They had all filed out of the classroom; their conversations tinged with just that touch of excitement and trepidation as one would feel when working with someone as formidable as Logan. It was a prospect both thrilling and intimidating, an anticipation that still lingered in the air while they went on to their next classes and set the stage for what would become a transforming period in their journey into heroism.
