Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Penguin

As a ninja, proficiency in wall-running, climbing, and water-walking are basic skills.

Ignoring the noisy bar downstairs, to avoid drawing attention, Hardy lifted the safe and climbed up to the window. He evenly distributed chakra on the soles of his feet, then walked vertically on the wall at a ninety-degree angle, reaching the balcony unnoticed. With a few leaps, he disappeared into the high-rise building.

One hour later, at the Iceberg Restaurant.

Sub-basement.

Here lies a hidden casino beneath the Iceberg Restaurant.

Upon arrival, someone asked Hardy to a private room.

"It's unbelievable, you actually escaped from Arkham, Doll Doctor," Penguin Man looked at Hardy with astonishment in the private room.

Here, Hardy did not conceal his identity because his original status as an Arkham graduate could be more beneficial here.

This was equivalent to a high-level criminal degree certified by Professor Batman himself, with great value.

Thanks to Gotham's news media deploying helicopters and reporters, capturing the battle between Batman and the Joker, the entire Gotham now knew what happened at Arkham Asylum.

The escaped criminals, including Hardy, became dangerous criminals wanted throughout Gotham by the police.

Especially Hardy.

After an investigation by Batman, the world's greatest detective, it was believed that Hardy was the mastermind behind the escape during the Joker incident.

Overnight, Clay Watt became famous in Gotham, becoming the city's new rising star villain.

"Interested in working for me?" Penguin Man, holding a cigar, extended an invitation to Hardy.

"I prefer working alone, and if we gather together, the target is too big and easily attracts the attention of the dark little animal," Hardy placed the safe on the table in front of Penguin Man.

"I need to buy something."

A female dealer with an electronic scale walked over and began counting the contents of the safe.

"Ah, you're right. There's a Bat Boy snooping around for information about you now!" Penguin Man pushed his glasses and laughed heartily.

Nightwing was the one inquiring about Hardy.

After the Titan venom in Milovan's body was separated by WayneTech's blood analyzer and he returned to his original appearance, Nightwing realized he had been played.

After the investigation, Nightwing volunteered to help Batman capture the escaped Arkham inmates.

"Fifty chips in total. Normally, I charge a five percent handling fee for transactions here, but this time I'll waive it for you," Penguin Man clapped his hands, and immediately his men brought fifty chips to Hardy.

"One chip is worth ten thousand. Enjoy your spending, my friend," Penguin Man made an elegant gesture, opening the door.

Hardy left the private room, traversed the noisy casino, and arrived at a small door, which he opened and entered the elevator.

The basement was the casino, while the second basement was the black market run by Penguin Man.

In the past, the original body had also been here once, so Hardy was familiar with the place.

In the corridor hung black cloaks and masks.

These were prepared for guests who did not want to reveal their identities, optional to wear.

Hardy put on a black cloak, took a cat mask, and entered the black market.

As Gotham's largest black market, it was quite lively.

After all, Penguin Man was a prominent figure in Gotham's underworld and a shrewd businessman.

Most people, like Hardy, disguised their identities with cloaks and masks.

Whether selling or buying, everyone did the same.

Firearms, ammunition, human organs, rare minerals, drugs, and various types of jewelry could all be found here.

Hardy began to browse, touching and looking around.

He was mainly looking for materials to make puppets.

If he found something interesting, he would buy a small amount first.

He was not very familiar with the materials here, especially unsure about their chakra conductivity.

Most of them seemed mediocre.

Chakra had existed in the Naruto world for thousands of years, and many substances had developed resistance to chakra and possessed certain conductivity, such as chakra metal, various plants used to make explosive tags and chakra paper.

But not here.

Hardy frowned.

For making puppets, it was acceptable if the main body's chakra conductivity was not excellent, but for the chakra hub, the location connecting the chakra lines, the conductivity had to be good.

The materials he encountered so far seemed to have average effects.

It seemed he had to make do with what he could find.

Gold, silver, and copper were the three best conductive metals, capable of transmitting energy well and were the best materials for chakra conductivity that Hardy had discovered so far.

With his wealth, he could buy quite a lot, but unfortunately, the hardness of these three metals was not very high, making them unsuitable as the main body for puppets.

So, he decided to choose aluminum alloy plated with bulletproof stainless steel.

He did not need to put too much thought into the weapon modules because there were plenty of weapons here, including RPGs.

After strolling around, Hardy finally selected three ceramic composite bulletproof vests, a bag of mini cameras, small radar sensors, two guns - a Harding revolver and a Beretta PMX compact submachine gun.

These were weapons he planned to modify onto the puppets.

He also bought some other materials that could be useful.

The total cost was not high, only two chips, which was equivalent to twenty thousand US dollars.

"You seem to have bought not many things. Are you not interested in the items here?" After leaving the black market, Hardy found Penguin Man again.

"Not really. I've got what I needed,"

"I have what I want, but upon further thought, you should be able to help me solve part of the problem."

"Oh, I can't tell what you bought those things for, but I think I should know what you want me to do for you, an identity, right?"

The Penguin chuckled.

Now, Hardy is wanted by the entire Gotham City Police Department. If caught, he will be sent back to Arkham, and because of his history of escaping, he will most likely enjoy the same treatment as the Joker, being locked in the highest security cell.

Therefore, he needs a new identity.

"Yes, a legal, scrutinizable identity, in a short time. I don't want to be bothered by that annoying bat," Hardy replied.

"Ah, I see. For such an identity, it will cost you a hundred thousand dollars. Do you also want to prepare for a plastic surgery performed by top doctors? After all, identity issues are easy to solve, but appearance..."

The Penguin said with a smile on his face, puffing on a cigar.

"No need."

Hardy lifted his cloak, forming hand seals.
