Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

Simon was surprised to see the strange messages from the system. It seemed there was more to him just being able to come back to life.

It looks like he could level up as well.

His earlier revivals were just like his old self from before, without no power and skills, but this time he could feel a strange energy inside him. It felt like his heart was made out of steel now and it was pumping not just blood alone but energy as well.

Simon stood up at once and instantly rushed to the villain.

"I am going to kill you!!"

He roared as he smashed forward to the villian. The villain was stupefied on his spot.

He couldn't believe what was going on anymore. He was a hundred percent sure he killed Simon just now.

He exploded the kid to pieces. There was no way regeneration could work, no that he even sensed any spiritual energy from the kid.

Could this be an illusion?

Could it be he had been placed under an illusion.

The villain was terrified on the spot. He had no idea how Simon was coming back to life out of nothing, and why he couldn't sense any energy coming out of Simon, but he was damn angry and he wanted to shut Simon off for good.

"CROCODILE BLADES!!"

"20%!!"

The villain turned insanely to Simon again as he was about to unleash his most powerful attack, but before he could move his hands, Simon was surprisingly standing inches away from him.

'So fast!'

'When did the brat become this fast!!!'

The villain shouted in his mind. Simon speed was too much for him to react to, more like he was taken off by surprise. Simon quickly moved his fist to the villain's face and smashed him hard without holding back.

BANG!

The punch was struck with everything Simon had inside, but it only sent the villain staggering backwards a little. Not more than five footsteps.

The motion caused Simon eyebrows to raise to his forehead. He had never hit someone with that much power before, and yet it didn't even cause a single damage on the villain.

He thought that would cause the villain to fall unconscious or possibly be the end of him.

It seemed he overestimated himself just now. Didn't the system say he was currently at level one.

That's the beginning of every level in a video game.

Not even able to knock the villain to the ground, Simon knew he wasn't strong enough to fight this villian. At least he had to first ensure his sister was safe.

"Emily! RUN!!"

Simon faced Emily and screamed out.

The moment he said the words. The villain appeared inches away from Simon.

"I wouldn't take my eyes off me if I were you."

Before Simon could comprehend the motion, The villain smashed Simon on the chest and the force sent Simon flying to the wall far away.

BANG!

The impact slammed Simon inside the wall and he couldn't move out of it. blood erupted from his forehead and all over his body.

The villain straightened up on his spot as he looked at Simon.

"You know what. Maybe I should kill you sister first before I kill you for real.

Wouldn't that be interesting. It would definitely be the most interesting thing you would ever remember. Oh, pardon me, I am going to kill you anyway. So just live fully in the moment.

Enjoy the present as it passes away in every second."

Simon tried to respond to the villain, but he couldn't. He couldn't move his body and his eyes were in such bad shape that he couldn't even see properly.

It seemed he might still get to lose his sister after all. Without dying, his body wouldn't come back to normal.

Shit!

Simon tried to force himself out of the wall but he couldn't.

"Emily....."

He said as he managed to voice out but his voice was only as loud as his current predicament.

The villain stared at Simon for a little while, ensuring that Simon wasn't going to miraculously come back like before.

"I thought as much. It seems you can't pull those tricks of yours in this condition."

The villain slowly turned to face Emily. He had no idea what Simon tricks were, but it was under control now.

"Watch carefully, Simon!"

The villain said as his entire body started glowing with a red form of energy.

"Because you fought well, I am going to use my most powerful attack on your sister. I am going to make it quick for you, so when you experience a nightmare after today, It would be a short one.

Oh, I forgot again. I am definitely going to kill you after this"

The villain cheeks raised to his eyes and he moved his right hand to Emily.

"Crocodiles Blades: 1%"

He smiled brightly as he activated the skill.

'I am going to kill her in the most painful way ever.'

The villain burst into laughter in his mind.

The skill was about to be released when the window beside him suddenly shattered to pieces.

The villain's expression darkened and he immediately turned to face the direction, but just as he turned to face the direction, he received a powerful punch on the face.

"Superman Punch"

"FIFTY PERCENT!"

BOOM!!!!!

The force smashed the villain out of the room and several rooms before he finally got sent out of the building.

The building vibrated vigorously at that moment. The person that just entered straightened up on her spot then.

"Target taken care of."

She said as she looked at the hole her punch just created. She turned to face Emily and the earbuds she was putting on sounded at that moment.

"Roger that, Flexibility Woman.

Is there any survival in the premises?"

Flexibility woman stared at Emily for a while before she said.

"Just one."

She wanted to approach Emily when she noticed Emily wasn't paying her any attention. She turned to face the direction Emily was looking and what she saw stunned her to the bone.

Simon managed to fall off the wall at that moment. His sight faded away as he fell to the ground.

The area he fell on was immediately soaked with blood and it continued to expand on the floor.

**

Inside Dreamway hospital, Simon was seen lying helplessly in one of the rooms in the hospital.

He slowly opened his eyes after a few moments of trying.

Simon opened his eyes and saw he was in a hospital room, however, the room was quite different from what a hospital room should look like. It looked well maintained, well contained like it was his private space.

His thought flung away as he instinctively tried to remember what happened before he got here, the motion was slightly painful for him, yet he couldn't remember the whole details.

He only remembered falling to the ground at the arrival of somebody dressed in a yellow colored outfit. He had no idea if the person was a hero or was part of the villain.

"Emily..."

Simon managed to voice out. His forehead immediately folded as he thought of Emily. He hoped she was alive.

Damn! He failed her.

At the mention of his sister's name, the middle aged male doctor that was in the room spoke at that moment.

"She is fine.

She was rescued by Flexibility Woman, and she also brought you here."

Simon was surprised to see somebody was with him, but most importantly, the mention of Flexibility Woman caused him to be more shocked.

She was a Pro Hero, not just any hero that has graduated from the hero academy, she was in the list of the hundred most powerful heroes in the country.

She was one of the few women to be on that list and also one of the few B Class heroes on the list.

Simon had heard a lot about her from his colleagues at work. It turns out she was from a rich family and chooses to become a hero despite her family disapproval for the first time.

His colleagues talk about her money, how wealthy she was, and most importantly as guys, they never stop without talking about the other stuff.

He heard she was a talented hero that was why she was able to make it to the top hundred superheroes in the country, a list that contains only the best among the best and she was a B class awakener, two classes away from the strongest classes in the world.

A Class and S Class.

A hero like that deserves more praise from everyone. He had great respect for her. Who would've thought she would be the one to come to his rescue today. Now that Simon thinks about it, he seemed to be all healed up from his injuries.

Did he die or something?

"How long have I been here?"

Simon couldn't help but ask. The male doctor finished scanning the papers he was looking at before he put it away and faced Simon.

"You have been asleep for one week now.

Your body was messed up when you were brought in, we had to attend to it immediately, and thanks to Flexibility Woman you were given premium service.

That is why you are completely healed at the moment. Given your injuries, you could've stayed in the hospital for almost a year."

Simon was stupefied when he heard the doctor's words. He couldn't believe he had been asleep for a week now and his injuries were that serious, however, he wondered why Flexibility Woman helped him out.

Could it be that she suddenly had a crush on him?

Simon kicked the thought away immediately. It wasn't his thoughts but that of his colleague.

Looking at the room once more, Simon finally understood why he thought this wasn't a regular hospital room. It was simply a VIP one. The kind that Pro Heroes gets if they ever get injured at service.

The treatments for Pro Heroes were high level standards. Created by heroes who awakened extraordinary knowledge in creating things. The service of those medical machines were free to Pro Heroes serving the country. To the normal citizens, it was goddamn expensive.

He wasn't a hero let alone a Pro Hero, Flexibility Woman paid for him from her own cash.

Why would she do that?

Simon finally voiced out to the doctor.

"Do you have any idea why Flexibility Woman did this for me?"

The doctor responded right away like he had been waiting to hear that.

"I don't know but it definitely doesn't have anything to do with your appearance. You are totally not her type, and you are not the first person she had paid premium service for, but you are the first male to receive it from her, don't get that wrong though."

The doctor said as he looked at the booklet he was holding again.

Simon was totally confused now. He couldn't pick up anything from the doctor's response, he might've just kept the question to himself, rather than looking like he was a big fan of flexibility woman.

Well, he would be from this moment on. She saved Emily.

The doctor gave Simon the booklet and continued.

"I think she saved you because of this. She discovered that you had awakened an energy core.

You could become a Superhero."

Simon read the message on the booklet with wide open eyes.

He had truly awakened an energy core. He could become a superhero.

'That shit was real'

Simon sounded in his mind as he thought about the system.

The doctor voices out again at that moment.

"Now that you are awake, It's time we go through your hero assessment to see which class your energy core falls under."
