The Waver was Angel Island's primary mode of transportation. It was said that mastering its operation required ten years of training.
Yet Nami, who hadn't even been born yet, could immediately pilot it around with ease. Yasa didn't believe his balance and skills could be outdone by Nami. Moreover, having lived on Jaya Island for five years, understanding sea currents posed no challenge to him.
After all, he had once been a street bike racer. He could ride a motorcycle hands-free, maintaining perfect stability on the road.
When Yasa trained his body, he particularly focused on controlling his strength. Relying solely on brute force without technique meant you'd die without knowing how.
If a Waver were in front of him now, he'd hit the road like an experienced driver!
Scratching the white bird wings on his back that served as decoration, Yasa frowned, feeling slightly troubled.
What he least wanted was to interact with Sky Islanders, but without contact, he couldn't obtain transportation.
Thrum-thrum-thrum-thrum-thrum!
A motorbike-like roar approached from afar, jolting Yasa from his contemplation.
His eyes lit up, a smile unconsciously spreading across his face.
Just when I was wondering how to deal with Angel Island's natives and snag a Waver, someone delivers one right to my doorstep.
Yasa executed a carp flip from the Island Cloud sofa, hiding behind the pavilion as he observed the Sky Islander approaching across the White White Sea.
His extended Observation Haki clearly counted the visitors and eavesdropped on their conversation.
"Boss Urouge, those God's Guard members are out of line. With your strength, becoming their Captain should be a breeze. How dare they refuse your offer?"
Two figures occupied the Waver. The first stood over three meters tall, his rugged features and full beard contrasting with his youthful appearance of about twenty years. Wings protruded from his back.
The second, a normal-height man in his thirties, addressed the younger Urouge as his leader.
"Urouge?" Yasa's heart skipped a beat at the name.
He'd felt a strange familiarity about this tall, imposing man from afar, and now he realized why—this was Urouge, one of the eleven Supernovas gathering at Sabaody Archipelago, a member of the Worst Generation to come. He was the captain of the Fallen Monk Pirates, with a bounty of 108 million Berries, known by the title "Mad Monk." A Sky Islander by birth, his crew members called him "High Priest."
According to Yasa's knowledge, Urouge was indeed a Sky Islander—the wings on his back served as clear evidence of this.
Moreover, he was a Devil Fruit user. Though the fruit's name remained unknown, its power allowed him to convert any damage he received into increased size and strength. The greater the injury, the more dramatic the growth and power enhancement.
In twenty-nine years' time, he would single-handedly defeat one of the Big Mom Pirates' Sweet Commanders.
From what Yasa could tell, Urouge hadn't obtained that fruit yet. He was certain of this—if he had, wouldn't Urouge have already challenged Gan Fall's divine status?
What kind of pirate captain dares to enter the New World and oppose the Four Emperors? Do you think he lacks ambition?
"Ah, it doesn't matter," Urouge said with a smile. "Whether we become the God's Guard or not is irrelevant!"
As a monk, he maintained his composure regardless of circumstances—whether joyful, sorrowful, or facing death. His serene smile remained constant, a perpetual greeting to the world.
Seeing Urouge's indifference, the other companion on the Waver could only suppress his anger.
Thud-thud-thud-thud-thud!
The Waver crossed the White White Sea and reached the Island Cloud, continuing its journey deep into Angel Island without pause.
Yasa felt a surge of anxiety. If he missed this chance to obtain the Waver, who knew when he'd encounter another Sky Islander piloting it? How could he let such an opportunity slip away?
With a swift decision, Yasa removed his wings and tossed them into the Island Cloud. He covered his face with his shirt, then leaped from behind the pavilion to block the path leading to Angel Island's residential area.
"Shave!"
A series of rapid steps generated momentum, propelling him forward. Before the two men on the Waver could react...
Thud!
A heavy fist struck the silent companion behind Urouge, sending the Sky Islander flying.
The Sky Islander who had been sent flying couldn't compare to Urouge or Yasa in terms of physical prowess. The sudden heavy punch knocked him to the ground instantly.
His body slid over ten meters across the Island Cloud, gasping for air. It was clear he wouldn't survive.
"Abel!!" Urouge roared. At this point, his strength couldn't match his future self. Though he had reacted to Yasa's sneak attack, he couldn't move further and could only watch helplessly as his companion was killed, his smile frozen on his face.
Screech... Waver's brakes screeched as the vehicle came to a halt. Urouge picked up his dead companion, slowly turned around, and revealed killing intent.
"No wings? Are you a Blue Sea Islander? Why did you attack us?" he asked Yasa, his smile still unchanged.
Yasa's emotions remained calm as still water. Killing a person couldn't move him at all. To achieve his goal, what harm was there in killing a few?
If obtaining the Rumble-Rumble Fruit required killing all residents of Sky Island, Yasa wouldn't hesitate.
"So what? As for why I killed him, there's no other meaning. I just want to borrow something from you." Yasa's voice was cold and ruthless, his face covered by a cloth, only revealing a pair of pitch-black eyes that pierced the heart.
"Then go down and keep Abel company in the afterlife!" Urouge's expression turned strange, his smile unchanged while fury burned in his eyes.
At 3.8 meters tall with a muscular build, he exuded overwhelming pressure. Though not fast, his movements carried the ferocity of a tiger bursting from its cage.
"Too slow! Compared to your future self, you're utterly pathetic right now!" Yasa opened his Observation Haki, taking in every detail of Urouge's movements.
The thick arm whipped through the air, but Yasa didn't move a step. He simply tilted his head to the side, letting the enraged punch sail harmlessly past.
Observation Haki's ability to predict enemy moves made it impossible for anyone without Haki or speed to land a hit.
Yasa took a quick step forward, grabbing Urouge's angry fist mid-swing. His right hand formed a fist and slammed into the man's elbow joint.
Crack!
Urouge's arm was destroyed. Yasa, showing no mercy, followed up with a sweeping kick that knocked his opponent to the ground.
That first punch could have crushed Urouge's skull, but Yasa was only thirteen years old and 1.6 meters tall. Without jumping, he couldn't reach high enough, so he settled for knocking the man down instead!
PS: smile :)
