I can't remember the last time I slept. Since the outbreak started, we've lost so much... We couldn't afford to lose more people.
I looked at Asi — although... there was a suspicion inside me about him.
Sometimes, something I couldn't define would appear in his eyes. Like danger. Or the echo of a past.
Asi turned to me, his pale face staring back:
"How much longer are you going to sleep?"
In that moment… I felt a sharp pain in my body.
I might have been bitten.
Asi gently caressed my cheek and whispered:
"Don't worry... No one knows about this, sweet girl."
The rest was blurry…
I struggled to keep my eyelids open.
Asi's warm hand gave me comfort.
Or… maybe I just thought it did.
Maybe I was still trapped in one of those damn dreams.
Is this real… or am I still asleep?
Only time will tell.
The last thing I remember…
Was Asi picking me up and carrying me in his arms.
